Great food and service. I had sushi and it tasted very fresh and flavorfull. The mixed drinks are also great. I went there with my friends and can’t wait to being my husband there as well. Prices are not the cheapest but also not crazy expensive. This place is comparable to Bambu in Danbury.

This place is called Top Hibachi not just«Top» by the way. We were recently invited here for a birthday party. We reserved a Hibachi table for 20 people. Everything was fine and the food was delicious. The sake the table cooks pour into your mouth during their cooking show was also great. Kids had also lots of fun even though the smaller ones were little afraid of the hibachi table’s fire. The décor of this place is excellent and remind me the top Manhattan’s Asian Fusion restaurants. The prices as for this type of a restaurant and this type of food were average and match prices of other places as this. The only thing I don’t like about these kind of restaurants is… the cooks that cook the food in front of you, fill you up with the rice and pasta first leaving the best(meat and seafood) for the end, and by the time you are ready to try the steak or a salmon you are too full ! Plus they should give you the entire steak(filet mignon in my case) you ordered, but instead, they chop the steak in pieces during the cooking show and split it among the people who sit around the table. So I got only 6 little pieces(cubes) of the steak I ordered. Rest of my steak went to other guest at the table who didn’t even ask for it. I also got few fried shrimps on my plate which I didn’t order and I’m sure the person who ordered them felt the same. So in conclusion… the food was very good but you don’t always get what you ordered or not enough of the food that you ordered and you’ve been waiting for! The chefs shouldn’t mix the food on their tables as they do!

Though I kinda missed the Chinese place that used to be here, Top is something that was needed in this neighborhood. Very nice place to go with family. We tried the sushi and other items from menu, not the hibachi grill. I will definitely go back and try their hibachi as well. Only thing that wasn’t good was heating inside the place. The weather was in the 30s outside and I would say 40s inside. Very cold and we had to keep our jacket on. Maybe if we had sat on the hibachi tables, it would have been better. ;-)

Love the atmosphere in this place. It was freezing in there though I kept my big puffy jacket on the entire time. Drinks took extremely long, I’m not much of a complainer I know how it is in restaurants but it took extremely long. Food came out really cold because they don’t warm their plates at all. They put it right onto cold plates and it’s cold by the time you begin to eat and it wasn’t all that tasty. However I will definitely be back to give it another try because the atmosphere is so nice.

Somers has needed a spot like Top for a long time. The ambiance here is very cool and modern, it’s a great place for people in their 20s and 30s to come and grab a drink. I hosted a Thanksgiving Eve party here and while the turnout wasn’t as big as we would have liked the restaurant was still relatively new at the time. Give it a little time and I think Top will easily be able to rival popular bars like J.P.‘s in Mahopac and Murphy’s in Yorktown. It’s 10x nicer inside than both of those and it’s close to Yorktown, Mahopac, and Somers. Location wise it’s a little weird that this place is in a strip mall, but once you’re inside you’d never be able to tell and it’s very easy to find parking. Mark the bar manager is a really nice dude and while the staff is not the most polished they’re very good in general. The food is very good, but the drinks could be made a little stronger.

Normally I am a little biased about sushi, but this was truly phenomenal. Everything was gorgeous, sushi was super fresh, and this place has an awesome vibe. It started when we first sat down. We sat at the sushi bar so we could watch everything that was going on. They first brought over the salmon sushi pizza. The«pizza dough» was a layer of rice that had been fried to make it crispy. Then they layered on a thin sheet of beautifully sliced avocado. Then they added a spring mix of different lettuces. Then they added sliced sushi salmon and drizzled it with TWO sauces. And if that wasn’t enough, they blow torched the top. They then sliced it into little triangles. They also added some cubed mango for color. The sushi was very pretty and expertly crafted. I got mine with a white tuna roll. They made it lightning fast so the customers weren’t waiting very long. Normally, sushi is delicious and pretty, but this was taken to a whole new dimension of good. The waitstaff was very friendly and they went out of their way to make sure we were pleased. The sushi chefs collaborated to make sure that things went as quick as possible. For instance, 3 people did sushi and 3 people did rolls. As for the décor, there were disco lights with fun music. They were playing the new artists like Justin Bieber, Adele and more. I can tell that they make a huge effort to ensure that everyone is satisfied. And if it was up to me, I would say that they succeeded. Everything was very fairly priced. I got 9 pieces and a roll for $ 22.00. Overall, I can guarantee that I will be back to Top in Baldwin Place.

Weird décor, flashing lights, neon signs. Drinks were not good(wine tasted like it had been open for too long and went bad and margarita tasted like straight tequila). Slow service, sushi had been made and waiting for a while. Food was okay environment was not

First time there. We had our 6-year old with us and it was appropriate for kids. Very large menu to choose from. My husband and daughter had sushi rolls and liked them. I had chicken and broccoli from the kitchen which was tasty, if a tad overpriced. We ordered edamame and gyoza for apps and both were generously portioned and fresh. Nice to know there’s a decent Asian place near us. Wouldn’t go out of my way to go there though.

Stars are given PURELY towards the food. Everything is fresh, delicious, and unbelievably creative and tasty. Always order out(at least once a week) but have never dined in. Dined in for the first time over the weekend and let me tell you — I watched our sushi sit on the counter, prepared and ready to go for 20 minutes! By the time our food got to the table, the avocado was brown! Food comes to my house quicker than it came to our table, and it was a slow day with 4 tables of people. I had to ask the bus boy to go and check on our food because our female waitress had no sense of attentiveness. She was quick to bring us the check though which I found comical. I wish I could have tipped the guys making the sushi because they were on point. Our waitress was too busy staring around aimlessly instead of paying attention to her job! The ambiance is cool, the whole restaurant is clean aside from the table tops. They had water streaks all over them.

Really Great Tasting and beautifully presented Sushi And Sashimi dishes in Somers. You walk in and feel like you are in some upscale restaurant in South Beach.

Very good sushi. We’re Friday night regulars and sit at the sushi bar so we’ve established a rapport with the sushi chef(«Tony») and his assistants. We’re treated the way you’d expect to be treated when you’re a regular, which is refreshing because not every place does that anymore. The regular fish selection is missing a few items I’d like to see there but what it offers is extremely fresh and tasty. There are always specials to tempt us, too. I’ve yet to have a single bad bite of fish here. The chef is more than competent — he’s very creative and clearly loves preparing food for people who appreciate it. His accompanying sauces are really well suited for the fare. The chefs are all very pleasant and enthusiastic. Whenever we order something special everyone wants to know how we like it. The wait staff are young and pretty hip with the right attitudes. Sapporo on tap — need I say more? We have enjoyed each of our meals at Top and intend to keep on enjoying it as long as it stays this good.

Went tonight for my husband’s birthday and we sat on the hibachi side. Service was excellent and I was extremely impressed that they make a point to ask about any food allergies after taking your order to make sure that everything is prepared correctly. Our hibachi chef, Leo, was fantastic and really doted on the little boy sitting at our table, which I’m sure made his evening! The food was just as good in the restaurant as it was when we ordered take-out. I’m sure we will be back.

We had a great experience here! From the street it looks like nothing. But when you walk inside, it is gorgeous! I went with my sister and my daughter, who is 3 ½. I wouldn’t recommend bringing young kids here, as they don’t have a kids menu, but otherwise, they welcome families with children. The owner, Andy, really cares about his business and he treated us like family! The waitstaff was nice and the food came out super fast! We loved everything we ordered. I had the chicken hibachi and my sister had the Green Mountain roll. We ordered Thai chicken lettuce wraps, which were good, but a little messy. Probably should use butter lettuce leaves. The cocktails are strong, and delicious! We will definitely be coming back soon and regularly. Beats Kobu in Mahopac, HANDSDOWN!

First time here I came in on a Thursday night with my boyfriend. Loved the décor, food, drinks, and ambiance. I had a deliscious lychee martini although it was a bit on the sweet side. My White a Plains roll was awesome and my bf had sashimi on a nice plate. I’ll be back

I really don’t get all these 4 and 5 star reviews for this place… it was okay at best. We dined here Saturday after the Feast of San Genaro in Yorktown was a bust. We chose to eat on the traditional side rather than the hibachi side since we wanted sushi. We were starving so we ordered 3 appetizers to start so we could peruse the rest of the menu. The seafood gyoza was decent, however it came with 5 pieces… not ideal for sharing. Next were the scallion pancakes. They were soggy and chewy and dough… not light, flaky and crispy as they should have been. The Thai chicken wings were gross. Not crispy, had a strange, almost bitter flavor and were very fatty. The waitress also talked us into getting 4, blue point oysters. What she didn’t tell us what that they put this spicy, tropical juice in each… it was terrible. Why ruin a perfectly freshly shucked oyster with anything but a little lemon juice and a touch of horseradish? Entrees were a a Queens roll for me, 1 piece of salmon sushi, 1 piece of yellowtail sushi, 1 piece of white tuna sushi and hibachi noodles. My husband got the blue crab avocado roll, the lobster wasabi roll and split the noodles with me. The noodles tasted burnt and the sushi… ugh. His were fine, however mine had the texture of being previously frozen(slimy), were cut very thin and were just not good. The spicy tuna was mushed to within a inch of its life and had zero texture to it. My husband decided he wanted to try dessert as well. He settled on the pistachio dessert(they just had a weird overall dessert selection) and we could immediately tell these were pre-packaged and previously frozen desserts. They also decided it was worth $ 9.00 Pickings are slim in the general area for sushi, so I suspect this is one of the reasons for the high marks. Do yourself a favor one day and drive to Croton-on-Hudson…maybe a 20 minute drive down the Taconic. There’s a place called Asagao sushi(not open Sunday like any self respecting sushi place) and they have amazingly FRESH sushi. The spicy tuna will change your life as it has chunks of fresh tuna and not a ton of thick, gloppy spicy mayo. The fish is all thick cut and NEVER frozen.

Finally got a chance to try out Top. The décor is a bit jarring at first with lots of white and blue. Not really sure how to describe it. Modernistic? The good news is that all the white surfaces mandate impeccable cleaning standards. After you get used to it — it somehow all works. Our first visit was to the sushi bar. We were seated by the hostess and greeted immediately by a server. Everyone was attentive and friendly. Three sushi chefs teamed up to bang out our meal in short order. The sushi menu is extensive and spans several pages. We tried several specialty rolls and were served exquisitely presented creations of high quality ingredients. We will definitely return to sample the rest of the menu. Now I need to come up with a good excuse for a hibachi party!

The entrance took me a bit of time to find, but as soon as I stepped through the door, I knew this place would be a fun, modern place. The whole place has blue chandeliers on the ceiling, neon lights, a bunch of TVs, and an overall cool décor. I ordered General Tso’s chicken, the lunch bowl portion for just over $ 11. If you order the lunch bowl rather than the lunch special, you get more on the side. First, the brought me a small bowl of salad. The dressing tasted somewhat like ranch, but much better. The salad was just a regular salad with a cherry tomato, but the dressing added so much to it. Next, they brought a small appetizer plate that came with my lunch bowl– a plate of two egg rolls, two dumplings and a spicy sauce side. It was all very delicious, and the dumplings were green, and although it seemed odd, it was very delicious. Finally, I had the general tso’s chicken and it tasted very good. It wasn’t spicy at all, and tasted sweet, served with brown rice and broccoli. It was perfect. I tried a few tastes of other dishes my sister and mom had, and they all tasted amazing! The workers were very nice, constantly filling up water and helping out.

I have frequented this place ever since it has open, a week ago. My initiation thoughts of this establishment were very pleasant and they continue to be. Last Saturday I went with 4 of my friends and we had a great time. The bartender, who had never bartended before was working her tail off to learn a skill she has never done before. The owner was running around helping with the complicated drink. He made my Long Island Ice tea which was more of a Long Island Cola, but he realized and gave me a free one. When they opened the LII was $ 8 which was a bargain, the owner quick realized this and bumped the price up to the standard $ 10. I am still trying to figure out what the deal is with the music notes. I just don’t get it. The rest of the place is cool, I guess. but they are trying sooo hard. It is very tacky. All in all I really like this place and will be back again!!!
