Ate here Sunday. Service was terrible, waiter said he had 1000 things on his mind, but service wasn’t one of them. Been sick since, two of the four people in our group have. Severe food poisoning and I’m still sick tuesday am. Enjoy your meal somewhere else.

The food was just okay. I had a fried shrimp po’boy with a side of fries and fried okra. The fried okra was good. Also, the seafood gumbo was quite good. My husband had the fried shrimp platter. We both thought the shrimp and fries were too greasy. We give this eatery three stars because the wait staff was very nice and very attentive. They tried real hard to make our dining experience a pleasant one, and for the most part it was. The view of the bay was beautiful, the beer was cold, the staff was friendly. It’s just the quality of the food that was lacking, except for the fried okra and seafood gumbo.

I don’t know what happened, but this place has slipped back to the food and service that isn’t worth the drive… too bad, great location and they were off to a good start upon reopening, off my list.

In my 45 years on this planet, eating here was the worst dining experience of my life. We waited 2.5 hours for our meal. The door to the porch was right next to us and would slam every 20 or 30 seconds. This was our first and last visit to the restaurant. We ordered an all you can eat shrimp plate but after waiting 2.5 hours for the initial plate we didn’t have the hours to wait for another round. When the service dragged on we went to the bar to order some drinks a Hopadillo and a Blue Moon. The bartender started making a Blue Hawaiian mixed drink. We clarified a blue moon beer. He confirmed, yes Blue Moon is a beer and handed the completed Blue Hawaiian. The whole place is dysfunctional. There is no reason to go there. Gilhooley’s up the road has better food and Bubba’s Shrimp Palace has better food, the view and good service.

I hate to feel I am contributing to someone’s meth habit when I tip a waitress. However she was extremely friendly. I don’t know what to think of this place. They have an all you can eat shrimp special for 9.99 but the menu says it all you can eat and not all you can carry. The iced tea was bad. Tasted old even though the waitress said it was made at 4. If that statement is true then this means they don’t clean the tea container good between batches I had the grilled catfish and veggies. It tasted good and was prepared well. The condiments were standard. My wife had the grilled shrimp. They were slightly overcooked but ok. The price was higher than I would have expected for the portion size My wife reported no soap in the ladies restroom. They had diluted hand sanitizer as a substitute. What do the staff was their hands with?

We went to eat their for a Saturday lunch. The last time we went there the all you can eat fish and shrimp was an excellent deal for 9.99. The quality wasn’t comparable to Bubbas but the 9.99 was a fair price. This time our visit was very disappointing. We noticed on the sign that they had a shrimp boil for 9.99 so we thought that was a decent price. The problem was Overcooked shrimp in the shrimp boil. I was shocked to get a bill for over $ 50 for two shrimp boil plates and ice tea. It was way over priced for the quality of food. I will never go there again. I could have driven a little further to Bubbas for delicious all you can eat shrimp for cheaper.

Delicious food and great service! If you can, make sure to get the shrimp steamer pot(9.99 Monday-Thursday). It’s so good and a really good value! Fresh seafood at a great price! Gumbo is great, but not very spicy.

Second time eating here. The food is good but the organization of sections to servers is lacking. The first time we ate here everything was good but our server often forgot about us due to her having plenty of tables. That was months ago so we gave it another try tonight. We arrived and were seated right away. Not even five minutes later the owner(?) stopped by our table and told us they were slow and it would be awhile to get our food. Being Valentine’s Day, we understood. Well we didn’t expect to wait as long as we did. While we were waiting, we were hoping our server would bring us the complimentary chips and hush puppies that I asked for when she took our drink order. She told me she would have some made for us since there wasn’t any. They never arrived, but I saw several servers take some to other tables. I asked again and was told there wasn’t any made, I could see a big bowl of them from our table. When our food arrived, everything was good but we heard our server had nine tables so we had to flag her down for refills and to pay the check. That being said, the two stars are for lack of organization dividing sections and never receiving our hush puppies/chips.

A very good experience! My wife and I decided we wanted fried shrimp for what had been here lately a rare chance to get out. We thought about going to a place around the corner, but when we got to our turning point we saw Clifton’s by the Sea had reopened! So we decided to give it another try. The last time we visited it was under different ownership and we left disappointed. I was used to the food from the original which had apparently burned down during the few years I had moved to East Texas. We ordered the all you can eat shrimp. Our waitress Samantha was very friendly, helpful, and on top of our needs while there. She brought us a basket of hush puppies and homemade potato chips with dipping sauce. We had a choice of sides. It also came with a salad. The sweet tea was excellent, as was our dining experience. The shrimp were big and the price of $ 14.99 was very reasonable! We’ll be back, and next time sit outside with a nice view of Galveston Bay!

What was our favorite place when iit was Pod Zus has now become a terrible disappointment. The shrimp and grits tasted like it was out of a box. My husband could not eat the catfish. I am so disappointed. We will not return.

Took our daughter for her free birthday dinner, which wasn’t free as they gave us another tables tab and it was 14 dollars more… we asked for another ticket and they said ok and came back with a ticket with total only, no breakdown of what was ordered? I complained to manager but he did not fix, just said the waitress had done this twice prior… hmm. maybe a gimmick? Anyways first and last time to ever go this place and hope they enjoyed overcharging and by the way we paid for her birthday dinner! They say one never gets anything for free… well we sure did not… and food was just so so and dressing on salad watered down! Do Not recommend…

Hubby and I landed on the patio of this once overwhelmingly popular this week. Now, that it has reopened under new management, we decided to give it a try. We were definitely NOT disappointed. Gone are the pricey entrees of olde. They have been replaced by very reasonably priced standards of seafood fare. We chose to sit outside and enjoy the view of a glassy, calm Galveston Bay sunset. We were greeted by a momma cat and two kittens waiting for a handout. They were people shy and were a nice part of the atmosphere. The server, Nina, appeared with a bucket of condiments, napkins, report cards, and fighting tools. She next appeared with a basket of hush puppies and genuine made in-house potato chips! Those babies we’re delish! We ordered an all you can eat fried shrimp dinner for $ 9.99. We had house salads with bleu-cheese dressing. The dressing had lumps of the cheese. Ummm uh. The French fries were the real fresh cut type with the skins still on them. The meal was topped off with ax wonderful rendering of banana pudding. Great food. p great price. Great view. Great service. Who could ask for anything more? We will return.
