I have been going to Dawn since the 80’s. She never lets me down, wouldn’t imagine letting anyone else touch my hair. From when I used to get Perms all the time, to her now giving me a more updated blowout and cut. She is so sweet, with an amazing chair side manner, always open to listening to what I want that day! Highly recommend her, love this salon location too!

I went to Girasole to get a *big* haircut. I took off at least 4 inches. I was a but nervous to lop that much hair off but I was in very capable hands. The cut itself was $ 25 but for the amount of work put in, I’d say that’s fair.
Looks like I found my new hair salon.

Nice salon in Babylon Village. I came here yesterday for a blow out by Lisa for my engagement shoot. In about 50 minutes, I was shampooed and blown out to perfection with some nice wave action at the ends of my hair (which is quite long). Cost was $ 30, I think that’s the going rate, but I’ve only had solely a blow out done once before without getting a haircut first.
Everyone at the salon was friendly, and Lisa was very nice. I would go again. Only thing that wasn’t offered to me was a drink (ie. coffee, water, tea) that’s generally offered when I patron other salons. The boy thought my hair looked great, and I left happy.

Let me start by saying I take very good care of my hair I only dye my hair with demi permanent color to a dark chocolate brown, don’t flat iron my hair and do weekly conditioning treatments. Well I Wanted a change and went here for a body wave on my birthday with Dawn, but how I wish I could turn back time! My hair is completely ruined and fried. She insisted on doing a directional perm instead of the body wave I really wanted and my hair looked like 90’s crunchy helmet perm! She then started chopping off my hair that ends didn’t curl for some strange reason with really outdated layers. I looked like a mess! Exactly what I didn’t want and so damaged! 6 months later I’m still trying to heal from this! I never wear my hair down and put coconut oil and argan oil in my hair every few days to try to grow out this mess back to healthy hair. Such a learning experience I will never go back to this place! Ladies please Beware this place is very outdated and I really question what kind of training these stylists really have!

I can’t believe this place has so many good reviews. I’ve been here a dozen times and never had a good experience. There’s a lot of yelling and personal conversations going on across the salon, sometimes about some pretty unpleasant topics. I’ve never heard or had an elevated conversation here, I’ll put it that way. I hear a lot of complaining, and sometimes visits from the hair dresser’s friends happen while I’m in the chair. Even though I’m paying full price for my service, other than my hair being done, I receive very little attention. And might I say I find it a bit distasteful to have family portraits and the like taped to the mirror of the salon chair I’m sitting in. There is very little thought put into the client’s experience here.
Oh, and not to mention, if you get your hair highlighted, they charge you an additional thirty something dollars to «blow it out» (i.e, dry it.) Now if that isn’t a nickel and dime maneuver, I don’t know what is.
Despite going to this salon for a few years, I’ve never received any kind of service punch card or incentive for customer loyalty, and I always feel a moderate amount of pain when I get my hair done here. They use really cheap products, including old brushes that really hurt me the last time I went. What surprises me the most is that the stylists can’t tell they are hurting you when you’re squirming around in the chair and wincing. I mean, I’ve spoken up and politely informed the stylists the times it happened, but I feel like you should kind of be able to tell. Once again, very little attention given to the client.
The positives: usually you can get an appointment very quickly and conveniently, and the prices are not bad. Then again, it’s a catch 22, because they split up their services and then charge you for each instead of making it one fairly priced job.

Kelly is the best! She always listens and gives me exactly what I want. whether its a haircut or change of color from ombré to platinum blonde to brunette. Kelly is the best!
Book in advance because her schedule fills up!
Salon is always busy & the ladies who work there always are smiling and genuinely happy to see you when you walk in the door.
I leave Girasole feeling like a moviestar thanks to Kelly & the team!

I have been looking for months for a stylist who knows exactly what I want my hair to look like and Melanie achieved that! She listened and pretty much just knew what would look best on me, she is also super friendly and sweet. The only reason I gave 4 stars is because you can’t leave a tip on the card, it wasn’t noted on their website and the receptionist didn’t mention it either. So make sure you bring cash for tip or else you’ll be charged $ 4 from the ATM. Management did say they would post it on their website in the future.

Girasole, is a great hair salon conveniently located in Babylon Village. The salon has an inviting atmosphere with a friendly and professional staff. I’ve been going to Sara, the owner, for years and have never been disappointed. If you want to feel pampered (and get a great haircut/​hairstyle and color) do yourself a favor and go for a visit!

Do not go to this salon. They treat customers like crap, everyone has a bad attitude, you almost feel sorry for going in there. Wonder how this place is still open.
AWFUL — NOT WORTH IT!!!

I have been going to Sara since she opened at her original location 10 years ago. She is amazing and the only hair dresser i trust with my hair. She is always professional, friendly, and can count on for a good conversation while getting your hair done. She does my highlights and roots, long layers (for cut) and my hair always comes out beautiful. Keri is AMZING with blowouts– i wish she could do my hair everyday. Her entire staff is friendly. I have recommended her /​Girasole to several friends and even had friends use Sara and the salon staff for their wedding! You cannot go wrong here.

I have been going to Girasole since the day they opened. My hairdresser is usually Sara but even if she is booked, any other hairdresser I have gone to has been great. I am always much happier when I leave the salon then when I walk in the door. They always listen to what I ask for and I am always very satisfied with the cut, color, and highlights. They are all very professional but at the same time super friendly. I would recommend it to everyone.

I love this salon! Kerri did my hair and it came out just perfect! She did an ombré and hair cut and did a great job! For the summer she did a light ombré and then I even went back for her to darker for the winter and I love love love it! I highly recommend the salon and Kerri! A++++++

Do not go to this salon if you care what your hair will look like when they finish. Their color, cut, blow dry skills are horrible. I had a full highlight done there and it still looked like I had ridiculous dark roots when I asked to look blonde. I went back 1 month later to see if I could have my roots done to even out this now three toned hair that I had. Well, my roots ended up darker then they were when I originally walked in there if that’s even possible so the girl said oh you wanted blonde? Yes I did the entire time want blonde hair. So we start over and colored my whole head… guess what. No blonde, instead brown hair with red roots… And I was told to come back and pay for additional blonde highlights that were just colored over. Wow, when hair stories down the street told me not to go there I should have listened to them. I recommend not going to this salon. Your best bet is to wait for hair stories to have an opening to have your hair cut, colored and blow dried correctly. Horrible…

Just went to Girasole for the first time and WOW!!! Almost got into 2 car accidents on the way home. I couldn’t stop looking at myself in the mirror. My hair and makeup looked amazing. I felt like a superstar. And the countless compliments that evening was awesome. I found my new salon.

My sister recommended Girasole because I wanted a change in my hair color for the summer and she told me I could trust them. I was a little scared because I have had bad experiences in the past getting my hair colored at a salon (I have very dark hair and it usually takes hours of damaging and burning to go lighter). Well I’m sure glad I took my sister’s advice! I had a few pictures with me as reference and Kelly (who was super nice and so hospitable) did an amazing job! Pretty much exactly like what I wanted. I was kind of scared that it wouldn’t be what I wanted but the results were amazing! I definitely recommend and will most definitely be going back!
