I returned to Lucille’s and I’m really glad I did! They completely redeemed themselves in my eyes. This time I ordered the pulled pork sandwich instead of the tri tip sandwich. Perhaps I should have ordered the same thing in order to properly compare both of my visits, but pulled pork sounded better and it was definitely the best choice. The pork was tender and flavorful. They don’t put sauce on the sandwiches, which I prefer. I personally like a lot of sauce, but this gives people the option to put on as much or little as they want. They have several sauce options on the table. I also got a side of mashed potatoes, which were moist and flavorful. Perhaps one of the biggest surprises was the macaroni and cheese that one of the people in my party ordered. I NEVER like mac & cheese at barbecue or fried chicken places. Generally it’s mushy and the cheese is liquidy, as if it’s been sitting in soup all day. This one, on the other hand, was cooked al dente and there was a ton of actual melted cheese on it. Our server was kind and courteous, and everything from our drinks to our food came out promptly. I will definitely be returning soon. Writing this is making me want it again! If you go, I recommend the pulled pork, you won’t be disappointed.

Very Expensive, but I wouldn’t expect any less from a restaurant in the Mall. I have been here 4 times since they opened. The food is good and service is decent. Not my go to for BBQ in town, but still a good option. Cucumber margaritas are on par with any other place and just enough kick. I had the turkey dinner plate once and thoroughly enjoyed it. Two people can definitely share a plate and be full.

My husband took me out to dinner last night and chose Lucille’s for their barbecue. We haven’t been here for a while. We had a couple of the Lucille’s Rum Punches and split the Front Porch with ½ a barbecued chicken, ribs and two kinds of sausage(barbecued, and hot links). Of course we had to have their biscuits and spiced butter as well. My husband chose sides of collard greens and a baked potato. All I can say is that everything was perfectly cooked, smoky and delicious. I would have preferred the grits to the baked potato but sometimes we have to let the old man choose. I have to say I was really pleased with the sausage. We ended up taking most of the chicken home as there was so much food. I would still recommend this place to anyone wanting good barbecue.

This place is great! My entire family loves going out to eat here. For me I don’t eat meat but my family does and they have loved everything they have ever ordered from here. There are even things on the menu that I can order and love eating. Their dinner rolls and the butter it comes with are to die for. The appetizer of their fresh home made chips, as soon as it hits the table my family is digging in. The booths are very comfortable and the facility is very clean. All the people who work their are very attentive to your needs. I would recommend Lucille’s anytime.

The first two times I ate at Lucilles, I was pleasantly surprised by the taste and quality of the food! However, we ate there again with my daughter in law, and the service was terrible, and the food was awful. I had the brisket sliders, the meat was like jerky, burned up and unable to eat. My daughter in law had the burnt tip salad and there was hardly and meat. really? Yikes, and my fiancé had the pulled pork sandwich which was very dried out, so sorry to see this restaurant go downhill.

Their corporate representative contacted me immediately, apologized and offered me a gift card to return and give them a second chance. I did and I’m glad. It was great. Service was amazing and so was the food. I will be back again soon!

I’ve heard a lot about this place and I’ve been looking forward to trying it in spite of the fact that I’m not big on the taste of barbecue sauce. Being that it was a Sunday afternoon it was quite busy but the wait wasn’t too bad. We had drinks at the bar while our booth was being cleaned and the bartender was very nice while we waited. The menu is very large and has a lot of different varieties of southern BBQ food three of us decided to go with their famous signature BBQ chicken salad and my boyfriend got the pulled pork sandwich . While we waited for our food to arrive the waitress brought our freshly baked biscuits with a side of apple butter(you can ask for regular butter if you prefer.) The bread is so delicious and can easily fill you up. However, knowing my love for bread I took it easy and waited for my salad. All of our food arrived and it pretty quickly and were huge and serving size. The salads were piled high with tomatoes and onion straws and cheese and lettuce and spinach and barbecue chicken. As I mentioned before I am usually not a fan of BBQ sauce but wanted to give their signature dish a try. I really like the taste of the barbecue sauce that came on the BBQ chicken salad so I decided to give their other bbq sauces a try. They have 3 different sauces on the table, which is a great idea and very convenient. They have a spicy, original, and a mustard like sauce and all of which were quite delicious. I feel like I have been converted into a bbq sauce fan in one afternoon. The portions were so big that most of us left with food for lunch tomorrow, and all of us with a smile on our faces. I definitely recommend the restaurant and looking forward to trying some more of their menu items. Yeeeehaw!

This was our first time eating at Lucille’s. I had the Jambalaya and the wife had the Gumbo. Both were very good although I think overpriced. The service was OK but nothing special as our server appeared to be new. All in all we found nothing that would make us say we wanted to return soon but we probably will return,

2.5 Unilocal Stars Experience. Awesome Mash wt Incredible Brown Gravey. Awesome SweetPotatoe fries. Actually beyond awesome. Beef Ribs very moist, tender, TASTY… But Very Cold center. Interesting Im not the Only Unilocal’R making this Observation After a wait all the above foods finally arrived at the Table. Then they went and got the Water I requested at ordering time. Ok. After foods a third Eaten… the Server said I’ll bring you To Go Containers. Guess they were Iron Gating their front main Entrance. Guess they close at 9pm on Friday. Well what do we Do. Cold Beef Ribs. Took for ever to get water. All these To Go Containers on the Table. Foods 1⁄3 Eaten. You know this Solo Dinner made them near $ 30 Bucks, was shopping big sales at Valley Plaza Mall. One Day sale at Macys, spent near $ 200. Well Hell. What Do one do as related above? Box Every Damn Thing Up and Get the Hell Outta There!!! And maybe give 2 Unilocal Stars. What would you do!!! ?. Oh those sweet potatoe fries was the Bomb. Beyond Yummy. So I ordered Extra to Go. For this Im going to Bump a Star. You know if I had brought the whole family it would’nt be that hard to spend Couple $ Hundred Bucks. Drinks Cost would ADDITIONALLY add up too… depending on the Game they have on their TV’s. But Honestly. But if we gotten Cold Foods… I’d be sick to my stomach taking Family Group there. And Especially if took half hour to get our cups cold waters. This is So 3 Unilocal stars Funny. And if it were’nt for the Sweet Potatoe Fries… The Whole family would have a 2 stars Unilocal Experience. For say $ 200 plus. Oh!!! Never at end got the warm towels to wipe BEEFRIBBBQ Sauce off hands and LOWER Face. Nor paper Towelettes. Of cource some other customers gets them. Why is this??? Should I deduct ANOTHER one Unilocal Star???

The food is amazing! Service is wonderful! The only bad thing is that it’s located at the plaza. But hey it actually may help the plaza?!

OMG. I found my home! I love BBQ and the sides on the menu made me think of my upbringing in the south! Cheese grits? Fried green tomatoes? Really? Get out! I haven’t had those since I was a wee child! I was so excited to see ribs, links, chicken and catfish on the menu. We started off with the Burnt Ends(brisket) appetizer. YUM! Diped in the Hot & Spicy BBQ sauce. I would have been happy just eating a plate of those! Crispy little nuggets of hickory smoked goodness! The cornbread was served warm and the apple butter was creamy and GOOD! Wedge salad was super crispy with red onions, crispy bacon and blue cheese crumbles. The portions are decent. I had the 3-beef rib plate and hubs had the bbq chicken. The cheese grits were decent. Not sure if I like the sliced up veggies in there. The greens were good. Very flavorful. The fresh veggies were buttery with some pepper and other spices. We shared so we were up to our eyeballs in BBQ sauce. Love that they give you warm wet hand towels after dinner because I needed it to clean all the BBQ slop off my face and the globs that unfortunately dripped down my shirt. I didn’t leave room for the peach cobbler or the Snickers Ice Cream pie. That will be on my next visit! The Libations Menu is diverse with lots of featured cocktails and special«Lucy Drafts.» Fun atmosphere, GREATTUNES and a great bar area. I WILLLBEBACK.

Absolutely best experience I have ever had at a lucilles bbq. The service was friendly and the booth We sat at was roomy for my family. Ok so the food! We got the brisket nachos, wowwowwow. Very good, the brisket was super tasty and the chips, cheese, beans were perfect. We also got the bbq plate with beef ribs, which were out of this world good, perfect seasoning, and sauce and super meaty!!! We also had the tri tip, which usually I don’t like anywhere else, but this was perfect. The smoke flavor put it over the top, plus I love the sauce. It also came with bbq chicken which was good. Overall my usual experiences at a lucilles is maybe three stars but at this location I have to give them what they deserve. I do recommend going here!

The place was not very busy, there were a lot of open tables, but we still had to wait about 20 minutes for a table. When we were seated we complained about it being cold. Instead of moving us to another location they said yes, it was cold because of the windows(we were not near the windows). We placed our order, and it seemed to take a long time to get our food. Barbeque is usually pretty quick because they can’t cook to order. Now on to the food. I had a salad, which was pretty good. Even their Bleu Cheese dressing was pretty good. Then came the BBQ. Our table shared a Rib plus one meat platter with Chicken. We also ordered the Burnt Ends appetizer. I asked if their Burnt Ends were crispy, and the waiter said no, they are not crispy. I don’t like crispy Burnt Ends. Our Burnt Ends were mostly crispy. They were so crispy that we couldn’t eat them. The ribs were disappointing. We had the Baby Back ribs, which had 4 bones. They were tiny, and had very little meat on them. They were also dry. The chicken was pretty good. Had some good flavor. All in all I wouldn’t waste my time on this place.

We had lunch here today. It’s in the mall at the entrance. Get a booth by the front if you like people watching. Now for the food we ordered a Tri Tip salad and a Tri Tip plate. The salad was large with big slices of Tri Tip on the top. The Tri Tip plate has a choice of two sides and since I just started dieting per my New Years resolution I choose fresh vegetables. I will purposely pick them next time. They were crispy delicious and seasoned just right. The Tri Tip delicious and the Au Jus sauce was the best. Emily was a great waitress and when we come back I want to get in her area. She brought us wet hot hand towels to clean our hands at the end of our meal. By the way the biscuits with apple butter are worth the trip alone. Thanks Emily we are coming back soon.

I have been to several Lucille’s Bar-b-Que restaurants and the food at this one tastes pretty much the same as the others. The difference is that this one is actually inside the mall and I don’t like open air mall seating. The food was uninspired and standard. Nothing wrong with it, but nothing outstanding either. At other locations, I have found the employees to be super proud of the restaurant and excited about serving what they believe to be a great product. The Bakersfield location has dull and disinterested employees who did the bare minimum. Just blah. I’ll eat here again, but it won’t be a special place for great Bar-b-Que. It will be a convenient place if I am in the area.

My mom and my sister decided to pick a place and long behold Lucille’s Smokehouse BBQ. This is actually my second time here and I am nothing short from impressed about this place. I had an appetite so the waitress recommended the Back Porch which consist of Beef Ribs, Chicken & Tri Tip With Garlic mash potatoes and Mac and cheese. The waitress actually picked the side for me since I was indecisive with my sides. The beef ribs were scrumptious, it’s just the right texture and flavor with a burst of barbecue in it. The chicken was tender, the tri tip was mouth watering, the Mac and cheese and the garlic mashed potatoes were alright. When k finished my meal the waitress was impressed that I finished my meal since most people cannot finish it. Well I am glad I impress with you with my eating skills Anna =]. Before we go our meal she asked if we have been here before we were all here for the second time. And she told us if we were in the mood for some home made Lucille’s biscuits. We all agreed and let me tell you. Their biscuits are TODIEFOR! Their customer service, as we entered we were greeted with a welcome and asked the party size and brought us to our booth. Their food timing was excellent and we didn’t even wait long. Parking was somewhat difficult since it was by the mall.

Came here over black Friday weekend. We were so excited because we didn’t have to wait forever to be seated. Howevee, maybe that should have tipped us off that this isn’t the best Lucilles location you will ever go to, but there is also nothing wrong with it. I split the fried catfish and fried shrimp with a friend and we substituted the coleslaw for greens. The greens were my favorite part. They were seasoned nicely. The shrimp was pretty good but mostly only if you used the dipping sauce they gave you. However, the catfish was very disappointing. Super bland and even with bbq sauce, I was underwhelmed. Too bad. Husband got the fried chicken sandwich and while it was good, his chicken was also bland. He had gotten some gravy for his potatoes and once he added some to his sandwich it tasted better. The potatoes were really good though. Moral of the story, the sides didn’t disappoint and anyone’s who’s had the warm biscuits and apple butter knows that’s the main reason to come anyway. BUT the actual fried food was sadly lacking at this location. Oh and our waitress was really nice and attentive for most of the night. But she disappeared toward the end of dinner and we had to have another waitress close our bill. However, a big party came in around that time so I am assuming she got busy with them so no biggie.

Throughly enjoyed the experience at Lucilles! I had the southern chicken sandwich and my buddy had BBQ link sandwich. Both were delicious. They have three signature sauces and the Memphis was out favorite with plenty of vinegar tang. The staff are in training and a massive training crew is insuring great service and attention. The décor is casual and leans towards the nostalgic — very cool. This is a great spot for a good lunch or dinner. The place isn’t too noisy or loud. Good stuff and slowly smoked meats that are tasty. Enjoyed the shoestring fries and potato salad. I’m coming back. Signature Bloody Mary is bomb.
