Oak and Sofa Liquidators

So far so good. Picked out and paid for my furniture today. The staff is extremely kind and not pushy at all which was huge for me. I don’t like to feel pressured and they definitely respected that. I came in 3 times over 2 weeks before I made my decision and they were so patient and always helpful. They worked with me on prices and I know for a fact I wouldn’t find a better price elsewhere. My dad bought all his furniture here a few years back and is very satisfied with it still. I will update my review when I receive furniture and whatnot…

This place was such a life saver for me, if furniture can save your life. I had been looking for couches for my master suite sitting room, a media stand, and dressers/​night stands for weeks on end, scouring the Internet, hitting Ashley Furniture and Mor like there was no tomorrow… and I decided to give this place a try. I had checked it out years ago when my father in law said he got a great deal here. Well, I was not disappointed! They carry a lot of the same pieces that Ashley does, at a fraction of the cost! I almost spent $ 1100 on one dresser at Mor, because I was so tired of all my searching. I spent a total of about $ 1900 here and walked out with two night stands, a small love seat and matching chair for my sitting area, a big beautiful dresser, and an awesome media center! They delivered the sitting area furniture the next day, And the dresser and nightstand came about two weeks later. Easy delivery, guy set it all up for me too! He even moved my old dresser out to another room for me. He charges $ 75 fee and it was so worth it!!! They have a great online selection and that is where I found my dressers and nightstands, and thus why I had to wait 2 weeks for it, but again, worth it. Great service… Great deals, I will always check this place before Mor or Ashley.

Good customer service! A soon as I walked in I was immediately greeted !! I bought 2 sets of twin bed mattresses. Reasonable price for good quality product.

**NOTE — while our initial purchase was at their Fresno location, I’m putting this review here as well as both stores sell the same warranty and I believe consumers need to be warned about it. PLEASE check out the Unilocal page for Guardsman as well. This review also goes over our experience yesterday at the Bakersfield store before contacting Guardsman.
Pros — Our experience at the Fresno-​Blackstone store a year ago went as expected. After we respectfully letting them know we’d rather shop alone (i.e. not be followed around by a salesperson) they respected that. We found a couch and chair set that we really liked. It was inexpensive, which was what we were looking for because we have young children and don’t want to spend thousands on furniture with a 3 year old running around. The sales people were helpful at check-​out and ordered our furniture, which came in sooner than expected.
Cons — We were talked into purchasing the Guardsman 5-​year warranty, which sounded like a sound investment with young children in the house. I call this a «con» because I really believe stores should immediately STOP selling Guardsman warranties and either provide their own or find another company to contract with. We moved to Bakersfield about 7 months ago, and yesterday my husband sat in his recliner and felt himself fall slightly to one side. After getting out and looking at the frame of the chair, the very cheap wood had broken. We weren’t too concerned (after all, we have the warranty!!), until this morning when we got in contact with Guardsman. Turns out their process is ridiculously complicated and even one mis-​step (such as not printing pictures in the EXACT size requested) can cause our claim to be denied without the ability to re-​open. After reading reviews on Unilocal for Guardsman (you NEED to do this), I wish we had just set aside the $ 150 to apply toward potential repairs by a reputable company. Guardsman is very clearly a sham, and I can’t believe that Oak and Sofa Liquidators don’t know this.
We did take our warranty into the Bakersfield store yesterday afternoon (immediately after the incident), and we were told that if this had happened a mere 3 weeks prior (before the 1 year mark from purchase) that they would be taking care of it locally. While I totally understand that they are in no way contractually bound to make exceptions, I do wish that (in the spirit of customer service) they would say «Hey, it’s less than a month, we can handle that.»

I can’t brag enough about my experience shopping here. I purchased close to a thousand dollars of furniture here yesterday and am very happy I chose to come here.
Oak liquidators has a great selection of sofas, dining tables, bar stools, TV stands, dressers, etc. Etc… The most sincere and easy going staff you could come across as well. No hard selling, or car sales man like way of selling things here. I really like that.
I was greeted, handed an ad that they had and told if I had any questions to not hesitate to ask. Then I was left alone to look in peace. This is the majority of the reason why my husband and I decided to purchase from this store. No nagging sales dude followed us around like many of their competitors do.
Other reviewers complain that the furniture is just set out to look at and not in room like settings. Well, hello. It is a warehouse store, not a furniture gallery. If you want decorating ideas. That’s what HGTV is for.
We got a very sweet deal for purchasing multiple items.

Terrible customer service, poor quality product. Don’t waste your money here. Because when you get your furniture home and realize you bought a piece of sh#t, they won’t refund your money. Save yourself some time and money, and go to Big Lots. Seriously. Quality name brand furniture, not jade in Mexican alleyway knock off sh}t.

I stopped by Oak and Sofa Liquidators because I heard they have some of the cheapest furniture in town but I was not impressed by the way their furniture was displayed in an unprofessional manner. It reminded me more of a warehouse unfortunately. I ran around to some other stores and I had stopped by Ashley Furniture (the most notable). I was so impressed by and the way they displayed their furniture. They actually take the time to design small displays of how you can decorate your home or how a living room set would appear in your home. Compared to Oak and Sofa Liquidators, Ashley was able to motivate and encourage me to be able to actually see a certain furniture set in my home (A big plus!). After seeing Ashley’s showroom it made me realize the amateurish environment Oak and Sofa Liquidators has created. Not impressed!

went in to the store and was treated as if they didnt have time for me because all I wanted to buy was a loveseat, excuse me if this is all that will fit in my small apartment, too bad for them too because I am in an appt. waiting for my 3000sq house to be built, will be done in June 2013 but this place will not see a penny of my money.

We found a lot of Ashley Furniture here for VERY cheap. They can order almost anything, and they are SUPER good about service — loading up your truck for you, taking time to show you around, being kind and helpful, etc. Everyone was kind and helpful and had a good attitude, but Joe and Reuben especially went out of the way to give me their personal, professional attention.
There are tape measures there for you to use to see if something will fit in your space. You can negotiate for floor models. They have frequent sales and although some of the furniture is not high quality or desirable, most of it is the same brand and comparable quality to stores that cost 50−100% more. We actually live in San Jose and rented a U-​Haul to bring all the stuff we bought to furnish our house. The stores up here would order the same furniture, same model numbers, but charged 70% more (though delivery was included in those prices, it was still much cheaper to rent the U-​Haul). When we got to SJ and discovered minor damage on two items, they let me exchange it a month later (when I was next in Bako) because they knew I was from out of town, even though their policy is that it needs to be returned within a week. We are VERY happy with our purchases and with our experiences at this store!
