Best Mexican food in oildale my family and I come here often. Service is excellent! They are always making sure if you have chips and salsa also if your drink is filled if u need anything else. Great place my kids love this place! My husband and I always get their ranchero burrito its the best! My kids always get their children’s plate taquitos or enchiladas with rice and beans! And of course the horchata is bomb!

Excellent and speedy service. They greet me at my table with my drink and they always know what I want since I always get the chicken enchilada. Yummy!

We went here with my friend and her parents from out of town and the food was good but the waitress seemed very out of place… She was very hesitant about everything she didn’t know how to carry the drink tray and didn’t even try to with the food she brought out one plate at a time from the kitchen, and no one ever got a refill on drinks. But as I said the parents were happy with their California Mexican food I ordered a side of chili relleno and it was my first time trying it from a restaurant and I liked it. My daughter had french fries and they were fresh and yummy. Our food was good the service not so much.

Excellent chicken burrito. The shredded chicken in the burrito was plentiful and quite tasty!

I am incredibly dissatisfied with this establishment. I have been a regular customer at this restaurant and have rarely been let down, however I made a simple order that they were incapable of fulfilling. They had no shame when I asked for it to be corrected, they argued with me and refused to fix THEIR mistake. The owner hung up the phone while we informed him of the issue and insisted we not order from them again. In the industry of customer service, which I have ran many businesses based around customer service and proper etiquette, the customer ISALWAYSRIGHT. I refuse to visit, call, recommend, or speak fondly of this restaurant like I once did. This is a customer lost forever. When you spend $ 50 on food, I EXPECT it to be THEWAY I ORDEREDIT.

The shittiest costumer service ever, they ruin my 50 $ order !! I asked to talk to the manager & the owner Ruben got on the phone & he just hung up on me. So unprofessional. Never again will I go back!

Food was mediocre. First time visit here, and I was not too satisfied. I can feel my guts rumbling already. Diahreeaville for sure.

I first tried this spot on a whim. I was at work & I was craving a breakfast burrito around 2:00PM. I knew my chances were going to be slim to find a good breakfast burrito at that hour, but lo & behold, this restaurant, not even 3 minutes away from my work, had them available! I called to make sure & they said they charge $ 1 extra for breakfast items made after breakfast hours. Fair enough! I was in! I got there, ordered their chorizo, potatoes, & egg burrito, added beans & cheese to it, & an horchata to wash it all down. Now as a Mexican who has had many chorizo burritos in his lifetime, I have a pretty high standard of what a good chorizo burrito should be like. This burrito was exactly what I hoped for! I should mention though, their salsa was the difference maker for me. Once that salsa gets in the mix, it’s game over! Ask for both the hot & mild salsa, mix them together, & you’ll see what I mean. & the horchata was great too! I was so satisfied, I went back the next day & the day after that to get the exact same thing. In my opinion, it’s the best breakfast burrito spot in town. I’ve tried other things & it’s all been solid, but their breakfast burritos will always have me coming back for more.

Love this place. So good and cheap. Very nice people too. The place is a little small so sometimes you have to wait but it’s not bad and it’s worth it. Especially with the delicious chips and salsa to munch on. Would definitely recommend

The food is bomb, but they will charge you for every little«extra» ie tortillas, refills ect. Everything is good except the guacamole and taquitos. The tacos, burritos, rice and beans are my faves.

Love this place so much. I usually get the shredded beef burrito, or the nachos with meat. Their pico is delicious and mixing it with their hot salsa makes the best topping. The people who run the place are also really friendly. Sure, it’s tweaker central and there are some pretty funky people wandering in from time to time, but I can’t imagine no one expects that in bakersfield. Especially in oildale.

I didn’t see what other reviewers saw. It was okay, but not spectacular. Especially with the multitude of other Mexican restaurants nearby. El Taquito is a teeny tiny restaurant. It reminded me of a converted Foster Freeze or something. Want dinner and show? Well, this is the heart of Oildale so the motley bunch of characters milling about makes for some great entertainment. I had the pozole, and while it was a large heaping portion, the flavor just wasn’t there. It was bland and a bit greasy. Towards the bottom it got kind of grainy. Yes, grainy. It was like dirt at the bottom. It didn’t taste good and didn’t feel good on my teeth. Looking around, I’m glad I still have my teeth… I will hand it to them, they are efficient. In less than 40 minutes we were in and out. So if it’s cheap and quick Mexican food you’re into, try this place. Just be wary of the pozole if you value your grill.

Oh mah god. This place. The pico de gallo is so fresh so def. I’m obsessed with the chili relleno burrito with beans and rice inside. It’s huge. The horchata is a big ass cup of goôdness with O.G. Crunchy ice. And if you’re lucky enough to get a table by the window, the foot traffic outside is amazing to witness.

Who would think you’d find one of the best Mexican cafés in Bakersfield North of the River? Well, you can. It’s not a Mexican«restaurant», per se. It’s a Mexican food diner — great, fairly priced, made to order comfort food. Eat there and have a few cervesas or pop in after phoning ahead. The folks are super nice and treat you like they’re glad you’re coming by. We love this place — everything about it. It’s everything you want in a small, family owned eatery.

This is your typical hole-in-the-wall Mexican restaurant. Very small, but the interior was clean and the service was good. I am sure they use lard, because the refried beans, while very tasty, had the lard aftertaste. The rice left much to be desired. I had the hard chicken tacos, which were excellent! My biggest complaint was that I asked for their spiciest salsa and it barely gave me a tingle. I think even the wussiest of pallets could handle their salsa. I will probably stop in again to try other dishes.

The best Mexican food I’ve found in Bakersfield so far. The salsa is good and the refried beans and rice are authentic. I haven’t gotten past the hard shell chicken tacos yet but I plan on trying everything on the menu! I always ask for the HOT salsa for my tacos. The service has always come with a welcoming smile.

Have wanted to try this place for awhile now. Finally had the opportunity to stop by recently for dinner. It’s a tiny restaurant that was filled to capacity when we visited. Fortunately, we beat the crowd so were seated right away by the nice staff members. We tried their Fish tacos and Chile Relleno. I’ve had better fish tacos elsewhere, but they were still above average so 3.5 stars. The Chile Relleno was also above average and 3.5 stars worthy as well. Both items were affordable, and the portions were just right. After browsing through their menu, everything appeared reasonably priced. Even though the restaurant is not located in the nicest area, we will still be returning. I want to try more items on their menu. To summarize this experience: 3.5 stars for the food 2 stars for the atmosphere outside the restaurant(sorry) 3 stars for the ambiance inside the restaurant 4 stars for the fast and friendly service Definitely check this place out! They are worth it!
