Loved it! Great food and atmosphere. Went for a late night dinner with my fiancée and sat by the bar, We shared a few appetizers, drinks and a seafood dinner and it was all amazing. Try the Chilean Sea Bass!

Where do I start? Maybe I should start with the bouncer who kicks me and my wife out of the waiting room 30 minutes before closing… We were innocently waiting for a cab in the warmth of the waiting room. Take in mind this is the end of February, temperatures averaging around mid 20’s. My wife and I wearing just long sleeve shirts, no jackets, assuming we were safe in the warmth of the cab or the carriage house. I don’t understand how we can be honest patrons weekly and be treated like this? I will advise my friends and family to steer clear of this occurrence and spread my experience. Just a little advice to anyone who dares to enters The Carriage House, the bartenders are great, thumbs up to those hardworking females behind the bar, but lose the attitude bouncers… Greg Testa

We went to dinner at the Babylon Carriage House two weeks ago, and all I can say is that it was overall great experience. The food was excellent, the tuna won-ton taco appetizer and the filet mignon dinner were exceptional. The atmosphere and staff were also fantastic. We will be back again soon!

I came here for a christening celebration. My cousin booked a buffet style set up for all the guests to enjoy. I love brunch so much so I was very excited, and Babylon Carriage House did not disappoint. Everything I had was magnificent. I think my favorite dishes were the penne alla vodka and the lemon chicken. We had our own private area and it was great. I will absolutely come back here for dinner. The staff was super nice and attentive minus the hostess. I usually hate parking anywhere on main streets, and to my surprise the parking lot is huge. They even have extended parking in the back. The décor inside was a little outdated but the place is very clean. This place is not a perfect five but very close to it.

Everything here is great, all the food and drinks. They have the best mac n’ cheese. The bartenders are all really great! One of my favorite places!

I love this place. In fact, it just might be my favorite non-brunch restaurant in Babylon. Here’s why: The atmosphere is wonderful. I heard it was an old carriage house converted into a restaurant, but even if that’s not true I really like the décor. The set-up is great — you walk in and the host booth is to the left with a bar area to the right. In between becomes a dance floor at night and the demographic is tolerable(as opposed to the kids that come out after 12 at Lily Flanagan’s or even worse, Mary Carrol’s), so you can actually have a good time dancing. The drinks are good. I wouldn’t say they are the best cocktails I’ve ever had, but the service I’ve received at the bar as well as the quality of the drinks have been good to great. The food is amazing. If my family comes to visit and we’re in the mood of something«nice», I like to take them to Babylon Carriage House. My favorite thing on the menu is the appetizer plate that comes with fish tacos, french onion dumplings, thai calamari, and a gorgonzola salad. I sometimes get that for my own meal! I definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for good food, or dancing on weekends.

Excellent. Prepare to wait, prepare to pay, prepare to enjoy! I have been there once, everything was great, the 28 day aged steak was a special, and it WAS special. The calamari was a dream, best I have ever had and big enough for 3 or 4 people. Good desert as well… service was good but my personal opinion of the kid waiting on me was not a fond one. Try this place soon and make up your mind.

Recently visited your restaurant with my elderly parents who are regular patrons at your restaurant and always recognized and welcomed by your staff. We went for the«Prime Rib» special. Well,…you’ve lost us as customers with the fatty tasteless prime rib(??) you served. My mother put a large piece of «meat» aside on her butter plate since it was inedible and the waitress offered to wrap it for take home. When told it was not edible she did not respond and did nothing to address the problem. Too many good restaurants out there that don’t lower quality and call it a «special.»

I went here for their $ 20 lobster bake night on Wednesdays. Service was great as the waiter was attentive and really nice. The manager also greeted us and asked us how we were. We ordered a spinach and artichoke dip for an appetizer. It was delicious but needed salt. The lobster was also delicious but slightly over cooked. It comes with corn, potatoes, clams and mussels. I don’t eat mussels so they allowed me to get double clams. It was a huge portion for the money.

Great spot in Babylon to grab dinner with friends or family. Also a really fun place to come and dance on a Friday or Saturday night! I’ve been here a handful of times for both, and I’ve never been disappointed. I came last week with my family. We got drinks at the bar and had to wait for a table because they were just clearing out from a party held upstairs. No worries though, the bartender was attentive and we didn’t have to wait too long. Usually when I come I get some sort of fish. I got the Mahi Mahi with coconut risotto and it was very fresh and savory. This dish was on special when we came, but they also have a price fixe menu that includes an appetizer, dinner and dessert.
Their regular menu is large to begin with, add nightly socials and the price fixe menu to that and there are a lot of options, perhaps too many options. The only downfall of my last experience here was that they didn’t have baked potatoes(or any type of straight up potato). My uncle wanted a potato and they didn’t have it, so fries did the trick instead. As for coming on the weekend, they usually have a dj and the dance floor gets pretty packed. They have good drink specials but try and get here early if you can!

Yes I will consider my previous review to be one of if not my greatest reviews of all time, but I have returned to the scene of what to me looks like the absolute downfall of a American society known as The Babylon Carriage House. Hasn’t changed too much in the past 5 years. What we got? I see 30 somethings shaving their heads in order to look«tough» and hide the balding spot. Good try… I don’t think women like the has been UFC fighter look, but whatever floats your boat. Oh and that hand on her seat as you lean in close to listen to her gaggling bullshit screams I havent had sex in years. No more Ed Hardy crowed with the spray tans and plucked eyebrows. They used to be south shore’s finest you know? Ahhh Whats this? a new type has showed up and one that has not been introduced to the horde. Its the 30 something living off the flames of her old Instagram and Facebook post. Yes thats right! and expect to see more of them in the near future as they desperately cling on to times past of what they once were. SMH… hopefully before gravity seriously takes its toll on you, you will wake up from your self indulgent coma. I’m sorry but nobody cares about a 33 year olds new pit mix puppy pictures.(as if anyone cared when you were 20 also) Okay to be serious now. Went in early had a great time. my Long Island Ice Tea was back in a big ass glass and I did get semi loaded off of 1 for a price well worth it. Bar tending staff was great and took notice of everyone trying to get their attention… Love it! Thanks for noticing me. The crowed wasn’t as bad as I described up top, but you get the idea and for anyone who goes to this place knows what they are asking for. I ordered a plate of Calamari after having a few cocktails… Their happened to be an issue with the food as I was near completion of eating it. I brought the problem to my waiters attention and he took it away very quickly. He brought out another plate of the same thing and apologized. After I was done eating he told me the Calamari was on the house. That was a very nice gesture and for that and bringing back my L. I Ice Tea in a proper glass I give this 5 stars. But do something about that back patio! Seriously fix that shit up. I know I’m a smoker but come one! maybe a space heater? or a nice chair that wasnt designed by some one with muscular dystrophy.

I love this place! I’ve been here a few times & am happy each time I come. The décor is great & the atmosphere is nice. It does get busy on Friday/sat night w/live music & the bar scene can make it quite loud. The food is always really good. We went for restaurant week & it was fantastic! The food is so rich & prepared well. Appetizers of note: the BCH Thai calamari bowl is very flavorful! The pulled pork sliders were a restaurant week special & delicious w/pepper jack cheese & cole slaw on top of the pulled pork & served with shoestring fries. The fried oysters on cucumber slices were ok. I’ve had the French onion soup dumplings, which is amazing! Entrees: the skirt steak was perfectly marinated & prepared! The restaurant week special Braised short ribs were pretty good but a bit salty. The blackened tilapia was ok; the coconut risotto it was served w/was too coconutty which is surprising for me to say bc I love coconut! I’ve had a rack of lamb special & it was perfectly flavored and prepared as well. Sides: truffled Mac & cheese was quite good. Dessert was ok. The flourless chocolate cake was like fudge. Cheesecake was nothing special. Did not like the blueberry & pineapple bread pudding. The bread was really good! Dense on the inside & crisp on the outside.

Came here for a bridal shower it was upstairs in a nice private room Brunch was served buffet style with an omelet station muffins, french toast, potatoes(bacon but I don’t touch such an item) super waiters were right on top of everything drinks were plentiful and served rapidly coffee was surprisingly good I do not like waiting on line for food… but I guess there is no way to avoid this unless party has a lot less people I would say this is a very nice spot for a private party

First off: nice restaurant during the day, cougar-fest at night. You have been warned. I’ve eaten here at least a dozen times. But now we are done with the place. I’ll tell you why: We took my mom here for her birthday. I ordered a pasta dish and my wife and mom ordered a chicken special. My mom rarely goes out. Her favorite restaurants are the Olive Garden and Applebees so we really wanted to treat her to good food. Well both chicken plates came to us raw. I mean really raw. Think about when you cut chicken cutlets before you cook them. That raw. So we told the waitress. Apologies all around. No biggie. Then the manager came over. More apologies. It took about 20 more minutes for their food to come back out. They never offered to take my plate back so we’d all eat together. So I ate while they waited. Finally it came out and it was now cooked properly. So you think, maybe they’d comp one of the entrees? A drink? Or maybe the birthday girl’s dessert? Nope. Nothing. A full bill. Absolutely classless. And for that Carriage House… we are done.

I like the Carriage House. But only at certain hours. If you’re coming here, and want to avoid a fist-pumping, clubby-dj vibe, then get here for 8:30−9pm and leave by 10:30/11pm. I’ve gone here a few times with friends, and when you come early, it’s great. There was live music last night which was fun. It was just a guy and his guitar, but he was playing Coheed and Cambria, Radiohead, The Killers… my kind of vibe. The drinks here are delicious and they have a wide variety of beers on tap and bottles as well. I tried the strawberry mojito, and now I am hooked. Actual fresh strawberries muddled with mint. Delicious. Jim the bartender is our absolute favorite. Great at mixing up drinks, conversation, and making you feel at home at the Carriage House. He also recommended the pretzel sticks which were also very yummy but I was too full to eat all three. P. S. They also come with truffle cheese! I’d say the C.H. is a nice place to be on a Friday or Saturday night. Karaōke on Thursdays. But again, after a certain hour the vibe completely changes in here — so go on the early side if you want to avoid that.

14 of us came here on a Saturday night in early December as a get together before the holidays. We made reservations about a week prior and they said that it would be no problem and it wasn’t when we got there and we weren’t all there.(One couple was super late… you all have that couple in your group) The staff was very warm and friendly and our mob went to the bar for some cocktails before dinner… which ended up being a few(see super late couple). The bartenders were not as friendly as the hostess but then again, bar patrons can get annoying so I just chalked it up to one of those nights. The space itself is beautiful. It has a giant bar(that later fuels the party crown that comes in after the dinners are done) a large eating area downstairs and then another area upstairs. Upstairs is where they seated our herd, and after some quick table rearrangement we got comfortable. The staff was super on point and Audrey was the star of the show.(At least I think that was what her name was… It’s on the bill so I assume it was her. I was far too inebriated by the end of the night to remember such things) She always made sure everyone’s glass was full and if anyone had any issues she took care of them right away. I really can not say enough good things about here or the staff at BCH. As for the food, everthing was excellent except for two things(I’ll get to that later). Like I said were were 14 so I can not comment on every single dish, but I do know that everyone was really happy with their orders. Some standouts were: Tuna Tartare, really outstanding, probably one of the best things on the menu. Everyone raved about it and the fish was super fresh and flavorful. Surf and turf Sliders were also really really good and cooked to perfection. Thai Calamari, also a great dish, it had the perfect taste and cooked perfectly. The most ordered dish was Chilean Sea Bass and it was out of this world. Cooked to perfection and the Lobster risotto was to die for.(Although at $ 38 the fish could have been bigger) The two big misses of the night were the pork belly app. How do you miss with pork belly you ask? By smothering it in BBQ sauce! I was cook weirdly so it was almost rubbery and too fatty and the BBQ sauce just masked the natural goodness that is pork belly. IMO, just sear that bad boy and let it’s natural flavor shine. The second was on the skirt steak. It also fell victim or an overpowering sauce. This one was an orange that really made the whole steak inedible. All you tasted was bitter orange and not the meat as you should have. In these two cases I’d say less is more. Skip the flavorings and let the meat shine. Other than those two minor things we really were all very happy with our choices and deciding to come to BCH. We would all gladly return!(maybe our friends might even be on time too! lol)

First course: Pulled pork sliders with shoestring sweet potatoes was excellent, the Gnocchi Bolognese was full flavored and tender. 2nd course we had medium rare skirt steaks, cooked to perfection, could have been a thicker cut and better marinated, still a great steak. 3rd course: pumpkin bread pudding which was a perfect compliment to our meals, and the flourless chocolate cake, also amazing.
