Port of Subs

If i could give less than 1 star I would. I came in on my 30 minute lunch break the store was dead. It took this man who I’m assuming was tge owner 20 minutes to make 2 sandwiches. He stopped 3 times to do other things and even took a personal call. They charged me twice and forgot a drink and soda both times. I will never come here again.

I saw this place when I was at the gas station and thought I would give it a try. First thing I noticed upon walking into the place was it looked just like every other sandwich place or subway. Second thing I noticed was all of the ingredients looked old– not fresh. Wilted vegetables, a vat of mayo with a yellowish color on top, the mustard cap was clogged shut with goop… And against my better judgment I went ahead and ordered a sandwich anyway– with barely anything on it. Then came the drinks– I was excited to find they served Gold Peak iced tea– so I got that. However it tasted so weird and gross like the dispenser hadn’t been cleaned in decades that I ended up tossing it. Very curious to know how they passed health inspection.

For a sandwich place that is comparable to other where you pick and choose your condiments this has to be one of my favorite chains.
I like that they slice the meat and cheese fresh. The toppings are of the usual for a sandwich place. I like the long sandwich pickles they use instead of the hamburger chip style. They have the mayo/​mustard combo that is a favorite of my husband. My favorite is the roasted chicken and I pretty much get it every time.
We have used them many times for party subs and love them because they will put whatever toppings on the side for us at no extra cost plus they are very affordable compared to other chains.
The staff here is always nice and friendly even if they are on the quiet side. They have come to recognize my family and always thank us for coming in.

The food is good, but the owner who works here need to work on his customer service skills. I won’t give money to a man who has a poor attitude.

Probably one of the worst sandwiches I ever had. I bought the veggie on wheat bread. The avocado didn’t even taste fresh, bread was so flat, and the cheese was not fresh either. I don’t even know exactly what it was that gave my sandwich a sour/​tangy taste; I’m thinking it was the avocado???
I opted for no onion only because it looked like the container with onion had drops of mayonnaise and other stuff I couldn’t distinguish. Very disappointed.
Also, the older man working was not very welcoming even though I was the only one in line he was trying to rush me.
Husband had a pastrami sandwich and he seemed to like it but agreed the avocado didn’t taste fresh.
After trying this sandwich I regret not stopping at Subway and I’m not the biggest fan of that sandwich spot either but their sandwiches are fresher and bread is fluffier than this spot for sure!

So very disappointed. Not even close to what I remember from my year up in northern california, when I frequented Port of Subs on a weekly basis. There is so much potential in this franchise, but if the owners don’t care about providing fresh ingredients it kinda defeats the purpose. The avocado spread was brown and so was the lettuce. I even pointed it out, but the lady said it’s the only lettuce they had. When they sliced the cheese for my veggie sandwich, it was paper thin. Why cut corners? Smh. Oh well, what a waste of a meal. I still gave two stars because the concept of freshly sliced meats and cheese deserves it.

Great sandwich shop! The breads like eating a delicious cloud and the staffs always friendly. I’d take Port over SW any day! This is the best lunch spot and has competitive lunch pricing.

Really good food and great staff. I’m surprised the place wasn’t busier. Well definitely come back.

Tasty sandwiches — small, medium (6 inch), large (12 inch) and extra large. White, wheat, and sourdough are the bread varieties I’m aware of– quite soft, never dry, and with flavor. Usually get the #18 (roast beef, turkey, provolone) but have tried other wholesome varieties. Meat is freshly sliced before each sandwich is made, just like at grocery delis, and can be heated – or sandwiches can be toasted. Clean, quaint atmosphere and friendly service!

Good food but FAR TOO EXPENSIVE!
