«Oh So Tender» I am a major breadaholic… no really! My family and I love love love Pyrenees Bakery and have been buying their bread for thirty plus years. Most local Restaurants serve Pyrenees Bread if they are of any stature in town. I am a big time BBQ’er /Pellet Smoker and often smoke Pork Butt(shoulder) and when I do my pulled pork I ALWAYS call up Pyrenees the day before and order my special«Large Hamburger Rolls With Sesame Seeds» OMG! We also, because so affordable order Soft Sandwich Rolls, a loaf of Sourdough and a loaf of French bread as well. The bread is ALWAYS fresh and the Gal’s behind the counter are all sweethearts. Take cash or your checkbook because they do not accept credit cards. Please don’t change a thing!

The best fresh baked bread! We use it for tri tip sandwiches at work. I always have to order a extra loaf for home. Cheyenne is so nice & friendly!

Wonderful sourdough bread! The crust was perfect. I’m new to Bakersfield, and the Pyrenees Bakery and they have a new devoted customer!

At Christmas time the sesame wreath is a real crowd pleaser. I know that I can buy Pyrenees bread around town, but I like to come to the bakery location on East 21st Street for bread so fresh and tasty even my San Francisco relatives request it.

If I had to live on bread and water for a year, I’d gleefully choose Pyrenees French Bread. This a Bakersfield STAPLE. I defy you to try and find a local that has never heard or tried their baked goods. Besides French bread, they also carry wheat and sourdough. Rolls, loaves, sliced. You name it, they have it. Pyrenees is a special place.

Don’t it always seem to go, that you don’t know what you’ve got til it’s gone… And such was the case when I moved away from this diamond in the rough. I now live in an area known for its many wonderful bakery’s and restaurants … But none hold a candle to the Pyrenees. Their bread is second to none.

I love coming to the bakery to get rolls for our family gatherings. Of course, I end up walking out with a bunch of other products for my house too! Everything not only tastes amazing but the staff is so friendly and helpful. Pyrenees is a great example of why I will go out of my way to support a local business!

This is some of the best bread I’ve ever had. and definitely the best bread baked anywhere in Bakersfield. You can buy it at most grocery stores in town, and it is served in many restaurants, too. The Pyrenees French Bakery bakes French bread daily as well as sourdough, wheat. They carry everything from rolls to large loaves of bread. Now, if this bread tastes so amazing when you buy it from the grocery store where it’s been sitting on the shelves for several hours, imagine how good it tastes when you buy it freshly baked from the bakery itself! The bakery shop is tiny and only carries the different varieties of bread and a couple of cookbooks. It’s not fancy, but you get to leave with loaves of freshly baked bread. What could be better than that?

This is some of the best bread I’ve ever enjoyed. Just pick up some bread at a local grocery store and get some real butter. Then dig in and enjoy!

I love their french rolls. I couldn’t imagine eating lunch at Luigi’s or Woolgrower’s without them. They also sell a lot of their products in our local grocery stores which is so convenient. This place is as classic Bakersfield as it gets.

This is by far my favorite bread and now that I don’t live in Bakersfield, I can’t get the bread. I was home for the holidays, went straight to the store and bought the loaf and rolls. I hugged the bag and the grocery store worker stared at me for a while then laughed. Like I said, it’s the best. If you haven’t tried this bread yet you are missing out. I would give anything to have this bread in Virginia.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE their French bread. The only bummer is it is so hard to find it! I don’t live near this location, so I pick mine up at Albertson’s or Vons and if you don’t go first thing in the morning, you will not find a French bread in sight.

The only brand of bread to eat while in Kern County. It’s served at most of the restaurants, so you enjoy it everywhere. I stopped in a few days ago and the the bakery was pretty wiped out out, but they still had bags ready to go. I purchased a pack of sweet rolls(which is served at Luigis) and some french bread(served at Noriega’s). Not only is it one of the best tasting breads, but the staff was helpful and friendly. This is a must stop while visiting Bakersfield:)
