The worst costumer service ever experienced. I ordered 5 popusas to go and they only gave me 4. I had to drive back to get the other popusa. When I told the lady in front I was missing one. She didn’t even say sorry or sorry I’ll add it right now. Since I was already dissappointed I asked her if she could«please give me more of the cabbage side for free because I had to drive back and they made a mistake». Rudely she said no and laughed in my face.

The best Salvadorean food in town. Hands down. The portions are hearty, the food is as authentic as you can get and the staff is great. Juanita is lovely. Always gets out orders right even when it’s chaos for her. She knows exactly how we like our platanos and since I absolutely love the curtido here, always brings me my own bowl before we order any food. The owner, Osmin, and his wife, who is the cook by the way, are super friendly. We’ve been coming here for about 5 years now and we have always been greeted with a smile. They always make sure to tell us hello and check in on us during our meals. All the food is made when ordered so it is always hot and tastes fresh. The Sal Picon is fabulous too!

Bomb diggity pupusas. My husband is from El Salvador and agrees that their pupusas are damn near as good as the ones back home. Honestly haven’t tried much else. The breakfast plates are delicious. Huevos rancheros, frijolitos, y queso fresco. Mmmmm so GOOD. been coming here ever since we discovered it. Pastelitos are also a yummy dessert/breakfast. I suggest calling ahead to order though if you don’t want to eat in restaurant. The wait is usually a little long because it’s made fresh. Plan accordingly.

Took 1 hour 40 minutes to get my order, after I had called in to order. They said my order would take 1 hour but they ended up taking 40 minutes extra. Great pupusas, horrible service. If you’re hungry and don’t want to wait, do not come here.

Best Pupusas In Baldwin Park, just love them and the steak en cebollado bomb … Ordering ahead of time is always better if they say 30 minutes most likely it will be 45 and is not a bad thing is just that they are always busy, bussy and not a lot of workers because the place is small but the food is good overall I been coming to this restaurants for over 10 years so I can guaranteed u won’t be disappointed but just be patience that’s all … :)

We come here for great traditional salvadorian food. My favorite are pupusas de queso(with cheese) and a cold bottle of sangria to wash it down.

Everyone is giving this place bad reviews for the Papusas wait time during their 1.25 special. The problem is everyone waits until those certain days then decides to go. If I want Papusas an extra 75 cent isn’t going to stop me from buying it any other day of the week. This review is for the tamales. Very hard finding fresh tamales that’s a decent size and has a good amount of filling as well. These tamales were certainly one of the best I’ve had in years. Did need a little bit of salt but other than that taste was great! They were not stingy with the meat at all and it was steaming hot when she gave it to me. It was NOT re-warmed as other places like to do. It was so good I plan on going back today. Also I didn’t have to wait(I ordered at the window and was out the place in 30 seconds).

Horrible customer service. I called in an hour in advance so the food could be ready since I was going on my lunch break got there and they said it’d be 5 more mins… 15 mins later I asked if it was almost done and she told me they were just about to throw them on the grill. The restaurant itself seems very outdated and dirty.. 1.25 special is good but not at the expense of a dirty restaurant and horrible service.

Pretty Good Food. Wait Time Isn’t So Good. We Waited A Long Time For Our Food. I Suggest Pre-Ordering The Food Before You Get There Or Get For To Go.

There Pupusas are very delish! Wednesday & Thursday are only $ 1.25 But order ahead bc you will wait a long time if you plan to dine in. Last time we waited 2 hrs. The Pupusas revueltas -(mix) are the best. Oh and don’t forget the ensalada de Fruta– a very refreshing drink w/diced fruit!

The pupusas are not the greatest to be honest. There is a place called El Salvadoreño #2, way better.

Love the pupusas here! Prices for the specials went up to $ 1.25. They use to be $.99. They really need to work on making the place look better. I know they make enough money to fix up this joint with all the pupusas they are selling. Oh and they also need to hire more waitresses. I only see one running around all the time from the register to the tables. Poor thing. :/

Cashier/waitress was hot! English wasn’t the best and I don’t speak any Spanish. Story of my life. 4* Liked the pupusas but very limited in selections. I usually like chicken or spinach and cheese, but they have neither. I ordered the pork and cheese and were pretty good. Not overly oily from the cheese, good sized, came out hot, and pretty flavorful. 3.5* The highlight for me was the chicken tamales! Probably one of the best tamales I’ve ever had. Would recommend the tamales! 5* Horchata was pretty good too! 4*

This place needs more customers and positive reviews! Came here during lunch hour because my coworker wanted pupusas. There were not many people in the restaurant and only two people working. The service was a bit slow, but I’m thinking it’s because they’ve never anticipated such a big crowd(we had 8 people with us). Literally took us 30 minutes to get our food, you’d think they would be better prepared. But the food came out freshly made and was delicious! I’ve never had a pupusa before, but I will definitely come back and order that the next time I“m here. I’ll probably call in my order first ahead of time.

Was looking up Salvadorean restaurants and this came up. From the outside it didn’t look all that special. The inside wasn’t too special either. The restaurant had some basic tables nothing too fancy. Had a nice TV. which was on a Spanish channel also had a jukebox. The waitress was really nice. We ordered Horchata, pupusas, tamales, and the fried banana plate. The horchata was authentic Salvadorean style which i really liked. The pupusas were great too. Only complaint food wise was the tamales. My Mom said the chicken in the tamale tasted old. The meal total was about $ 20 dollars for 2. I don’t think I will be coming here again tho, unless I’m in the area. There’s a better place close to my house. Also it didn’t seem too lively. No music playing in the background plus it was somewhat cold in the building.

The food here is great and moderately priced. The food is made to order, so expect at least a 30 minute wait, maybe longer if the place is busy. They have great pupusas and the best CHILEVERDE I have had for years. There have been times I have shown up and left after no attention, service is not to be rated high, but the food is. But there is a solution to their service, you can call in your order in advance, at least 30 minutes and then things will go much better.

I definitely do not come here for the service… its borderline intolerable… but the pupusas are really good and cheap… just pre-order and pick up to avoid the dissappointment… wed. & thur. are the $ 1 pupusa special and they sometimes become too busy to handle so waiting 45min for your plate to arrive is not uncommon, even if your only having 2 pupusas…
