Loved the fried onion rings. Burgers are eccentric and good. Beer and desserts are the best. Had an amazing staff. The place is hard to find but when we did it was a very happy outcome. Definitely a slurge for us but great food.

The food was great but the service was spotty. We had to keep asking for basic things like spoons and forks and water… things that most people would automatically plunk out there on the table to begin with. It was cute, and the food was, as I said, tasty. But I had to track down items for eating and drinking throughout the meal. Although it helped me burn off a few calories, it took a little bit of fun out of the experience, and I didn’t get a tip.(haha)

I was craving a cheeseburger and Unilocalers told me to go here… I listened and I am freaking happy I did. sofa-king delish I kept eating and eating and eating. I ordered an appetizer, then a cheeseburger AND onion rings and then dessert… it was all too good to stop. Minutes later I went into food shock and turned into a blob on their nice lil patio but it was fully worth it!

Absolutely delicious! A great stop for lunch and ice cream. I enjoyed a burger with perfectly melted cheddar and thick, juicy bacon. Another family member had the meatloaf plate and commented that everything was«so different than normal but SO good.» The Oreo-Peppermint and maple bacon ice creams were rich, creamy and filled with flavor! Staff was hard at work; they were kind and accommodating.

Moo Creamery will now become a mandatory stopping place every time I stop through Bakersfield on my way home from Kern River. This quaint, 50’s diner-style spot might be off the beaten path in an industrial center but soon enough a path will be worn to it. Our server was totally flexible with our odd requests of lettuce wrapping sliders and to-go cups and when to bring out the ice cream. ANY burger selection can be made into a slider plus they offer a slider happy hour for $ 4/slider($ 1 extra for lamb, understandably). Moo was four for four on happy customers with our sliders, ice cream, and drinks. I’m already looking forward to my next Kern trip to make the Moo visit.

Stopped by from San Diego on my way to Santa Cruz. My niece from here recommend this place and I am glad I stopped by. The food was awesome. I had a burger«en fuego» and it was en fuego. It had fried jalapeños that made the taste of the burger even better. I didn’t add anything to it, the ingredients worked perfectly. I tried a local saison beer and for dessert I had the cinnamon ice cream that was out of this world. The food is very fresh. I am definitely coming back.

I was a little disappointed with Moo Creamery — it didn’t hold up to the hype I was expecting from my fellow Unilocalers. Our party of 4 decided to go here before heading back down to San Diego. DH ordered hot fudge malt which was pretty basic. I thought it was good but didn’t wow me. I got their pickled tongue sandwich which was $ 9 and it was small and didn’t come with any sides. I think it was a little much for the amount of food I got. DH got their breakfast tacos for $ 9 and while the flavors were there, price wise — not worth it. The most sad thing is that service was really lacking. I understand that we came about an hour left before closing but I don’t think that excuses the lack of proper customer service. Sorry, I won’t be back nor recommend this place.

I have been here only a handful of times. Unfortunately, I can’t seem to spend less than 40 bucks at Moo’s and I’ve only had lunch. Pros Absolutely love the menu’s uniqueness and range of items. Who doesn’t love quality burgers, ice cream, and beer. Bakersfield is renown for having nothing to do but drink, grill/eat, and cool off from the summer heat so Moo’s is ideal. Food is amazing and the ticket times are reasonable, staff is cool, dining area and restrooms are always clean, and it’s a very relaxed atmosphere. Cons Getting in and out of the parking lot sucks during lunch and good luck trying to eat here with only hr lunch. Secondly, the cost is above average but so is the quality of food, but 40 bucks for burger shake and fries. And my last issue is Mickeys malt liquor and the fact they have it on draft.

Let me start by saying I love Moo. I love the food. I love the ambiance. I love the innovative food choice. I love that I can order a Gluten Free meal, and be assured I will get one. I love that Moo serves grass fed beef and Protein Sweet Potato waffles. Moo was our go-to place for family celebrations. We’ve been to a few ice cream contests. Seriously, for good food and a fun atmosphere, Moo is your place. The problem is the service. Whether ordering take out and the kitchen getting your order right or a server checking in to be sure you have all your need, the service is very, very inconsistent and frustrating. I’ve had hostesses tell me one thing and the manager run out to catch me before I get in my car with a different explanation. We’ve had servers deliver food to our table and never check in again, except with the check. Today tipped the scales for us — I arrived early and found 2 spaces at the bar. My husband was on his way to meet me. The server greeted me right away, with a menu and a glass of water. I told her I was waiting for my husband. He arrived a good 20+ minutes later. In that time, the server did not come by again — not to ask if I wanted something else to drink or see if I wanted an appetizer while I waited. My husband finally arrived, and we waited another 10 minutes, but still no server. At one point, the server did look at me from a distance, I smiled and nodded, but no acknowledgment and no appearance. We decided to leave and eat elsewhere. I know Moo is very busy on Sunday mornings, yet, servers should be prepared and trained for that. If you want good food and have time to go during non-peak hours, more than likely, you will have an enjoyable experience. Just don’t expect too much if they are busy.

When you go to Moo, it has to be a commitment. This just isn’t your average restaurant in which you walk in, get seated, order, get your food, eat, and leave. At Moo it is much more of a process. A much looooooooooonger process. But the food is delicious. So you have to decide: Do I want to commit the next two-plus hours to eat some delicious food? Most of the time I say no. The frustration of waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting(you get the point) is more than I can handle. But when I end up making the commitment, I’m never disappointed. Except for the wait. Which is brutal. Back in the old days of Moo, they had a bizarre system of waiting in line, ordering at the counter, then finding a place to sit and waiting forever for your food there. Now they have a full server system where a diner checks in at the door, is seated, then gets really frustrated at how long it takes to get the food. Are you seeing a theme here? Let me give you an example. My wonderful wife and daughter joined me recently to visit the Moo and we decided to sit outside. My wife and I decided on the build your own mimosas(bottle of prosecco and a jug of fresh squeezed orange juice) because we roll like that, and my daughter got her favorite drink in the world, ice water. We poured a mimosa, sat back and relaxed in the sun, and enjoyed a wonderful conversation and a game of trying to come up with a food item that starts with every letter of the alphabet. Then we poured another mimosa and we finally had our order taken. I ordered the chilaquiles, my daughter the kids chicken strips and french fries, and my wife got the pulled pork street tacos from the daily specials menu. Then we discussed what we wanted to do the rest of the day, played a game of trying to come up with a girls name that starts with every letter of the alphabet, and poured another mimosa. Don’t get me wrong. At lunch, I don’t throw back my drinks. I have a whole day ahead of me. But our bottle of prosecco was long gone by the time the food arrived. But when it arrived… it made it almost worth it. These are the best chilaquiles I have ever tasted. The salsa roja that the tortilla chips are sauteed in is full of flavor. I mean BIG flavor. Not too spicy(although I wouldn’t mind if it was) and full of robust tomato, jalapeño, and garlic flavors. It is then combined with Oaxacan string cheese, cotija cheese, crema, onion, avocado, and cilantro, then topped with two over easy eggs. Nothing could be wrong with that, right? But it gets better. It is served with tomatillo salsa that adds a bit of tang. The best part is that a diner can substitute chorizo or pulled chicken for the eggs, but I suggest going big time and adding the chicken with the eggs. The eggs are necessary, and the chicken adds just another depth of flavor to make these perfect chilaquiles complete. Both of my dining companions’ choices were excellent as well. The pulled pork tacos were simple but the pork was seasoned excellently and it came with a chipotle mayo, guacamole, jalapenos, and a delicious salsa that complimented the pork well. The chicken strips were even good and the french fries were seasoned perfectly. I guess that’s the point with the Moo. Everything that you will order goes above and beyond in flavor with delicious sauces or some other complimentary item that takes the food to the next level. I despise ice cream, but my wife and daughter each had some and they loved it. There are some unique flavors, that if you’re into that sort of thing will keep you busy each and every trip to the Moo. So the next time that you have a couple of hours to waste, go to the Moo for some delicious food. Maybe bring a book — or write a book — while you wait. The food is almost worth it in the end.

I came here one time about 3 years ago, and I enjoyed it, but it wasn’t memorable for me. I decided to go again since they had some rare beers on tap that I wanted to try. First thing I noticed was how big it got. There used to be a wall on the left side. It’s torn down and it make the place look bigger. It was a busy night for this particular event, but we were very lucky to find seats. The menu selection is huge, and everything looked so scrumptious! I was undecided on which burger to get, so the waitress suggested order it in sliders to try them both! Awesome concept to have their burgers available in smaller sizes. They cost about $ 5 each. I went with their Spanish Chorizo slider and 24 Hour burger with spicy garlic fries. Both burgers were good, but the 24 hour burger stole it for me! It contained sharp cheddar, honey cured bacon, caramelized onions, arugula, cream and a sunny side up egg. The egg on the burger was perfectly toasted, and the yolk ran off beautifully. The spicy garlic fries were awesome too. Very nice kick at the end while maintaining the garlic flavors. Overall, I really enjoyed the 50’s style ambience, the service and food. I will definitely come back in the future to try their other items(especially the bacon ice cream, which was out). We were allowed to bottle share, as well, so if you have a bottle to crack open I’m sure they’ll be open to it!

One of the best nights at Moo. My wife and I decided to go on a Wednesday for the Flights and Bites. Kim did an awesome job paring the beer with the bites. He food was cooked to perfection. We had brisket taquitos with guac, seared scallop, flank steak with a mushroom blue cheese sauce, a ham & cheese on a pretzel bun. Which I think was best of show. Then what Moo does best a desert to die for!!! All of the beers were from Firestone-Walker and as I stated earlier they paired perfectly with dinner. The night didn’t stop with just those few tastings we spent another hour tasting some of Kim’s stash along with several others that the patrons brought in to share. I have to say this will be a regular hang out on Wednesday evenings. Thanks Kim and all of the great staff at Moo for an awesome evening. We we met some great people that have the same passion we do for Craft Beer! So an update to my 5 Stars!!! Sooooo really disappointed in Moo tonight. We decided to sit at a table instead of the counter mainly because my daughter and son n law joined us this evening. Right from the start we noticed a huge difference in timing and quality of the service. Not sure if the young blonde was having an off night or if she was just new. But she was not only slow but not attentive to what was happening in her area. So to start, it took about 10 minutes to get a taste of one of the beers from Alpine. You would figure that if you just wanted the little taster cup of beer that maybe you should check and see if you wanted that beer or a different one. Again it took a while for her to check back and when she did she basically took our dinner order and finally took my drink order. So my wife ordered the Pita Chips and Humus which is an app and wanted the Chili Fries for her meal. The kids ordered burgers and I ordered the Asian Nacho’s which was on the specials. As the place was emptying out about 20 to 30 minutes the food started arriving. So instead of bringing out the Appetizer Pita Chips early it comes with the meal not a huge deal breaker but should have come as a app. So everyone but me got their entrée. After about 10 minutes the young blonde server stopped by and asked how everything was looking at me with no plate in front of me. I stated I must have been bad because I didn’t get an entrée. It took another 10 minutes for what I think was the manager to say she was really sorry that my entrée would be right out. My guess is someone didn’t put the order in to start with. I decided to just cancel the order as I was past the hungry stage and was done for the evening. Now again the server didn’t check on the table for a while and when she did it was more like she was ready for us to go. She did bring a certificate for a free entrée out with the bill which I left at the table. I don’t want something for free just fix the issue!!! We will return and we will just sit at the counter where we know we will receive the service you should get. I hope they figure this out because the food and beer selection is really good.

The last 12 months, I have grown to become a fan of Moo Creamery. I remember coming to Moo Creamery the first year that they opened. I was not a fan. Tried them again a few years later. Still not a fan. Service would take forever for mediocre tasting food. If I had been a Unilocaler back then, I would have rated Moo Creamery 2 stars. Told myself that I would never be dining here again. Our friends, though, really love eating at Moo Creamery. So, we have returned several times in the past year to give them more chances to impress. Each subsequent visit has been consistently impressive. The menu at Moo Creamery is constantly changing which can be frustrating at times. The following items are a quick rundown of some food that I have tried here in the last 12 months: Quinoa salad was good Basil Lemonade is uniquely refreshing! Sweet Potato fries are super good. Bacon fried rice was just okay to me. Peanut Butter Crunch burger is the !! Stella Sundae is fabulous! Peanut Butter Fudge Brownie ice cream is terrific! Bacon Blue Burger is another fine gourmet burger! Meaty Moo Chili is great. Pita and Hummus is very good. Butterscotch cookie is delish! I now avoid coming here during peak times because the wait can be very long otherwise. I do not come here when I’m starving. Not going to tell you the best times to visit cause I am selfish. Have brought plenty of out of town relatives here, and they all like the food. Service has been on point since we’ve returned. I recommend that everyone try Moo Creamery! I’m glad that many of our friends convinced us to try Moo again because we would have been missing out on some very very yummy food!

BF has lived in Bakersfield for almost 2 years & didn’t try this place out until… yesterday. Unacceptable! He was raving about all the great reviews so I had pretty high expectations coming in. I’ve realized that when you set the bar too high, you’re only gonna be disappointed. Such is life – I kid! Came in around 9:30PM or so. Do not trust Google Maps! I really wanted to turn around & go home, but the BF was able to route us to the diner. Thanks bro ;) We ordered 2 burgers, a side of truffle fries & a scoop of chocolate chip ice cream. I’m not sure what all the hype is about this place. I was pretty bummed out when they brought out our food. The buns looked like cheap cafeteria bread from elementary school that were slightly pressed on a panini machine to give it a «gourmet» look. Greens were skimpy. Meat tasted a bit undercooked. I asked for medium well and the whole patty was pretty pink. Burger was dry & I was, overall, unimpressed. Truffle fries were slightly better, albeit too salty. BF didn’t seem to mind. Ice cream was WAY too sweet. Also, the ice cream flavors were pretty generic. No mind-blowing flavors available :( It’s hard to review this place bc I’m comparing it to other«most reviewed places,» but overall, I’d say it was just alright. 3 stars for being open at 9:30PM, decent fries and service. If anyone wants a real burger, check out Bachi Burger(in LA& Vegas) or Plan Check(LA).

One of my all time favorite dessert places. Has a cool theme when you walk in and is a good stop for ice cream, a burger or even just a beer. I had the Whiskey Caramel ice cream and it was amazing. Perfect blend of flavors and they topped it off with whip cream and malt. My fiancé had the brownie a la mode and it was delicious as well. A definite must stop at this location if your traveling through. Bugers here are awesome and i have yet to try he veggie burger but i hear its awesome and that’ll be my next meal!

Still as good as the first time we went. We were seated promptly and our server Michael checked in with us right away. He was a great server, never even had to ask for a refill. They were busy with the lunch crowd, but you would never have known. He was on top of everything. We started with the fried cauliflower and fried zucchini. I don’t know which I liked better. Both were so good. I mean yeah, it’s totally health food turned naughty. There’s got to be some vitamins in there somewhere still right? Haha! We split a pb&b burger and the atomic burger. My hubby and I like to half things so we can try more. I think we still prefer the atomic burger as our fave, but we are spicy people. I’ve been waiting for the peanut butter burger to come back on the menu and I was not disappointed. The peanut butter flavor is subtle and not over powering. My daughter also had it and said she was glad she ordered it, two thumbs up from her. We also enjoyed some of the moo fries. Just take already tasty fries and dump yummy stuff on top… real bacon… need I say more. We of course finished off with some of their signature ice cream. We had the Stella sundae, I will have one of those again. For me it was complete perfection. Brownies. Toffee. Pshhhh. Yeah give it to me. I’m ready for a nap. Lol. I think I shall have delicious dreams after that lunch.

We were driving through Bakersfield and we were looking for a place to have lunch and we found Moo creamery through all the great Unilocal reviews. First of all you can’t get to the restaurant from the street address. You have to get to it from a back street called Commercial. Cute ambience and friendly waitress. We ordered a regular cheeseburger and it was the most delicious cheeseburger I have ever had. Super juicy on a soft brioche bun with a spicy thousand island dressing. They cook them to a perfect medium. We shared the burger so we would have room for the reason you go there which is the ice cream! My hubby had a vanilla malt which is his favorite and he said it was good but what I had was over the top amazing. Bacon ice cream! It was actually maple ice cream with caramelized bacon. I can’t stop thinking about how good it was. I now have to drive back to Bakersfield 100 miles to go back and get some more!

OK, we were on the I-5 heading south and we were tired of all the typical places that you would normally stop to eat at. McDonald’s, Burger Crack, Jack in the Joot, etc. Thanks to Unilocal,we found Moo Creamery, only issue was that it was bit off the beaten path and in the heart of Cow City(Bakersfield) Either way, we made the trek. It’s in a really odd location. Imagine a nice burger spot in the middle of an industrial complex area. Yup, that’s where Moo Creamery is at. However, once we brushed that aside we were soon to experience an amazing foodie experience. First, the best milkshake I’ve EVER had. No joke. The best, and it was with flavors I normally don’t even get. I can’t imagine how how much better it could get if I got flavors that are my favorites. The burgers were all done to perfection and we might even have a contender for the top burger place in California. No joke, they were that good. Overall, this place really did it for me and I would come back in a heartbeat. Top notch all the way around.

This place is flat-out awesome! If you have not eaten a burger here… you are missing out. I had the Mediterranean Lamb burger which was to die for. Everything here is made from scratch all the way down to all condiments and ice creams. They also have a much better beer selection than I expected. I will eat here every time I am in Bakersfield. Craving a burger that is made from the most delicious, hand made, juicy, and cooked to a perfect medium-rare to order beef? Yeah you are. Once you find this place, and it may take some time as it’s located in a random spot, you’ll be able to enjoy the perfect burger. Grab a beer too while you’re there. Oh, and a shake because they looked delicious but after beers, burger, fries, and fried pickles, we were good. Next time, we will know for sure how delicious they are. Moo fries. Fries deliciously salted and peppered, covered in caramelized onion and melted cheese, then topped with bacon. Dang! Fried pickles. Currently residing on the Happy Hour menu. May stay to reach the regular menu. Thick fried, but not too heavy, balls of heaven. Ask for extra white instead of red dip. Dang! Atomic bacon cheeseburger. Honey cured bacon, sharp cheddar, habanero ketchup, chipotle mayo, jalapenos, pepper relish and iceberg. Medium rare, still mildly bleeding piece of amazing beef. Dang! Had a couple of beers. Alpine«Pure Hoppiness» IPA. We drink a lot of beer at a lot of places and the was the first time we had that one from Alpine. Dang! Thanks, Moo Creamery. You’re sweet. Dang sweet!
