Very reasonable prices and they give you a lot for the price but the snow cones are way too sweet.

This place is usually pretty amazing BUT I am very disappointed this year. I have gone to this location THREE times and they just can’t seem to get it together. Either they don’t give you enough flavoring or they give you the entire bottle. The last time I went I asked them to take the«cone» off the top so it would sit flat. The girl knocked off the top, took out about half the ice and drenched the remainder in syrup. I still gave them a great tip, considering it SUCKS having to work in this horrible heat. So disappointing, especially since I haven’t noticed any other locations up and running yet.

My kids favorite. Sugar and ice on a hot Bako day… what’s not to love?

Perfect for the blistering Bakersfield summer heat. My kids always look forward to our summer runs here.

Not a happy camper tonight. Drive ten minutes with the kids, and the had«closed early cause it was cold» she tells me through the window. It’s flipping beautiful outside, and 70 degrees!

I’ve found the prescription for beating the Bakersfield summer heat blues — an icy cold Sno Shack sno cone! Yes, they’re back — the ubiquitous(at least during the summer months) sky blue A-frame shacks with their red, orange, and yellow stripes. The shape always makes me think of the little houses that the British Palace Guards stand outside wearing those ridiculously tall furry black hats. Only somehow I think it would be much easier to get the workers here to smile. It doesn’t get much better than this. I do so love my shaved ice snow cones — though don’t be worried, they come in flat bottom styrofoam cups, not those paper cones with pointed bottoms that are so impossible to set down! There are 87 flavors and 9 super flavors that can be combined to please even the pickiest child or adult and they come in three different sizes: small $ 2.50, medium $ 3.00, and avalanche $ 4.00. I just left this location with a ½ pineapple daiquiri, ½ strawberry margarita and I am in hog heaven — even though the brain freeze is causing actual physical pain as I type with the right eye squeezed shut. FYI — the one-eyed squint does not actually help one cope with the pain, but it at least makes me feel like I am being pro-active. The only negative is that neither of the Sno Shack locations I’ve been to in Bakersfield had sugar free flavors. I went to their website and they do carry a sugar free sugar water made with agave that the franchisees can purchase. How about it Bako Sno Shack peeps, will you step up to the plate and make us at least 3 or 4 sugar free flavors?
