We’ve eaten here a number of times and each time has been great. The meat seasoned well and everything fresh. My favorite here is a burrito w/chicken. Great salsa verde and and kick ass queso. The staff here is awesome. Tonight we stopped in for an early dinner — turned out this was the night our toddler wanted to have her first big time restaurant meltdown. Out of left field the apocalypse hit and she went from adorable girl with pigtails to car-smashing Hulk. We gathered our food and asked for a few lids to take it to go. One of the staff came out to see if they could do anything and offered to make her something different. We’re super appreciative and will of course be back to try again. Glad to have Tipo in town!

Same concept as chipotle, but lacks as much flavor. I got a veggie burrito bowl with plain white rice, peppers and onions, sour cream, salsa, and guacamole. It has so much potential to be better than chipotle and do well in this area, since chipotle is quite a drive. Spices and flavors need to be incorporated into the food a bit more. The chips are very tasty.

First of all let me say that I try my best to support«Main Street America» so when I saw Tipo open I was anxious to give it a try as I drive through Ayer every day. So let me set the stage. I have to bring my daughter back to college and we need to grab a quick bite before we go and it has to be take out as she needs to do more packing. I live exactly 1 mile from Tipo and two miles from Taco Bell. Family wants Taco Bell which we’ve done a million times, but I push for Tipo. I order three Taco meals, two chicken and one steak. They are packaged in some type of cardboard containers. I take them and quickly drive home, maybe 5 minutes at the most table to table. We open our meals with anticipation and it was a MESS!!! There was so much liquid that it saturated the containers and the shells just broke apart. No semblance what so ever to Tacos. I was so disappointed. Plus it was quite bland. Regardless of what you think of Taco Bell, it’s affordable and CONSISTENT! Such risk opening a private business like that. How could they be so careless.

This is a good place to take my family because we all like different things. The barbarian was really good. I would say the meat, bean, salsa ingredients are not drained well enough to not soak through a tortilla — ask to strain or order a bowl. The queso is great but the chips are not. Pepsi only. Happy to have«Mexican» food nearby.

The food was alright, nothing too exciting. Might try it again, just to see if they were having a off night. I got a bowl, and the meat and peppers tasted as though they were there a while.

Recently stopped in to try a burrito here, and it was pretty delicious! I got the steak barbacoa which was very yummy. Definitely will come back again, and again. My only complaint was about the rice — waaaay too limey. It wasn’t horrible, I actually almost liked the tartness of lime rice but this was a little bit over the top. Maybe it was just a super limey batch, I’ve only been this once so we shall see. Anyway, I definitely enjoyed my burrito and definitely will be back! Oh, one other thing… wish they stayed open a bit later!

Good place so far. Only been once but did not disappoint. Happy to have a burrito place in town. Biggest concern is they are not open Sunday and later at night.. .

My family and I stopped in for lunch at Tipo Tacos. We ordered pork carnitas and chicken burritos and the kids had chicken soft tacos. The ingredients were all fresh and many options were available to include in our burritos and tacos. The quinoa was a wonderful addition to my burrito. I specifically loved the pork carnitas– full of flavor and was extremely tender. I would highly recommend Tipo Tacos.

Great food great prices very friendly staff. Everything is fresh and clean. Finally a different choice other than pizza or pizza. I recommend any of the burrito bowls.

Given the lack of quality restaurants in my area, I stopped in Tipos yesterday(12÷2÷15) with high hopes, but couldn’t even try the food as they were out of rice! Now, if this was an establishment opened up by someone new to the industry I’d cut them some slack, but Tipos is supposedly owned by a chef/owner with other establishments in the area. I spoke with a friend this morning that had lunch there yesterday and it turns out I was lucky I didn’t have the chance to try the food. They were a large enough party to have a representative sample of the menu, and to a person they all used the same two adjectives to describe the food: «Bad» and«Bland». One person actually threw their carnitas bowl out. Yes, there are Mexican recipes like mole that have an ingredients list as long as your arm, but by and large a Taqueria menu is comprised of simple dishes; if each component isn’t good, no amount of pico de gallo or salsa verde is going to change that. Alas, finding authentic, good Mexican food in New England is very difficult. Much like barbecue in the area, you’re better off making it yourself. Pick up a Rick Bayless cookbook, a pork butt, cumin seeds, cilantro, fresh citrus, tomatillos, jalapeño, salt and pepper and go for it. Don’t waste your money at Tipos.

I’m thrilled to have a new option in Ayer. Tipo Tacos is a refreshing approach, with fresh toppings, flavorful meat that isn’t too salty. The steak chimichurri was moist and delicious. The portions are hearty without being gluttonous and wasteful. The queso was yummy on the homemade chips.

I got a steak salad bowl and it was very good. The steak was excellent and I also really enjoyed the tomatillo salsa. My husband enjoyed getting quinoa on his burrito.

I love tacos and burritos, I eat them often. When I found out you guys were opening in Ayer I was ecstatic! I want to love you guys, I really do! I have been in two times, first time for a burrito and second time for tacos. Things missing: They do not offer a fresh Pico de Gallo. The red sauce is not hot at all, lacks flavor and the green tomatillo sauce is very bland. The queso is very bland. They do not offer fresh avocado. They also have canned jalapeños. How about adding a chipolte sour cream? The first time I had the carnitas burrito which I had to drown in cholula hot sauce for flavor. The burrito was very doughy because they do not heat it up enough. My co-worker felt the same. The burrito was just ok. The second visit I had the grilled chicken tacos which were awful. The chicken tasted burnt, chewy and old which makes me wonder where they are making the food. There is not fresh food prep going on or meats being grilled or cooked. The tomatoes they offer are in big chunks so they fall of your taco. My corn tortillas were cracking in half because they don’t heat them up on a flat top. Sorry, the worst taco I have ever eaten. I am writing this review because customer feedback is how the food industry survives, without food customers like, there are no customers. I also want you guys to be good and succeed. I want to eat there for lunch everyday! But, some changes need to be made. Also, the staff are not friendly and they are tripping over themselves making your burrito or taco, they seem nervous and awkward both times I’ve been there. They also do not ask you what you want, you have to tell them. The owner should train his staff to act happy when a customer comes in because customers are the ones who will keep you business going. You should consult with a Mexican or Guatemalan for authentic recipes. People love authentic and fresh when it comes to ethnic food. I will try you guys again in a few weeks to see if things have improved. Wishing you the best of luck!

Feel like they let the food sit out too long, then ran out of most food when I arrived but overall nice vibe.
