I had the distinct honor of serving Dr. Spiel on the front line of a system deployment while at Baldwin Park in NICU during deployment. Additionally, I had the pleasure of sharing with him and the Chief of Peds some feedback on the healthcare industry and Lean Six Sigma(laymen terms: a way to improve processes for the betterment of all) — both were very open, candid and acknowledged we have room for improvement in healthcare. Their constraints as providers are growing, with minimal reward, yet they stay the course, because this is what they believe in. Rather than ridicule, we should offer relief. Target the problem, not the person.

I found Dr. Speil to be one of the laziest and worst doctors I have ever had to deal with. Dr. Speil’s the kind of doctor and the reason Kaiser Medical has such a bad rap! I waited until I switched my family’s coverage from Kaiser to a PPO to leave this review because I didn’t want to get blacklisted — but he truly needs to retire. He treats you like you’re a waste of his time — god forbid you do your own reseach and not buy into the treatment he wants to shove down your throat. And he hate’s being caught in error — he sarcasitcally said to me once, «Oh now I must look like an idiot.» Well, I’m sorry but as an informed mother to my child I won’t let anybody who is an MD just order me around — you should’nt either — stay away from Dr. Speil.
