After taking my vehicles for an oil change and a car wash to Sparkling Image Car Wash and seeing the Tacos Mi Casa truck in the parking lot, I decided to try it for the first time. I ordered two chicken tacos and two tacos Al Pastor, which is grilled pork, at $ 1.50 each and a lemonadeat $ 2(it was huge). I had tried Tacos de Huicho near Union Avenue but these were much better. They don’t use freshly hand made tortillas and they still taste good. The lemonade was also good, unfortunately, the second and third times that I went I was told they had ran out of lemonade and only had watermelon and melon water. I tried the melon water and it tastes like real melon and it was good but I wish they made more lemonade since it seems like it sells more.

This place is located in the parking lot of Sparkling Image Car Wash and the Fastrip/Chevron. The service is rather quick and the line is not too long usually. The food from. what I have tried which is a Carne Asada Torta once, a carne asada burrito another time and tacos another time. Each time the food was hot right off the grill. The tacos I tried were carne asada and hit the spot at the time. Both the burrito and the torta fell short for me. Each time the meat lacked the depth of flavor you usually get. The veggies seemed fresh so that is a plus. I requested for extra avocado on the torta but even then they were a bit stingy. The food is not bad but not the best for what else is offered in the vicinity. But if you’re buying gas or getting your car washed this is definitely not a bad option especially if the carne asada is on point.

So am getting a car wash and I decide to try the tacos. They have like ten different meats but no Tripas. :(. I had 5 tacos of different meats, is usually why I do at a new place, carne asada and chicken where ok. The rest of the meats are salty and missing any real flavor. Alpastor is just the same salted carnitas with a sauce added at the end. It sucks that there’s no place to sit and flies are everywhere. People are friendly and fast. I will give them another try. On this side of town there isn’t much better.

A friend and I wanted to try some good Mexican food and this truck is super close to work so we decided to give it a shot. Best decision we made that day! I had a carne asada burrito(classic!) and I had cheese and sour cream added(you pay extra for add-ons, obvi). The size was pretty decent. Enough that I didn’t leave any behind, but not so much I felt sick from finishing it. I also had an horchata which was a little too grainy for my liking, I had to stir it a lot to try to make it taste better. The only thing I could say that would improve on this place would be if they accepted cards. Cash only folks! I’m lucky I had a $ 10 on me that day. There’s not a lot of seating available at this place either, so you’re better taking your food to go. Will return!

Man I love taco trucks! The friendly cook/cashier accommodated my need for extra heat by adding a chopped up grilled Sorano pepper in my shrimp burrito. The food was fresh and delicious. The high turnover rate definitely is a good sign when you want to have seafood from a truck and they were plenty busy. Go ahead try it. Shrimp is not on the menu just FYI so you do have to ask for it.

I love this taco truck. I seriously come here at least once a week, if not more. The service is quick and friendly and the tacos are DELICIOUS. I typically order the carne asada tacos with everything. Their salsa is perfection… possibly even better than my little Mexican grandma’s salsa(sorry grandma). The meat portions are pretty hefty too. My boyfriend loves getting the breakfast burritos and chicken quesadillas, but I tend to stick with my tacos de carne asada or tacos de lengua. The only downside is they close at 5, so my evening taco truck cravings go unresolved until the next day. Other than that it’s my favorite joint in the southwest!

I have gone to the car wash that has this taco truck in the same parking lot a hundred times. And, I have meant to stop, but never have. Well, this was my lucky day. Even though I wasn’t hungry I ordered a chicharron(not typically available at most places) and a lengua(beef tongue) taco. Both prepared well, both flavorful, and both were inhaled in a quick second. They took awhile, though it was worth the wait, it made it harder to enjoy as my clean car was waiting for me and i was busy dripping the best taco truck salsa in town down my chin. I definitely have decided that getting my car wash means lunch at this place. Yay for me.

Finally, visit #2 to Tacos Mi Casa is a success! I’ve driven by this taco truck at least 5 times only to find it closed. So, when I found it was open yesterday, I get the bright idea to ask them their hours. They’re open Monday through Saturday from 8 am to 5 pm. The first time I was here, I was getting gas at the Chevron station and I needed a quick bite. I swallowed two chicken tacos without giving it much thought. This time, I ordered three tacos — pollo, al pastor, and shrimp while bf ordered a torta. It’s refreshing to see shrimp tacos from a truck. The tacos were fairly priced at $ 1.20 each. Now that I have time to critique my food, I find one overall theme — overcooked. The pollo was chunky strips, not cubes, that were dry. There was barely any moisture in the chicken and the skimpy amount of salsa was no substitute for the juicy texture that chicken has when you cook it just right. Same with the al pastor — chunks of dried pork. There ware barely any of that red colored marinade that one associates with al pastor. The shrimp was chopped shrimp, which looked really clean but, it was overly chewy. It’s really easy to overcook shrimp, which they did. Bf said his torta was good. I think I’ll order that next time. Overall, I like this place and have high hopes for their other non-taco items. It might be awhile before I get to try them since they’re closed during the evenings and Sundays.

I’ve gone here a few times since my first review and have decided it’s awesome. I like it better than Taco Loco. They have breakfast for $ 3.50 that comes with choice of meat, eggs, potatoes, rice, beans, and salsa. I ask for no beans. The employees are super nice and will explain anything on the menu for you. when i go it’s always a man and a woman if you have the option get her to make your stuff, she’s way better.
