Bakersfield has no Whole Foods and a decent Trader Joes it’s great that Fresh And Easy is still around providing good food in this town with very few options that aren’t Walmart or huge food chains.

I’m so happy they kept this Fresh and Easy location open. Since this is the closest grocery store for me, I love coming in when I need something quick or if I need meals for dinner. The staff are always friendly and helpful. It’s always great when you find a product that you like and it goes on clearance. Love it here.

One of the few Fresh & Easy stores that still remain in Baketown, after the downsizing of the grocery chain. It has a good selection of items, kept clean, and people are friendly/willing to help at the self check-out lanes. Sign up for their rewards program if you want to earn some points and free bucks. Not my #1 choice of a grocery store in town(since their prices are still rather expensive), but would come here for the convenience factor.

I love fresh & easy. This location is small but has all the essentials. The staff is courteous and helpful. Great variety for vegan, pescatarian, or those looking for gluten free products.

Good place to stop for groceries in a pinch. The products offered are discontinued so frequently that you cannot depend on an item you need being available. Usually customer service is very good, however, occasionally the CSRs are not available to assist you when the registers require human intervention.

I love shopping at Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market stores. They have a great selection of ethnic, gluten free, organic, and vegetarian items, and carry many other healthy food options. Fresh & Easy stores are smaller than most other grocery stores, but they still manage to fit in just about every food category that you need to cook three meals a day. They may not carry as many different types of cereal or soup, but they still carry enough of a variety that there is something there to please just about everybody. This is one of my favorite places to grab a quick lunch. They have what they call their easy lunch combo. For $ 6, you can choose a main dish + snack + drink from the options in a refrigerated end cap display. There are plenty of options within each category. Under main dishes they carry burritos, sandwiches, California rolls, and a variety of salads. Items labeled as snacks include chips, strawberries, pretzels & hummus, mixed fresh fruit, carrots & ranch, or carrots & broccoli & ranch. Drinks include several ice teas, lemonades, and regular and diet sodas. If you bought the items individually they would total 7 or 8 dollars, but this combo is automatically discounted to $ 6 at the register. Today I selected a package of 8 spicy California rolls, the carrot/broccoli/ranch snack, and a Moroccan ice tea and decided to have a picnic at LIberty Park directly across the street. The food was tasty and fresh and it was easy to just grab the three items out of the refrigerated case near the front of the store. At the Fresh & Easy on Olive Drive they have a microwave and utensils for use by the customers; I didn’t choose anything that needed reheated, but I’d be willing to bet this store has them, too. The prices here are mostly cheaper than Albertsons and Vons but not as cheap at as Winco, though the convenience factor of being able to get what you want and get back out of the store quickly has to be worth something.

I love this grocery store because it is so close to where I live(walking distance!) and the prices are so reasonable! They also carry very high-quality products and fresh produce. I like coming here to pick up a quick lunch or some pasta to make at home. The ravioli and stuffed pastas they have in their refridgerated section are qutie good. For being a small(er) grocery store, they have pretty much everything you need an a typical grocery store run.

This is my favorite grocery store in Rosedale. The service here is always beyond friendly, and I enjoy joking around with the employees I see so often. Seriously, they should hire me already. I’m in there that much! For being a smaller store, they have a heck of a selection. Their vegan and vegetarian stuff impresses me heaps, and what I’m addicted to is their lemon cilantro hummus. I don’t even dig cilantro, this is just that stinkin’ good. I pair it with their seaweed crackers and I have trouble putting it down. Decent wine selection, great deals, tons of organic stuff. Best. Store. Around. Fresh & Easy, I love you so. Edit: 4÷11÷2014 I love this store but partially because, as an introvert, self check out means not dealing with awkward interaction with a stranger. One guy always tries to talk to me. I have bad social anxiety. My one-word answers are a clue I don’t wanna talk. Today he asked if I was picking up lunch. I said«yes.» Again, no eye contact. One word answer. I was waiting on my change from the machine. He walked up and LOOKEDINMYBAG. Looked in! I was so put off by this. Who does that? 100% positive he never would have done it if I was a man. Don’t invade my personal space, don’t feel like you can just open up my grocery bag and have a peek. My property is not yours. If I didn’t love this store so much for the products it carries I would take off two stars for somebody touching my stuff. Ugh.

We went to F&E for the first time this last weekend. We’ve driven by a few times and figured it was worth a stop since we were out of milk. I would say it’s a mix of Safeway and Trader Joe’s. There is a mix of discounted items and organic stuff, including store brands. Prices were reasonable, although I wouldn’t call is a discount store. I picked up some mangoes on sale, so we’ll see how they turn out after a few days of ripening. I guess part of the cost-savings process involves having only self-check lines, which is okay with me. I picked up a discount card above the scanner, which helped me save on a few items. Overall, a nice, clean, well-lit grocery store and I think I’ll be back.

I think F&E are the best grocery stores in town. Every store is very similar: super clean, brightly lit, friendly and helpful employees, not overly crowded, and reasonable prices. You might not be able to get everything that you need, but you will be able to get most everything that you need. I also like F&E because they carry a lot of organic produce, sauces, meats, etc. Previously, you would have to hit up a Trader Joe’s or Lassen’s for organic items… now they are readily available at F&E. Also, they have a discount section which contains foods nearing their expiration date… you can purchase those items for 25%-60% off their original marked price.
