Rite Aid

Oh my gosh this Rite Aid has the longest lines ever! Every time I stop in here I wait and wait and wait in their line. Sometimes they’ll call for another checker.
This particular time it was a week before Christmas I went in to see if they had some gift bags. I know that’s lazy at Christmas but I had some odd shaped items and this was a week before Christmas. There was not one bag to be found! A week before Christmas? I guess the mark everything down so they don’t get stuck with it but I thought they do that after Christmas?
So I needed a can of green beans for my dogs and I rounded the corner and there were I’m not kidding at least 6 people in line and one cashier. Oh heck no so I put my beans back and headed to the Dollar store to see if I had any better luck in both departments. Otherwise it was a clean and organized store and they do greet you when you walk in. I just had to walk out!

Went to go get over the counter medicine for my daughter and they were out. But I love that it’s across the street from my house. They are fast at checking people out. Quick and easy. It’s clean and many of the employees are friendly.

This is a really nice Rite Aid, located on the Northwest corner of Coffee & Olive, and it is the one I visit most often. I walked in one day and all the aisles were going in a different direction than they used to so I’m guessing that sometime in the last year this particular location went through a remodel. Damn, I’m a good guesser.
On the products that they have in common, Rite Aid tends to be a wee bit more expensive than the Albertson’s it shares a parking lot with, but it has a much better selection of products, so I feel it’s worth the extra money.
Rite Aid carries a good selection of cosmetics (though to be completely honest I get most of those at ULTA these days) and health and beauty products. They carry a very good selection of vitamin and mineral supplements, too. I’ve never used their pharmacy, so I can’t comment on that.
They carry a variety of snack foods and a surprising good selection of liquor. Who knew?
One can’t forget the famous Thrifty ice cream cones. No, it’s not the most gourmet ice cream in the world, but it is tasty, relatively cheap, and really hits the spot.
There is a Blue Rhino propane tank exchange outside. It is not self serve; in order to use it you must go inside and pay first — be warned, they get cranky if you cary the old propane tank that you’re exchanging inside the store — and then a store employee will come outside with a key and exchange the tanks for you.
During the summer months, there is a Sno Shack out in the parking lot facing Coffee Rd that sells shaved ice.

Worst pharmacy I’ve ever dealt with. Could not give me my full script the last two visits. Then when I came back to get the rest had to wait in the drive thru for over 30 minutes. I timed it. When they finally got me I asked what took so long and they simply replied. «We have to help the customers in the store first». Wow. This pharmacy is the closest to my house. I’ll be going out of my way to go somewhere else.

Located on the corner of Olive Dr. and Coffee Rd. I used to come to this location a lot. Nowadays, there is a closer Rite Aid location to home.
Still, for the best ice cream for the money… the Thrifty brand ice cream at Rite Aid is the best!!!
Their own Rite Aid label products are good and provide a better value as compared to the Brand names.

I really like this pharmacy… and that’s saying a lot coming from a soon-​to-​be pharmacist as well as a former employee for another Rite Aid in another town who pretty much hated working for the company.
Reasons why I love this pharmacy:
–my prescription was not covered so they sent a fax back to my doctor and got a drug that was covered (this was in a matter of days, and I did not call them and tell them to do so).
–they printed out the reasoning the previous drug was not covered and gave it to me with my new medication
–they call if they have questions or concerns
–they have even called personally to let me know my medication was transferred ok and was ready for pick up (they did this in the same day, which is nice because it’s hard to get a hold of other pharmacies sometimes)
–they faxed my md for more refills on a prescription, without me having to tell them to do so, and got the response back and quickly filled the prescription
–they filll my prescriptions in a timely manner and the automated calling system lets me know when they are ready
Overall, superb service for a chain drugstore!
