My goto place for Birria, served with fresh corn torts. If you have never tried Birria you should. Not gamey, very beefy, was hooked on the first bite.

MUST TRY NOT ONLY IN BALDWIN PARK BUT THROGHOUT ALL LOS ANGELES COUNTY. I live in Pomona and drive to this delicious restaurant for the flavor and the home feeling you get with Pedro and his Wife who are the owners of this place. Any plate you request believe me you will not be disappointed with the freshness and flavor. One of the many plates I’ve tried like many on here was the birria soup and WOW along with the mahi mahi upon request. NOT your typical refried beans old rice food at this place.

After reading the great reviews we decided to give the restaurant a try and so glad we did. The food is so good and flavorful. Everything is like home made and you also get fresh corn made tortillas. We are chili eaters and the owner Peter will give us to try different types of salsas. We even tried the birria as a sample he gave us to try and I have to say the birria is tasty! The prices are reasonable and the customer service is outstanding. Great food and customer service! Highly recommend this place.

Visited Café Azteca tonight for the first time. Glad we decided to try their food. Everything we ordered was REALLY good!!! We ate birria soup (so good), torta de milanesa (very good), and a taco de birria (also very tasty). Then before we left, the owner gave us two tamales! He had just finished cooking them and wanted us to try them. How nice was that!!! Great service!!! Before leaving I mentioned that I saw someone post that they had enjoyed a salad at his establishment, however none are listed on the menu. Well… it turns out that the owner will make you healthier dishes (salads, mahi mahi, grilled chicken, veggies, etc.) upon request!!! How great is that!!! Love this!!! Next time I come here I’m definitely going to try a big plate of veggies and grilled mahi mahi!!!

Food is very good… Nice and clean prices are ok parking lot is big the new owner are very cool I recommend this place… If you want good food

Best Mexican food ever. The Chicken and vegetables was to die for along with the side salad with diced mango. The tortillas are made fresh with the order the salsa is delicious.

Maybe I am the first Chinese customer who visited Café Azteca. I love hot spicy food and I would like to try different food as much as possible. And, it’s absolutely a right choice for me to spend a nice afternoon here. The Quesadilla is great and so does chip and salsa! The most important thing is, the chef is so nice and he does food different from others. One word, I love Café Azteca!

It was CASH ONLY today because the system was down. However, Torta Gigante de asada was delicious and portioned well at a good price. Agua de melon was perfect. Birria soup OMG my husband was upset because I kept taking the carne lol He was only willing to share the jugo! LoL Definitely worth coming back. And if you spend more than $ 20, they’ll deliver. Perfect for business lunch

There are mexican restaurants and then there are MEXICAN RESTAURANTS! What is the difference? Come taste and see!
The owner and chef Peter has a heart that bleeds flavor! He genuinely cares about the quality of his food and you could tell that from your first bite. As I inquired about his starts of this fabulous restaurant, I was savoring the Birria soup and drooling over the house made tortillas, salsa, and burrito while chomping, biting, and licking my fingers, plate, and bowl.. . Peter attentively told me how he has been cooking for years and always had the desire to open up his own restaurant and his dream has finally came true. My heart wanted to know how this gem came into existence but my mouth kept eating and enjoying the spices and flavors.
Birria soup– is nice and spicy with marinated beef, lime, onions and cilantro added, and I liked dipping the chips or the homemade tortilla into it to eat it. I’m a sucker for spices and was sweating as I was eating it, but the flavors were so delicious that honestly I am sitting here trying to figure out if I am going to drive back out there in the morning to get more, or just wait until work on Monday to go for my lunch.
Carne Asada Burrito– the meat was well done and flavorful. The burrito was spicy also and super delicious. I found myself picking up any bean or even onion that fell out of the burrito onto the plate and making sure I did not miss a single piece of anything. That is how flavorful it was.
Homemade tortillas– they were a nice thick corn tortilla that melted in my mouth. More please!
Salsa– had a great taste to it, I ate it only with the chips though because the rest of the food was so flavorful, that it did not truly need the salsa.
In the end, I washed it down with a soda. I will be back this week! I’m glad it is on Unilocal so I can get directions as I did not drive the first time here. But I do know that it is in the back and across from the pizza co. Plenty of parking. Oh and they also cater. I am pretty sure I see a catering order in my near future.

Just had the «carnitas burrito mojado»!!! It was delicious. Going back again for sure!

The birria tastes like homemade. Gotta say one of the best anywhere. Do yourself a favor!!! Get some now. Birria and Menudo served daily. Wait, there’s more… great quesadillas also. Truly great mexican food experience.

Great new restaurant! Had a mulita of Carne asada, taco of cabeza, side of quac and a yummy sample tasting of birria! All great!
