Rubio’s

Been going here for years and it’s always great! The food is wonderful (my favorite is the street taco plate) but the service is even better! The manager, Lupe, is very welcoming and friendly and goes the extra mile for his customers. The employees are always friendly and helpful, too. I definitely recommend Rubio’s!

Place is Awesome. Walked in got greeted right away, customer service is great. I ordered the two taco plate (grilled chicken) and I have to say it was pretty amazing. Overall great food and great customer service.

Absolutely love this place… The service is as great as the food. Awesome place to go to in Rosedale Area for casual night for quick dinner and even better for large groups like Birthday Dinners. They all sing Happy Birthday and you get to wear their sombrero for great Pics. It’s really reasonably priced.

Deliciousness. My favorites are the fish and chicken tacos. I wouldn’t say this place is real Mexican but it’s still good. It reminds me of all the fresher food planes I would go to when I lived in Orange County.

I just ate here for lunch today and enjoyed their salmon tacos. I am beginning to think that the dollar signs may need to go from one to two on this company. I left there and paid over $ 12 total for my meal. Regardless, the food was good and I thought the grilled salmon was enjoyable. Service was fairly slow today, though.

Great service. Awesome blackened and grilled mahi burritos and tacos. Great cheese quesadilla. Great bean and cheese burritos. Awesome that they offer whole grain tortilla. Awesome salsa selection. Fresh made chips, however, they seem to be giving less chips. Bummer. Still highly recommend this place for a great price and even better food.

We really enjoy eating at Rubio’s and we eat there quite frequently. We really like the chicken California bowl. Tonight we ordered 2 California bowls to go, and we were very disappointed at the quantity! The portions were about half the size of what it is if you eat in house. We were done eating and still hungry. :(

Love their fish tacos.

Very nice did quick service very nice customer service… Luis was there at the ordering place and even though it was almost 10:00pm he was still smiling and full of energy. Well definitely recommend this place and come again.

The Mahi Mahi California bowl, blackened with red sauce, is delicious and the staff is very friendly.

Taco Tuesday is awesome! We can feed our family of 5 for under $ 20 which is a very great value to us. The staff was very friendly and ordering was easy. There are several salsas to choose from. Our fish tacos came out very quickly and had nice big peices of fish in them. They are not the best fish tacos I have had but for $ 1.50 they are definitely worth it. We usually order some of their pinto beans and chips and use the beans as dip. Yum!

The service is always on point. The food is consistently great, staff always greet u and they have a great attitude. I am a loyal customer at rubios they never let me down at this location

You fell down today Rubios. We went in, took the time to order and waited 25 minutes for our food. To go. Then, you served it to someone else waiting at a table with a similar name. Equals — me being pissed as I now have to go elsewhere. I do not have another 25 min to wait while you refire. And do not try to lie to all seeing customers saying it will be right out, that you are short staffed and the kitchen is simply backed up. I watched the poor guy dining in return our meals and for some reason the eatery seemed to wonder why we did not want the food that had been sitting on his table for who knows how long. Total waste of time.

Superlative service in a place where you might not expect it.
The food was, as you’d expect, pretty solid. It’s fast food, but it’s better in taste and quality, but where this particular Rubio’s went above and beyond was service.
One of the store managers was on the register, and she was very thorough. I had a gift voucher, and she helped me max out its value. In addition, she understand my dietary restrictions and made the necessary changes to the entire order without me having to go through the thing, item by item, as I’ve had to do at so many other restaurants.
I did get one particularly spicy bite, as perhaps a little chili may have escaped someone else’s plate and nuzzled mine, but overall, in, now, 3 or 4 trips to this restaurant, it consistently comes in at a 4-​star experience.

This Midwestern boy can’t get enough of this place. Got the taco trio and was amazing as always. Worth the drive!

Rubio’s never disappoints. I’ve only had their fish tacos but everytime they come out consistently yummy!
Good variety of salsa and the food comes out much quicker than any other place I’ve had fried fish.

Wow Bakersfield, another surprisingly great discovery!
Great spot for lunch. Ordered the MANGO HABERNERO MAHI MAHI tacos, amazingly scrumptious especially with the mango. The guacamole in the STEAK BURRITO added so much flavor to the steak. Both were great choices.
Can’t forget their Salsa bar! Mild, picante, roasted Chipotle, and spicy Chile. It’s a must-​have with everything. Don’t forget the lime, onions and Cilantros!

I ordered the chicken quesadilla, chicken and ranch salad, and the burrito especial. Both the quesadilla and salad were good however, the chicken on both was too salty.
The burrito included fried rice which was mushy and tasted bland. It was missing something and therefore, was unfulfilling. I wouldn’t order the burrito again.

Back in the day I visited Rubio’s Fresh Mexican Grill at least once or twice a month. I really liked their street tacos that come with chicken, steak or carnitas, but would occasionally try some of their other offerings.
Then they completely revamped their menu to emphasize a full array of seafood offerings. I must admit, I was no longer a fan. Not only did I not like the taste of the few seafood items I tried, but it seemed like the price point rose significantly.
I hadn’t been back for many months, but while doing a Unilocal search of local restaurants I stumbled onto Mike H.‘s review that mentioned the Chicken Tortilla Soup and was immediately drawn in. I have a weakness for a nice spicy chicken tortilla soup and this is one of the better ones I’ve tasted. I ordered a bowl of it to go for three dollars and change and then made a few stops on the way home.
It was still hot when I opened the to go container. There were slices of fresh avocado on top that kept their texture and even a slice of lime. I discovered, with the first spoonful, that there was a cheesy component to the soup. It made for messy eating but it was quite tasty. There were large white chunks of chicken, a LOT of chicken, mexican rice, tortilla strips, and veggies. Yummy!
The cashier who took my order asked if I wanted flour tortillas to go with it, but I asked for corn tortillas instead as I usually prefer them. The soup was fabulous, but I was not a fan of the tortillas. I took one bite and then threw the rest away.
I’d definitely come back to try the soup, and I did notice that they do still have the street tacos on the menu so I may even come back for them. I will not, however, be tempted by any of their seafood fare.
