I recently came to this spot with my mom for lunch ! I got the queso fundido with chorizo as an appetizer it was pretty good it’s very greasy but good ! For my entrée I got the molcajete mixto it was so delicious haven’t had a good one in a while ! The place is kinda old so you hesitate a lil in walking in but it’s rather clean ! The only thing is the waitress their a little slow and have a non so welcoming faces but I can surpass that because their food is exceptional will return !

I am very disappointed in the service, the women that work there are very RUDE! How the owner not do anything about this? They wanted to charge me $ 1 for onion and cilantro… then my dad walks in another day and they did not charge him… The food is good… I always call to go and have my husband pick up the food

Very good hole in the wall style place. Service was perfect. Food was great! The mixed ceviche was delicious and the caldo de pollo was the true winner for the night. Must try. My husband was nervous at first but agreed it was one of the best he has had, as far as restaurant style food.

I really enjoy this place. Nice, quaint and good food. Pretty authentic, and the prices are descent. I would come again. I like the proximity of where it’s at without having to venture too far out. I really like their aguas and the molcajete. I’ll definitely be back.

My wife used to go here when she was in college, we stopped by for breakfast and really enjoyed it! Staff was very attentive and food was real good, we loved their Aguas Frescas!

Horrible Service! Went in for a menudo and while I was preparing it, I saw what I hoped was a crack in the bowl, but unfortunately turned out to be a long black hair! I called the waitress over and pointed it out to her and she had the audacity to tell me it was probably my own hair!!! I sat there in shock as she took the bowl to the back, and I decided to ask to speak to a manager or owner so I asked the cashier and to my surprise she pointed at the same waitress that accused me of planting my own hair in my food. Needless to say, I left the place and will NEVER return. They have lost a loyal customer. Stay FAR away from this so called«restaurant»!

The only time Ive been here was when I went to one of Mayor Lozano’s fundraising parties held here. And from what I remember it the chicken fajitas were great. However its been a while since I have stepped foot in this establishment, so I cant make any comments on anything new other than what I experiences maybe 10 years or so ago… and its not that i avent been back because the food or service is horrible, i just havent found the time or anyone to go with and it makes it a lot harder to since i no longer live in the area… if i go back to BP i will be sure to review my new experience, but till then if you go get their chicken fajitas

Great complimentary red salsa. Order the filet of fish mojo de ajo style. It’s the very best I’ve eaten. Handmade tortillas. Yum. They give a green salad with it. The tomatoes in it are always the hothouse kind.

This place doesn’t even deserve 1 star. I called to order and a lady picked up speaking in Spanish. She HUNGUP after I spoke English saying«I would like to order a molcajete». I called back and nobody picked up.

The only thing I like about this place is because it’s close to my house and the food is not the best … Menudo sometimes is good some times is bad so yeah not the best …

Amazing hole in the wall. Doesn’t look like much from the outside, but the inside is beautiful and the food is amazing! So tasty and affordable. Had the Chilaquilles and Machaca plates for breakfast. Our two plates and one Café de Olla came out to $ 17. Great food, great prices– going back soon.

So disappointed in the service. We showed up 11:45. Waitress did not take our order till 12:00 and said it was to late for breakfast and it at ended at at noon! We have been coming here for nearly 2 years and will not be returning after this visit. All it takes is one bad experience to lose a loyal customer!

The service was okay. We had went on a slow day so there was only two groups there. The waitress was friendly although after taking our order and bringing our food she would disappear in between. The seats are uncomfortable. The tables are fairly close to each other. The place was clean and had a homely feeling in it. The food was grear, definately revist to explore the menu. the aquas was good too, did bot have the full selection listed but I was content. I would recommend one or all of tbree things of the menu. Which is the shrimo cocktail, chicken fajitas, or the mocahete. Sum it up– clean estabkishment, pricey, great aquas, magician waitress. Give this place a try, maybe on a weekend so that you catchva crowd. Whats more fun then looking at whar everyone else got.

Food was good, had the machaca and eggs, the horchata was too sweet, but the food was good. Service was good and the place was very clean.

They have good chicken fajitas. It 2was a large portion, enough for 2 to share. We left full after the chips and salsa too. The corn tortillas were yummy! Hand made :)

After a meeting in Irwindale my classmates and I wanted to eat some bomb mexican food… and we found El Jacal! WOW the prices were ONPOINT. It was stinkin cheap for great ambiance and delicious food. I ordered a burrito and I couldn’t even finish it. i took that deliciousness home with me. I would come back again to this restaurant when we have a meeting in the area again! The salsa and chips they served were amazing too. usually restaurants skimp out on this but you could tell it was really fresh! Def recommend

Love the authentic Mexican breakfast here! Even the coffee«de hoya» is yummy. I like their chilaquiles and their«Carne en su Jugo»(beef stew).
