Meh. I’ve been wanting to try Fuegos for quite a while now. My parents were in town, so we decided to take them here. They have a very cute set up. It’s a food truck with an outdoor patio area. I can see how it’s a positive and a negative. It’s totally enjoyable when the weather is nice, but extreme hots and colds would definitely be a downfall. Lucky for us, the weather was perfect at dinnertime. We placed our order at the truck. Prices are definitely affordable, not like the trucks in competition on The Great Food Truck Race. We had two burrito orders, two Fuegos Fries orders, a taco order, and a quesadilla. My husband ordered the chile verde burrito, but like all orders it lacked meat. He also said there wasn’t heat to it. He had to add salsa to make it spicy. My Fuegos Fries lacked meat as well as flavor. There were a ton of fries, but not enough of everything else. They left me wanting more. It was so disappointing. I’m so surprised at all of the rave reviews about their food. I have to say, we looked so forward to being regulars at Fuegos, but sadly, we won’t be returning. I honestly wish I can rewind and go somewhere else for dinner. It was that disappointing.

I would have to say that I heard mixed reviews of this place but if you hear bad about a place just give it a shot. A friend of mine and I went here a few weeks ago and were blown away at how good it actually was. The food is so fresh and theu use such great flavors and ingredients. I am a fry guy, so if you serve a killer fry then you have my vote right off the bat. Their Fuego Fries are killer with your choice of meat. If you want to kill your mouth try the Fuego salsa, it’s no joke. The tacos are good and their sopes are fresh and flavorful. Their salsas are all frwah which is a breath of fresh air. I am sitting here at Fuegos for a third time getting the usual double Asada fries with a side of hot salsa writing this review. They have made a lot of improvements with some good music playing while you wait for your food they have a gated patio with several umbrella covered patio tables and cpmfprtable chairs. I don’t really know the hours but you know they are open when the green gate from Rosedal Hwy is open. Try everything once and make sure your first choice is the Fuego Fries. I know we will be coming here more often now it is warming up. Keep on Unilocaling and maybe I’ll see you around.

This place is the best Mexican food I have ever had, besides my family’s mexican food. We have been to many Mexican restaurants and they do not compare to the freshness and authenticity as Fuegos Taco Shack. My only disappointment, is they never give you enough sauce. But on that note their sauce is the BEST around. Especially their green sauce. Unfortunately since their remodel, their outside seating is not as comfortable as it used to be. Most of the pics in here showing their place is old pics from before the remodel. We go out to eat here at least once a week and on some weeks two times. Every time we ever go here the parking lot is always full. So they are very popular. I would recommend this place to everyone who loves Mexican food. Thank you Fuegos for your food and for your kind service. We hope you stay in business for many many years to come!

Total 4.0 Unilocal stars. Linqua the Bomb. So tender, flavorful, fresh. Pastor the Bomb. Smoky just right, Chrisp here there just right. Moist. Flavorful. Asada… I had much better. Texture and varying size meat chunk is certainly different. Would pass on the Asada next time. Was going to later order to go Burrito Pastor, Lingua taco after my lunch there but their Line was too long. Busy. Its Saturday 12:30 noon Oh hell. Just Got back in Line to get That Order to Go. Foodies Funnies do happen Understand Tacos here $ 1.99. See my Lingua taco To Go in white container. Sorry to See it seriously LACKING in amounts meat. Thus I’d give my experience today just 4 Unilocal stars. This place is pretty busy. 4 guys, one gal works in the Fuego Trailer. El Taco Loco Truck Panama Ln, Carniceria El Amigazo have my Unilocal’Rs heart. And total Foodie Love. El Taco Loco has/can have the best Pastor Burrito. Carniceria El Amigazo have Most Memorable Tacos(and Taco Tuesday is $ 1 for a Taco). **Truly** as tasted by a Foodies Heart. Fuegos salsa is Great, similar to Los Tacos on Wible(tho LT meats here double amounts). El Taco Loco and Carniceria El Amigazo’s Salsa is Awesome. Fuego’s Burrito has just average tortillas wrap, so so. Rice is mushy. Not whole. 3.5 stars experience. Will or may not order Burrito here next time. It is Tasty. See my inside wrap picture. Lots to eat. Tho did’nt eat most of the Wrapping $ 1.99 Tacos has to be near perfect with ample meat. Perfect was not hit. Whether this is important is open to ponder

Last friday February 19th, I was itching for some new place to eat. I’ve noticed this food truck situated next to the Shabby Girls store. Off I went. There were a few cars and it did not take long to order and get the food. I ordered one each of chicken, asado and al pastor tacos. It was heaven. Really great tasting food. I was about to leave when I got a text from my wife informing me she was on her way home. I asked her to stop by Fuegos and have dinner. By the time she got there, there was a long line but still she got her food in a decent time. She ordered the Fuego fries. I ordered 2 more tacos. It was fantastic. The Fuego fries was such a large helping, I had to get a container to take it home. After all the praise, why not 5 stars? If it was just the food, it is for sure 5 stars. The reason why I am giving it a 3 stars is because the unpredictability of its hours. Last sunday, I was driving home from Van Nuys. It was about 6PM. I called to check if they were open. The man who answered the phone said they were open all day but now they were about to close early since it was sunday. OK, I am fine with that. I wanted to take my son there to experience the food. I told my son we will go on monday instead. Monday February 22nd, we got dressed. It was 5:30PM. Drove to Fuegos and they were closed! This was disappointing. We went instead to Tacos Las Salsas 1.5 miles further east and had a pleasant dinner. The tacos at Las Salsas were even cheaper than Fuegos!

Fuegos twice in 4 days?! Yep! I sure did! I LOVE this place! I think I’m addicted. Help meeee! My siblings were visiting this past week from SF and we were dying for some hood Mexican food! Like the kind we grew up on in the San Fernando Valley(coincidentally enough, these Fuegos guys are from the SFV, too!) We usually just go to Juichos downtown but it was too late to go all the way down there. We found Fuego’s here on Unilocal and had to give it a try. We ordered one carne asada burrito, one al pastor burrito, two orders of Fuegos fries, one order of regular fries, one Gringa, one Sopes and one Fuegos burrito bowl-basically almost everything on their menu.(For 4 of us. Ha!) And we ate it all, like a bunch of piggies! It was so delicious! The burrito’s tortilla was perfection. It had just the right amount of dough and fluff to it(I hate overly doughy tortillas). The rice on the inside reminded me of Vietnamese sticky rice; mushy but not rice porridge mushy. I don’t know that I’ve ever had rice like that inside of a burrito before, but it was awesome. I’m gonna go ahead and say that I prefer that kind of rice over anything else! The carne asada meat was tender and not dry like most places and the pico was good, too!(I had the al pastor burrito today and I like it more than the carne but they’re still two damn good burritos!) I was too busy stuffing my face with the burrito and didn’t eat much of the Fuego fries. I did eat the plain fries though and those were delicious. Perfectly crispy. The salsa was amazing. I wish they gave you more with your order but you could pay for extra. This is now my «go to» place for burritos! I read that some reviewers were upset about the inconsistent hours, but follow them on Instagram for announcements! They post daily!

Fuegos, where are you??? I wanted to come here a second time before writing a review. Dropped by several times in the last 4 weeks, and the entrance to the lot has always been closed. Called a couple of times, and there has been no answer or voicemail. Maybe they are on vacation or maybe they’ve moved. I have no idea. Anyways, I’ll just write about my one experience here which took place a couple of months ago. Drove into their lot, and there was one other vehicle there. Their food truck/trailer was parked in front of an outdoor dining area. After placing my order, I sat at one of their tables waiting for the food. I ordered 3 different tacos. Each taco was garnished with some cilantro and onions plus a side of lemon slices and radishes. If memory serves me right, I had an Al Pastor taco, Carne Asada taco, and a Lengua taco. They were all delicious! Was really looking forward to returning here to try more of their menu options. Hopefully, they will be returning. Fuegos Taco Shack and Grill is pretty darn good. If you can find them open, then give them a try.

Stopped by about a month ago to see what the taco hype was about. Food was amazing at Fuegos 5 stars; however my overall experience was a 2.5 stars. It was a super cold evening when we stopped by for dinner and we bought tons of food. I have 2 growing sons who are always starving so this place fulfilled their food cravings. For my dinner I ordered 2 carne asada sopes and 3 tacos… Enough to have me wanting to come back for more. What brought my ratings this low is because my 10yr old son was shaking even w his jacket, gloves and a beanie on he was super cold so, my husband asked the older woman at the window if they could turn their outdoor heater on and she said she would… 15min later… 30min later… 35min later… 45min later and finally leaving at 55min later… They never turned the heat on for my freezing 10yr old… Note: when we were there they weren’t even that busy at the time so I’m not sure why they didn’t turn it on… I would like to visit again for their lovely food but not to eat at their outdoor tables to freeze… Maybe in the summer time we can swing by and dine in… But not soon. It’s too bad… This maybe the best carne asada fries in town. Hope the owners take this into consideration and not as a negative review. If you have outdoor seating then you have to accommodate to your customers as the weather has been pretty cold this winter in Bakersfield.

Really, really good. My dad had told me all about this place, and I finally had a chance tonight to try it out. Their mouthwatering Instagram posts built me up for deliciousness, and I definitely wasn’t disappointed. We had(collectively) carne asada fuego fries, carne asada sopes, and pastor tacos. Honestly, I’m not usually a fan of pastor. It doesn’t normally hit the spot like regular carnitas do. However, the pastor at Fuego’s was fantastic. It had so much flavor and character and it’s definitely my MOC(meat of choice, may need meat-hab) here. Now I looooove me some sopes any day, any time, any meal. They are little edible cups of Mexican food deliciousness that make huge messes to eat, but even the scraps left over from the wolfage are tasty. Fuego’s didn’t disappoint with their sopes. I had mine with carne asada, and imagine it’d be equally great with any of their other meat choices(pastor, pollo, lengua). Their salsas(especially the green one, although spicaaaayyyy) was super flavorful. Here it comes… the fuego fries. Now I try not to stay too biased due to my blurry escapades through San Diego’s PB taco stands that are rampant with perfect styrofoam plates of carne asada fries at 2am after the bars close. I understand, not all places can emulate the source of the fries + Mexican food hybrid, and I try to give all places that make the effort at least a solid pat on the back. I listened as my husband ordered the fuego fries… hesitant, but ready. The result: Fuego’s ROCKED the carne asada fries. The fries stayed crispy even with all the toppings and the salsa/cheese/meat/fry ratio was spot on. I would hold up my perfect 10 card on these, prompting a stadium of applause haha. And next time I’m missing PB’s carne asada fries — I’ll head to Fuego’s for sure. The service was the cherry on top(or perhaps the radish on the side?) that earned this 5 star rating. The guys working were very friendly. I listened on and off to the banter between each worker & customer, and they were consistently sociable and eager to please/answer questions. Even pushed up to noisy Rosedale Hwy with the incessant noisy brodozers barreling by, of course making it hard to hear orders, these guys stayed pleasant and patient. I’ll definitely be back. Totally worth a try. Even for a little taco truck, their service and food walk the walk for sure.

I’ve been trying to find a place closer to home where I can get carne asada fries and I think I found it in the form of their fuego fries! Yes, this place is difficult to find even if you are carefully looking for it, especially if doing so at night. The entrance is surrounded by green fencing right and taco flags directly after the little girls boutique on Rosedale(coming east from Allen Rd). The first time I went was at night and I had to slow down a lot to make sure I didn’t miss the entrance. The entrance is much easy to find during the day. Parking inside can be challenging and will fit at most 7 vehicles. The truck is farther back on the lot with a patio containing tables and benches/chairs. There are only 2 lamp heaters. The menu is pretty simple and contains standard street foods: tacos, sopes, quesadillas, torta, burritos, fries, and burrito bowls. They offer glass bottled drinks in a refrigerator next to their truck. What my group ordered: –Tacos: Carne Asada, Al Pastor(pork), & Lengua(beef tongue — don’t knock it till you try it!). Tacos are topped with meat, cilantro, & onions with a side of radishes and salsa on two corn tortillas. I enjoyed the carne asada and lengua tacos best. The flavors were good and the addition of the salsa added some needed heat. –Fuego Fries: Carne Asada fries yes! The fries are crispy so they don’t go soggy as quickly as some other places. I’m not sure what the sauce is that they added on top(looks like cilantro dressing?) but it tasted delicious on the fries. Now I don’t have to drive 10 minutes to get good carne asada fries! –Carne Asada Torta: **I ended up taking it home and ate it 2 hours later** This is your standard torta. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t that great either. I’m actually surprised the bread wasn’t super soggy after letting it sit for awhile. –Carne Asada Sope: This was my least favorite of what was ordered. It is fried masa topped with refried beans, meat, lettuce, pico de gallo, cilatro, and more. The fried masa itself was good, but the beans were salty and took over the item :/It was still pretty decent. The service was pretty spot on. The lady taking our order was very patient and helpful with our decision making. Since the first time I went was at night with my sister, she had asked for the heat lamp to be turned on and thankfully they got to it in a timely manner so we didn’t freeze. I’ll definitely be a returning customer!

I’ve been following them on Instagram for a while now. Their food looks delicious, and I finally was in the area to test their«best al pastor in town claim». The spot is pretty easy to miss, especially at night but we found it thanks to all of the cars pulling in and out. There were quite a few people there so I wish the parking was bigger to better accommodate everyone. There’s plenty of outdoor seating and the best part is that they have heat lamps! So even if you go at night you are nice and toasty. I loved their sign on their window stating that it is Fresh food, not fast food. Everything is made to order, And they still manage to crank everything out in a timely fashion. I ordered the Fuego fries, al pastor style. (7 $) The fries were nice and crispy, the pork was very tender and had a great flavor to it. I do wish there was more pico de gallo and other toppings on there, the potato and meat to the pico and cream ratio was off so after the first few bites I was only eating fries and meat(which don’t get me wrong is still great) since I was taking it to go, I asked for 2 salsas, the red and the Fuego. I didn’t realize until later that there was only one in there, I’m unsure as to which it was but I hope it wasn’t Fuego because it wasn’t spicy, although it still had a great flavor. When I’m ariund rosedale I’ll definitely come back, but I will eat there so that I can add more pico de gallo . As for the claim to the best al pastor in town, I’m saving that honor for Huicos on 18th.

This spot at night was little hard to find because it sits back on an open lot and when you first see it was you drive by all you see is Christmas lights. We had to circle back around the block again and while slowing down we noticed the truck too this time. I like their setup as far as tables and chairs/benches but when eating there at night, the Christmas lights are not just enough. I will return here but earlier in the day. I just wanted to get that out first. The menu is not real robust but is what you expect from a taco truck which can be either good or bad. What that depends on is whether your food is that good to sustain a small menu and Fuegos definitely handles that well. The options off the menu are Tacos, Sopes, Tortas, Burritos, Quesadillas, Fuego Fries and burrito bowls. With any of the selections you can pick Pollo(chicken), Asada(steak), Al Pastor(pork) or Lengua(beef tongue). All of the meats offered are done well here cause my family ordered almost everything except a burrito and burrito bowl. OURORDER: **Two Tacos — Al Pastor 4 Stars **Two Tacos — One Pollo and One Lengua 4 Stars We enjoyed these tacos very much and I would order them again, my only negative is that without the hot sauce they can be a tad dry. **Two Sopes — Carne Asada I didn’t taste these, but my wife said they were pretty good, I did ask her to compare them to another place that she loves to order Sopes and it was close but not as good. **Torta — Carne Asada — 4.5 Stars The torta was quite amazing and the reason for that is the asada had great depth in flavor and the bread was grilled which created a better envelope for the stuff inside. All of the ingredients tasted quite fresh, but I cannot stress enough how much flavor was packed down in this torta. **Gringas(Quesadilla w/meat) — Pollo — 4 Stars I did not taste this one but I gave it 4 Stars because my 10 year old is a very picky eater. Now a quesadilla is not hugely impressive but he loved the chicken added. By pleasing his picky palette is a great positive in my eyes. **Two Fuego Fries — Carne Asada — 5 Stars My older son and I ordered these and the portion size was generous. I’m glad they chose fries that can uphold the pico de gallo, sour cream, asada and such because some places choose fries that cannot live up to that life. What that creates is a very, very soggy mess that tastes great but does not help the dish at all. This was not an issue here and again the ingredients were very fresh and was bursting with excellent flavor. I might be mistaken but I believe they sprinkled Cotija Cheese on top which if you’ve ever tasted it, it has this awesome saltiness that provides that extra oomph! One other downfall is that they were low on supplies for refreshments so we were limited to what we could drink. I hope they take that into consideration as to keeping their stock replenished for those who eat there or are looking to take one home. **One last gripe and I hope this is heard over any other one on this review. I requested the heater near our table to be turned on and was told they would turn it on. The weather was cold but we wanted to sit there and enjoy the food. They never turned them on which to me is not respectful. And they had customers but the 4 – 5 individuals in the truck had time to pull away for 1 – 2 minutes to turn these on. I think that is the key factor here for them, your food is awesome but your environment should match that. We will probably come again, but definitely will not eat there, take home for us!

In college La Villa was my spot. Then Los Tacos because it was closer to work. Finally… hello yummy tacos to Rosedale! And the Fuego fries were amazing. It looks small(probanly because we went at night) but it filled me up and my sister ate half of it too. Its a very small menu and does not have much of a beverage selection. You may miss this place cruzing thru Rosedale. It is tucked between Rosedale Middle and Allen Rd. It is a little taco truck with its own parking lot. At night you can see it with its Christmas lights. The staff is totally awesome. Great customer service! They turned on the outdoor heaters for us! There was quite a bit of people this evening too. So the word must be out! If you are craving some legit taco and live in the Rosedale area, this is the spot!

Well… Let’s just say fantastic! Customer service was on point, super friendly. I like the outdoor atmosphere, kinda fun. Now the food, I got chicken taco, which looked super basic but boy was I wrong. The chicken was marinated perfectly, and was super moist. I also got carne Asada taco which also packed some serious flavor. I also got an al pastor Burrito which was soooooooo gooooood. I loved the meat, but all the other ingredients were on point as well. The salsa actually made me cry a little, from heat and happiness! So I do recommend this place for sure.
