Hungry Howie’s Pizza

I’ll be honest, the pizza is quality and actually really good. The customer service however is terrible. Even from the management who is supposed to take care of customer concerns. After having already picked up my order and gotten home with it I open the box to see that its not how I ordered it. So I called down there about it and basically received the brush off from the manager, Jewelia G., whose tone of voice was less than polite, verging on snide. She offered to put the missing toppings on the already made pizza if I «wanted» to come down there but that was all she could do. So I had the choice to either accept less than what I paid for or drive all the way back down there just to have them throw toppings on a, by then, barely warm pizza. I’m sure my hungry kids would have loved to wait 30 more minutes to eat cold pizza. Jewelia handled the situation very poorly.

Depending on who is working the service is fast! Beware delivery use to be fast now just forget it .four stars is for the pizza because it never fails love it. Improve on the employees.

We have had the Hungry Howie’s pizza in Tehachapi, so when we saw tbis one on the east side on our way home, we had to try it. I ordered online for pick up and we had a bigger order. The order was ready within 20 minutes and our order was all correct. It was fast, convient, cheap, and tasty. We will definately do this again!

Boyfriend and I live downtown, and order pizza from this location pretty often. Their pizza is great, don’t get me wrong, but their customer service is total shit.
We’ve been at our apartment for a little over a year, and they are the only affordable pizza option that delivers to us, aside from Dominoes and Pizza Hut. Tonight we put in an order, and 20 minutes later we get a call. They don’t deliver to us, and it’s going to take up to three business days to refund the charge on our credit card. Ummm what?
I told him that we are pretty regular customers and we get deliveries from them pretty often and he just repeats that they don’t deliver past union ave. So i ask to speak to the manager. He tells me that he’s busy and I’ll have to wait. I tell him it’s fine I will, and he says it’s gonna be a long time. The manager is REALLY busy. I say that’s fine and get put on hold.
The manager picks up after about three minutes and I explain the situation, and he tells me the same thing. He goes on to explain that the online ordering is broken and accepts orders from outside their delivery area. Ummm bullshit! Not only have I ordered over the phone (and also called in when I messed up on the online ordering), but I originally tried to order from the White lane location and it wouldn’t let me because we’re out of their area!
So, after a little more back and forth he agrees to bring us our order just this one time then never again. I’m still annoyed, but whatever, that’s fine. I hang up, then my phone rings 5 minutes later, and they tell me they need to run my credit card again because they cancelled the first one. Holy shit, nevermind! I’ll get nasty pizza hut pizza and be done with it.
And all this reminds me, a few months back I accidentally double ordered when ordering online, and I immediately called in and asked to cancel one of the orders. I was told they had no way to cancel payments on online orders so I’d have to just take both orders. Weird that they can cancel them when they don’t feel like delivering…

I will not judge your company by this one experience, you were polite and the gentlemen I spoke to about the cancellation was polite. I will update my review again once I try your product.

We are glad to see a Hungry Howies be closer to home. However, this restaurant needs to have better service. The young lady taking orders over the phone is really quick to cut off your order even if you are still ordering. I had to keep telling her, «No, I also want… «because she kept asking, «Is that it? «. My order could have been bigger, but she kept rushing me. The wait is one hour, but I understand it’s a Saturday at 3pm. I hope they find friendlier employees soon. Hint to Howies: Make it sound like you want to take my order and not like my order is bothering you. I know you are busy, but we can stop bothering you with our orders.
