Amazing customer service. They really go above and beyond for their customers. Thank you!

The cutest, quaintest little fabric shop on the main drag of Bainbridge Island. The best fabrics ever! I had no sewing project in mind at the time(nor do I currently possess the ability to sew), or I would have stocked up on all of the swoon-worthy fabrics! Nice handmade Seattle souvenirs, too.

Esther’s is one of those places that I miss so dearly about the Seattle area, and after first visiting several years ago, it remains my most favorite fabric store. The variety and uniqueness of fabrics here is second to none. Admittedly, prices are steep, but like so many things in life, you get what you pay for. They will often have a beautiful(albeit small) selection of designer fabric and many sweet cotton prints imported from Japan that are so difficult to acquire here in the US. The notions are as individual as the cloth, with trimmings and buttons for every occasion. By itself, Esther’s is worth every moment and every penny of the ferry ride to Bainbridge. I am eager to return and replenish my fabric supply with prizes from their beautiful collection!

Imagine you have 15 minutes until the Ferry arrives and you happen to see rockin’ Pac-Man fabric glued to a sign advertising a fabric sale… Welcome to my reality. I dashed in the door and proceeded to scan the aisles filled with cute cloth(both modern and vintage inspired designs). I searched for five minutes before breaking down and asking for help. The fabric lady(maybe it was Esther?!) knew exactly where it was. I even had time to pick out another yard, this time inspired by the teenage employee rocking a cute EGL dress. And that was just 15 minutes… I am pretty sure that I could hang at Esther’s for hours draining my paycheck while imagining the world’s cutest clothes.

Esther’s is a small hidden gem and Bainbridge is so lucky. There is something for everyone and a skilled, creative, supportive staff. Jen, the owner, has exquisite taste and stocks unique, beautiful fabrics and notions ranging from wools, silks, linens, buttons to embroidery stuff and quilting fabrics. During a visit today I found black wool crêpe from Vera Wang and a blue waffle fabric from Maggie London! And anyone with a weakness for pirates is in the right place.(I think Margaret who works there might really be one.)

My Grandmothers name was Esther and she taught me to sew when I was a kid so when I saw this shop I had to go in. This is the BEST fabric store I have ever seen. The selection is amazing and the staff are very nice and helpful. Lots of odds and ends and surprises! Get on the ferries and check it out! This ferry gives Esther’s fabric 5 stars!

My favorite Northwest fabric shop… like I’ve been in SOO many. Love the funky selection of prints. Haven’t seen too many fabric shops with mussels, crabs, and cowboys to select from. I bought the mussels and crabs to make scrub tops for a co-worker. Now he tell his patient’s he has«crabs» or «muscles(mussels).»
