Best burger joint in Bakersfield, hands down. The burgers may be on the small side, compared to fast food chains, but the quality more than makes up for it. And don’t even get me started on their fries. My mouth is already watering.

So all the reviews said this place had the best fries in town. Is it like some special fries you have to order? The ones I got with my burger were pretty run of the mill. I was SO hyped to try these amazing fries and maybe that’s why I felt extra let down. I was expecting amazing but just got good. And they were good, don’t get me wrong. The cheeseburger was great too and I liked how fast the food flew out the window. I would go back any day but would someone please tell me how to get the super awesome OMGobbledegook Goooood fries?

Seasoned. Crinkle. Cut. Fries. …oh ya, and crushed ice, too. We know the real reason behind that ear to ear grin as you pull in the drive-thru. You may opt for a cheeseburger to round out the meal, but really — you’re just here for the fries.(That would make a great t-shirt) Don’t worry. We won’t judge. Just order twice the amount of fries instead. If your significant other/child/friend/co-worker mentions sharing your goods — tell them to get their own. Because sometimes sharing isn’t caring.

The reviews were so good about the fries and burgers so we gave it a shot. It was good but not great… I could not figure out why the fries were said to be so awesome. As I said, they were good but not great.

Best place to get food from ever. Everything is super good and they are always busy. Not the best side of town. They have the best fries ever and have a really good avocado burger. Will go back soon.

A good old school joint, pattys a little thin but combos cheap. They sprinkle the bun and fries with lawrys red seasoning. Taste great big crinkle fries and a big portion at that. Also has a 2 car drive thru the only down fall is no indoor seating area.

One of my favorite fast food restaurants! This place is the best. The cheese fries here are a must.

I love their fries. I always order a pepsi. the carbonation is ALWAYS just right,(I’m assuming they change/fill it often) to keep it fresh. convenient 2 lane drive thru.

Root beer King is always really good. The food is made fresh to order every time. The employees are always very friendly and pleasant. The fries are served plentiful and very hot, very fresh. I always get the #1 cheeseburger combo with a side of ranch and a root beer. I don’t know what they put in their root beer but it’s very good. Better than that of most places I have tried. It is in a sketchy area infested with bums and sometimes they will come up to your window while in the drive thru and ask for change or money. That’s why I am docking a star. That gets annoying. Management should ask the bums to leave, in my opinion.

The only reason I put 4 stars than 5, is because of the grease content! Lol Jk I really enjoy this burger joint, I enjoy their deal: buy 3 fried burritos and get 1 free, same with corn dogs. not a bad deal! DINTFORGETTHEFRENCHFRIES!

Easily the best fries in Bakersfield! Crinkle cut with lots of seasoning salt. I really don’t know much about the rest of the food here cause I always order large side of fries(well done) and a Dr Pepper(with crushed ice!). This used to be a Rally’s, so it has two drive-thru’s… not much of a wait here.

Not the best but not the worst so take it how you want to. Had better burgers at home but the prices are good. Who knows your taste in burgers might be different and you might actually enjoy eating here. I am going to give them one more try and will update this review accordingly.

Root Beer King has my favorite Burgers in Bakersfield. They are very fast, the prices are decent, and very consistent on quality. I come all the way from Rosedale out in the Westside to eat here.

This place is probably my favorite drive through in town. I am a huge fan of California style pastrami sandwiches, and this place has the best in town. Their fries are well season, crisp, and fresh. I’d definitely recommend Root Beer King to anyone looking for good drive in style food.

Root Beer King is my go-to place for cheeseburgers on the east side of town. I tried it for the first time about three weeks ago when a co-worker of mine raved about the fries. I get the King Burger with Bacon added. The fries are thoroughly seasoned and they also grill seasonings into the bun of the burgers. They have a variety of milkshakes, and as someone pointed out to me, they offer a butterscotch milkshake, which is somewhat of a rarity.

FIRST!!! There are articles upon articles from New York City, to Houston, to LA about the best burgers in whatever town you are in; it’s just one of those all-american comfort foods that everyone searches for. Just a few of my favs: — New York: the rustic«Burger Joint» hidden within the ground floor of Le Parker Meridien, and«Shake Shack.»(i’m not a huge 5-guys fan) — Houston: Fuddruckers(yes, a chain), Whataburger(yes, another chain), and Hubcap Grille — LA(from what I’ve had so far): In-N-Out(worth all the hype) and Father’s office. My fav in Bakersfield? This place(cue the hissing). I know I know, it’s like announcing where the best slice of pizza is in New York or where the best BBQ in Texas is at; burgers are just so personal that people get offended if you don’t recommend their personal favorite. But, take it or leave it, my favorite burger is at Root Beer King on Niles on the east side. Now, what makes this burger so delicious. 1st is the location, this place is old-school chic; I can picture old-school dudes in leather jackets, hair full of grease picking up chicks in old Chevys. Yeah it’s the east side, but it’s kind of what I picture when I think about a California burger joint. 2nd is the beef. I don’t know what the blend is, but it has a great flavor. There’s nothing fancy here; the burger just had cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, and whatever that sauce is, but they do it very well. The fries are perfectly crispy and come sprinkled with this awesome seasoned salt. 3rd is that it’s effortlessly good. Sometimes it just gets annoying when people wear all the fancy car-hop gear with the paper hat and the overly-excited demeanor… something is just very artificial about that. This place isn’t like that. You walk/drive up, order your food and they give it to you… no BS, no chit-chat, no bubbly personalities… it reminds me of New York.
