I went here the other day to buy a cable cord for my TV. I spent about 10 minutes in line waiting for the lady in front of me, who I believe was trying to get something with her phone fixed. I can’t say I was ecstatic to be waiting that long in line, but I understood the reality of trying to get your phone to work again, so I had empathy for the guy waiting on her. In all honesty, waiting that long really wasn’t that big deal. My experience was fine. Nothing outside of the norm.

I have to be honest. Radio Shack is not the first place I think of when I think electronics. I actually ended up here out of sheer frustration after a fruitless visit to Best Buy, and now I’m wondering why I EVER went anywhere else. All I needed was a simple cable with rca jacks on both ends to connect a vcr to a wide screen tv, though I did want it to be at least 10 feet. Who would have thought that was such a tall order? Apparently all the employees at Best Buy who either ignored me or gestured vaguely toward the back wall instead of actually helping me. When I finally called Radio Shack while standing in the middle of Best Buy, the Radio Shack employee was courteous and helpful, letting me know they had exactly what I needed and telling me he’d help me find it when I got there. I walked in and he immediately walked me over to exactly what I’d asked for. He asked me what I was going to use it for and I told him I wanted to hook up a VCR in my classroom to a tv. After chatting for a minute he told me about a connector I could purchase(cheaply) that would allow me to also use it to also hook up one of my computers to display on the tv screen. I was out of there with exactly what I needed, a smile on my face, and a sense of lightness as if a burden had been lifted off my shoulders in about five minutes. Radio Shack — I promise to visit you first next time I need something cable-ish or even vaguely electronic!
