They have three restaurants, one in Lamont, one on South H and Panama ln. and one near this location. This location is considered one their«food trucks.» They have other food trucks around Bakersfield as well. I can honestly say I’ve visited just about every location and none of them disappoint. This is by far my favorite seafood restaurant. Whether you just want to grab a quick tostada de ceviche, or sit down and enjoy a shrimp pasta this is the place for you. They have a variety of selection on their menu to please everyone. They even offer kid friendly entrees. My favorite items are the shrimp empanadas, and the pasta brava(spicy shrimp pasta). The shrimp empanadas are always served freshly made with a side of green and red salsa. They are stuffed with good portions on cut up cooked shrimp and are to die for! The green and red salsa are pretty spicy so I always use it in moderation but the empanadas taste delicious with either. The pasta brava is a pasta made with a white sauce, linguini pasta, bell peppers and deveined shrimp. The plate is decorated with cooked mussels which I never touch. The pasta taste great with the perfect hint of spicy. Everything on the menu can be ordered to go or to eat there. This location in particular has picnic tables set up under a shaded area. Don’t be fooled by its appearance either, the food is just as delicious here as it is in their restaurants.

All i can say is BOMB.COM! This place is more than i can want when it comes to mexican style seafood! They have the largest variety ive ever seen in a menu at any mexican seafood restaurant ive ever been to. I live 3 hours from Bakersfield but amytime i will be passing through it will always be a definite pit stop to indulge. I highly recommend this place, the surroundings dont look too appealing but dont let that fool you, this place is a hidden treasure. Anything you order i promise you will love!

My girl and I went over to the east side so she could try this out. I work with many Latin people, and had been coming here for years. We usually have our seafood Chinese style, but I was wanting a shrimp cocktail, some aqua chiles, you know seafood done up Mexican style. We ordered three dishes, and shared. I did bogart the small shrimp cocktail though. We did enjoy our lunch. This place is very loud. But it is a festive place. Its a fun place, I would have liked to had a designated driver and had some beers. A very neat place Come try it out.

Great Seafood restaurant with lots of choices. I had the Vuelve a la Vida(Come back to life). It is a seafood Cocteles loaded with Shrimp, Octopus, clams, and the fake crab in a cold broth with veggies. I used to be afraid to try this, but after having it once, I am hooked.

Wow! This place is definitely a hidden gem! It is located on the Far East side of Bakersfield right by Mercado Latino. If you’re not looking closely you might pass right by it. If you do stop and try it you won’t be disappointed. I’ve been stalking Las Islitas Unilocal page for a few month now. Reading reviews etc and also heard from a few friends that it is worth the drive to dine here. I came here tonight for a celebration dinner and was so impressed. The place has an on point, beachy vibe. With a name like Las Islitas it would be weird if it didn’t! Lots of cool nick knacks adorn the walls and a few nice paintings also. Love the hand painted mermaid. Okay the food! I wasn’t sure what to order here. But from reading the Unilocal reviews and looking through the pictures already posted, it seemed I couldn’t go wrong with the Camarones Veracruzona. This dish was delicious. Not spicy. But very good. The rice that came with it was very good also. Not a fan of the beans. I can over look that. Great micheladas and cold! Loved it. Food was a 5+ rating. Service was outstanding! We had a big group of about 8 of us. Food came out all at once, hot and fresh. Our waitress was very welcoming and attentive to all our needs. If you were like me and debating driving over here… DOIT. You won’t regret it. Las Islitas, 5 stars!

Ok first time here. Came to celebrate my mother’s Birthday, which I found out they have a mariachis band here every Sunday :) So that was really AWESOME! It gets packed but the atmosphere is really GREAT. Our waiter was wonderful :)(great service) Now the FOOD. I got the camarones veracruzana dish. OMG! Is was #Delicious ! Salad could have had some dressing but a little lemon and we are solid. My sis had fish tacos and of course she offered #Sobomb. Next time I will order some of the those aswell. So definitely coming again on Sunday.

The new one on Panama& S. H overcooked and dried out my shrimp fajitas. The service was crap too. I give it two stars though because I really liked their red salsa for the shrimp amd the mariachi that plays on Sunday.

Completely legit. Hope you either speak Spanish or are adventurous with your food, because there is no ingles aqui. Tacos de pescado are so damn good. Cocteles de camaron are good too although you do have to doctor it up a bit. Fortunately there are plenty of hot sauces on the tables, including my favorite, El Yucateco habanero. So glad our friend told us to come here, even if he did mean to send us somewhere else! Haha! This will be a must stop anytime I have some spare time in Bakersfield. Incidentally, we were here early on a Monday evening, and it wasn’t much wait time. Plus they were pleasant enough to a guerra like me, so the reports of slow, unfriendly service didn’t hold true. I hope a place that only serves mariscos is busy! Busier means that the fish is as fresh as can be.

This place is always busy. I suggest not to attempt to go on a weekend or holiday. I used to like going to this place. The last time I went there was for Mother’s Day. The wait was almost an hour & if it were just me, I would have left but my mom wanted to go there. So to make a long story short. We waited 45 min(after the initial hour-long wait to be seated) to find out that the waitress had went home and forgot to put in our order or transfer it to someone. We told the guy that we were leaving & he said– that they had realized this about 15min ago and our food was coming up. They apologized but not much else.

These guys have the best shrimp empanadas I’ve ever had. Oh my gosh I couldn’t quit eating them. They have really good food. They are kind of off the beaten path on the east side of town but well worth the drive. Very clean and nice atmosphere with roomy tables. Service was very good and we will definitely be back for those yummy empanadas!!!

It was by chance I went to this place and its great seafood. So far I have going at least twice a month for my seafood fix. It’s pretty simple their menu and is all outside, no indoor place to eat. No drinks also to remind everyone. But there’s a store connected to the Islitas called Rene’s Market where you can be anything to drink for yourself. There is another Islitas and its a restaurant by itself on Chamberlain. It’s the big brother of this small one and its good also. Overall just for the food is 4 stars. You won’t be disappointed. Check it out of you’re in the Bakersfield area.
