I have never in my life experiences such a terrible yogurt place! I asked to sample a flavor and it tasted dirty and I said no thank you I’m going to hold off… the guy with the toupee said we charge for samples no free samples!?! Seriously? It smells old and musty in there so I just walked out ZEROSTARS

I’m giving this 5 stars because the experience was unique and provided a great conversation while we ate our ice cream, which wasn’t bad. The discussion centered around other hilarious Unilocal reviews and how bad the guy’s toupee is. He seems like an OK guy, just standard grumpy old man stuff. It’s kind of endearing.

Well, TBH, the smell is the first thing you notice. Unlike a bakery where the smells make you want to leave with everything they have, this smell just makes you want to leave. But we are staying across the street at the hotel and didn’t want to get back in our car and it was nice to walk over. That being said, I’m not sure about the pricing… for example, one scoop is $ 1.99 and if you get two it goes up to $ 4.75. So I guess get two single scoops and save 75 cents. You do get a generous scoop so it’s a fair price. As far as the toppings go, yes it is just the basics. It’s not like Yogurtland that has 75 toppings and 7 kinds of yogurt. It’s very basic. It has 4 flavors of froyo and 12 kinds of ice cream. Also, the owner is nice, but not the out going person. So you’ll be asked if you want some ice cream and that is as personable as it gets. Lol. Yes the carpets could use a cleaning or replacement and the décor could use a good dusting, but for an O/O type of place it isn’t «bad». If we were not staying at the Residence Inn across the street we would have driven to a different place with better Unilocal reviews. It’s almost like the owner made it 31 years in business and he’s waiting and biding his time until he can retire.

I honestly believe this place is a genuine racket. When you put it all together, it just makes sense. The place is dingy, dusty, and smelly. The quality of the treats is horrible and the prices are horrendous. The reason this place is still in «business» is because the sales are irrelevant. I’m sure the store front is a cover for money laundering or some other illegal activity happening in the back. Places like this just don’t survive unless something else is going on. With that said, I gave it 1 star because the guy’s toupee made my wife and I giggle and a giggle has value. So if you want to see the toupee of the century and you’re willing to enter a bizarre/disturbing environment for it, then visit this joint. Just be sure you don’t end up getting shanghai’d in the process…

The ambience is cute for the little ones but I am never going back to this place after how my daughter and I were treated here. I came in and was greeted by the guy who looks like the count from sesame street. I told him my daughter would like the rainbow sherbet in a cone. He told me «no you can’t have the cone, its too expensive». I said«what? Like how expensive?» He said one cone would be $ 7. So I said okay than I’ll just take the ice cream in a cup. I handed him a $ 20 to pay and he asked if I had anything lower than that. I told him no I didn’t and that this was only a $ 20, not a $ 100. He managed to tell me he was soo busy that weekend from everyone coming in that he didn’t have change for a $ 20! There was no one in the place! I turned around and walked out with my daughter and made it known that we were taking our business elsewhere. Its like this guy doesn’t want to have customers or something? How come he stayed open if he doesn’t even have change for a $ 20? The place smells like mold and is dusty. It needs to be renovated by someone who actually cares about it.

This was not what I was expecting… I’m a froyo person and this was bad… no samples, no self serve and the guy told me that it’s better cuz I wouldn’t get sick… I looked at the servings and the prices, and he said the toppings were extra… almonds are $ 50 per lb??? I’m in the almond business and toasted chopped almonds are not $ 50 per lb as he stated for toppings… that’s why it should be sold by weight… crazy

My experience here: Walk in, the place smells strongly of cleaning products and dust… a person has his back turned to us and is busy sloshing about in the frozen yogurt machines at the back of the store. We peruse the ice creams and decide what flavors we want. My daughter and I choose a waffle come with nuts and with sprinkles, respectively. At this time we are greeted by the old man with the awful jet black toupee. I tell him what we’d like and he says«No, it’s very expensive.» What? «It’s ten dollars.» He points and tells me to get daughter a single scoop in a styrofoam bowl. Great, so why do you have a case full of varieties of waffle comes, pretzel cones, waffle bowls if you are just going to scowl and tell people they are too expensive. Did I ask you how much they were? No. I said we want friggin waffle cones. As we sat down to eat our ice cream out of styrofoam bowls, I jumped on Unilocal to make sure I wasn’t going crazy. That’s probably why you are reading this as well. I later met other Bakersfieldians who had similar experiences. Welcome to CC’s, conveniently located in… The Twilight Zone

These days, we only stop in here on the rare occasion when I forget about superior places a few minutes away. I like supporting local businesses but it is getting more and more difficult with this one. The selection is minimal, the toppings are left uncovered(which is okay because he serves them to you and little grubby fingers never get in there, but they do such little business I worry about eating candy left out for days), the TV is blaring in the back, and the shelves are dusty. This should probably be a 1-star, but I have good memories of this place years ago… and last time we visited he made me laugh as he angrily grumbled about unfair shipping costs. «No! We are out of that! I am boycotting those Reeces guys!»

1980’s look n feel. Easy n good for kids, there’s a mini table for the little ones. Ice cream was pretty good n creamy. Place was kinda dusty and cluttered. But I give the guy credit for trying.

They had some interesting flavors, but I don’t know if I liked them. Serviced was okay. I don’t think I will be back though.

Cute ambiance but the fro yo flavors and toppings were pretty bad :/no fruit! And the only fruit flavored yogurt was a sugar free raspberry that tasted like a popped tumor
