We called ahead to reserve the side room because we wanted to have a group meeting here. The reservation process was fine. When I arrived, about 15 minutes early, there was a sign posted in front of the room that it was reserved(for us) at 6pm. I ordered food, and the young man at the counter went over to tell the people they had to leave. They were a large group, with two of the giant pizzas, which they had barely started in on. They were MAD. One guy glared at me and growled, «They should have told us!»(Apparently no one in that family reads.) Suddenly I was very nervous, that they might take their irritation out on me. They stayed until exactly 6, although they did leave before we had to ask the restaurant to give them a nudge. So that was my first fifteen minutes at Cataldo’s. Not exactly the restaurant’s fault, but as I observed the dine-in crowd, it seemed to me there are a lot of people who couldn’t read that sign, or would just ignore it if it were posted as if it did not pertain to them. The food is pretty good. Our group had pizza, chicken, calzone, logs, and salads. Everyone was very pleased with the portion sizes, and there were several of us who needed boxes to take home leftovers. I had the 4 piece chicken, which is deep fried. The dark pieces were juicy and delicious, the white pieces were cardboard; they were really overcooked. Next time I’ll try the calzone, because my friend said it was really delicious, and it was huge for the price. The place itself is a little divey. Not super clean, and the dings and scratches on the games and tables suggest a certain blind eye to basic maintenance. The employees have worked here for a long time, and they are nice enough, but there can be long periods where there is just no one at the counter. The guy who took my order just walked up to the register, and looked at me. No welcoming words, no «how can I help you.» Just looked. As I ordered, though, he was very pleasant and helpful, since I was a first timer. I think this is what you get at a neighborhood place where most customers live nearby and become regulars. Those of us who are not regulars just need to get into their rhythm. At one point, both bathrooms were locked for a long time. Apparently, they are one-holers, so when somebody is in there, you wait. After awhile, you realize that you don’t want to go into a bathroom that has been occupied by one person that long. We left before the occupants emerged.

Pizza was WAAAAYYYY over priced and was mediocre. Ordered 2 large and it cost over $ 42! They weren’t very big either.

Cataldo´s is a great pizza shop in the heart of Oildale. Located conveniently near both the downtown area and the manufacturing plants, they always have the pizza you need. Home of the Giant Pizza that hardly fits in your car, let alone your stomach. Obviously, the pizza and calzones are their best dishes and they are always made on order. I come here regularly and have never had a negative experience. The pizza is made and served quickly, giving me just enough time to return to work after my measly 30 minute lunch smh. Order at the bar and sit either in the retro arcade or next to the gigantic televisions. When they bring your food, pile on the endless red pepper and parmesan cheese. Delicious! ENJOY! Bottomless drinks, God Bless America! I will admit that I was wary of venturing into Oildale all by myself. That was all without reason. This place is beyond fine during lunch. I definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a tasty, quick meal in a humble setting.

Horrible customer service, owner has no manners and didn’t even apologize or give me a refund after I complained that my slice of pizza took 1.5 hours to come out. Ridiculous, never coming here again

Ordered a pizza to go the other day and all I can is WOW! They really load that pie up with toppings. Excellent pizza. The other Cataldos do not even come close to the quality that this one does.

This pizza is awesome. I have lived in Bakersfield for 10 years and finally went to Cataldo’s. This may be the best pizza I have ever eaten. I just wish I had gone here sooner.

Went there for lunch, got the giant slice of pizza with bacon and drink for a good price. The pizza was really good. Service was just okay. Not bad but also not terribly happy to see you. Dinning room was clean. I would certainly go back again.

I only eat Cataldo’s Pizza at the Roberts Lane location because it is the only one with a real brick oven. Their pizza crust is crunchy, garlicky, buttery and just yummy! The cheese is plenty and the toppings are flavorful. You can’t go wrong with the lunch special about $ 6 for a giant slice and soda. The staff is ok, their appearance leaves a lot to be desired. The guy that delivered my pizza at work made my boss nervous. The interior could be cleaner and less seedier.

The customer service was terrible. The manager got upset that his staff put tables together to accommodate our party of 12. His solution was to sit us on the seedy side with pool tables and beer drinking. Not acceptable with 6 kids. I tried to speak to the manager, no luck, I tried to speak to the owner, no luck. As our food was brought out the«Manager» continued to be rude. As the night went on he got better. My mother wanted to spend her birthday with her grandkids and this was the place she chose, and we all had to sit at different tables. We did not get to socialize over dinner. I drove 3 hours to take my mom to dinner and this was our experience. Terrible, avoid this place

Sandwiches are amazing, pizza is great to but there is better in town, a relative had worked in the back in their walk in and said the back of house is disgusting

If I can give a half star I would. Pizza had a burnt crust. Little to much grease just a bad place to eat

Was told that they would accept my coupon over the phone only for the manager to get all uptight about the delivery area and refuse the coupon. Wasted my time and gas just to be treated rudely would not come again.

Apparently I should’ve found the apartment complex across the street, and made my way into the janitor’s closet, Elaine Benes-style. The lengths I too would go for excellent Chinese delivery, but I’m betting Cataldo’s isn’t worth such great feats of scrappiness. Speaking of bets though… I hedged ‘em on this location and purchased the Unilocal Deal, $ 10 for $ 20, mind you, after I called to confirm that I could use this Deal for delivery. Then, denied. Why? One mile past their delivery zone, and only within the other location where there was not a Unilocal Deal and wouldn’t honor the Deal. One mile. In a driving city. So two delivery radiuses without the consideration of creating a Venn diagram where some may rest within that crossover space, especially a business park with hotels, especially considering someone who has already chosen their business over everyone else, maybe even compromising quality, because of the Unilocal Deal. Clearly I didn’t eat the pizza. Clearly I didn’t take them up on the offer of coming to them for 15% off. Clearly there may be a turf war between the two locations. Clearly, this should be read in an upper crust English accent. Clearly, it’s frustrating to commit to a business without receiving it back, like a one night stand where I showed up to the date’s front door with a single stem rose to be left there, pie and dry.

One of my favorite pizza places! Great pizza, great wings, and you can order online, doesnt get much easier than that. I honestly havent been to their location in years, but we use them for delivery fairly often. The pizza always arrives at your place very hot… and my wife loves their salads. Also, if you have a big group, you can’t go wrong with their super large pizzas. and i mean huge!!!
