I loved this place, probably as much for the company and atmosphere as anything else. We had a great time here with our outdoor seating and the entertainment which was terribly funny. The food and drink are good but the service is lacking. We would definitely go again.

Great little pub. Good service but I was surprised at the poor quality of meat in my steak salad. It was fatty, lots of grissle and basically not fit to eat. Was able to send it back for something else but surprised. They are known for being a quality meat market. Staff: excellent Timeliness: excellent Food: mediocre. Probably will try again but maybe not.

Unfortunately really great food but when I told them that I had to kill a ROACH at my booth they said they have never seen a bug before and refused discount our food. Even showed us a receipt for the recent extermination. It’s apparent there is a problem. I have been here a few times and it has been great until this evening, I will never be back.

A great little neighborhood pub with great food. The service is ok, and unfortunately they always seem to be chronically understaffed as there are usually multiple tables that need to be cleared on the weekend evenings. The prices are great and their steak night is definitely worth going for as is their homemade bread pudding. Really like this place, just wish they had a little more help to make the experience more consistent. Also, a little refresh on some of their booth cushions would be a worthwhile investment.

This dive bar type restaurant is not much on ambiance or service. But the drinks are inexpensive and strong and the food was delicious. I came with co-workers on a Tuesday night, which is fried chicken night. $ 8 for 3 pieces of dark meat, and 2 sides. This meal was huge, delicious and far more than I can eat, so I took some home. The fried chicken was delicious and I mean finger licking good! I’ll have to come back to try their ribs for $ 1 each on Wednesdays!

I went here tonight with my daughter and her friend again! It’s great to go anytime but the best day of the week is Tuesday! They honestly have the most amazing fried chicken I have ever had! I hate to say it but with 3 pieces of chicken, I never leave with leftovers!!!

This charming place was a great find in Ballwin! They have a butcher shop on premise, so it should be no surprise that the steak was outstanding! Ribs also looked great, and all potato dishes rocked too. Great neighborhood place… you should definitely visit if in the area. And if you find out what the deal is with all of the signed dollar bills hanging everywhere, please let me know. :)

Love this place. Delicious burgers and love their fried pickles and potato skins! Fish and chips were great and the Reuben is good.

Best little small restaurant in Ballwin. Always fresh meat. Limited menu, but everything is great.

Wife and I had dinner last night. Sat at the bar — service was quick and friendly. Great Reuben and the onion rings are tasty!

I really like Clancy’s, I think their food and atmosphere are pretty good. My husband and I have been a few different times I think only on Friday nights, and they’ve never been too packed. I’ve had their fish & chips, which were very good and large portioned. My husband’s had their burger & Reuben, and he enjoyed both. The service in general is just so-so(one of their waitresses is rather emotionless) and their menu is limited, but we’ve never had bad food. I do wish they had a few more beer selections on tap. I’d recommend this place to anyone in the Ballwin area looking for a low-key date night or outing with friends.

Just left Clancys, hate to rip them but their service is terrible. We have eaten their several times and the food is always good, but their service seems to get worse rather than better. Examples: It took about 15 minutes to get our menu after being seated Waited another 10 minutes to get our drinks After getting our food we asked 3 different people for silverware never returned with any so we got up and found our own By the way, only order the prime rib sandwich if your not too hungry, it is actually only a half sandwich, more like a snack size than a meal size

Went there on Saturday night for advertised steak special. Time was 6:30PM. Told two of three steaks were sold out. Server disappeared for 10 minutes and when tried to order steak told they were ALL sold out. Would up ordering burger which was FAIR at best. SERVICEWASTERRIBLE. Server just disappeared; must have had second job elsewhere. People at next table said it was their third time there(and last) and they had reson why steak was not available. This was my first, also my last time there. I usually tip at least 20%, and I don’t even remember ever leaving a zero tip, but I did Saturday night. YOUHAVEBEENWARNED

I have been to Clancy’s on three separate occasions in the past month and their food is amazing. First visit was to sample one of the River Front Times recommended cheeseburgers. The 8 oz cheeseburger was coined perfect medium rare and had a freshly ground taste. One of the best cheeseburgers I have had. I went a second time to try more of the menu and was pleased to find out it was Steak Night Saturday. I had my taste buds set on the Reuben, which was the best I have had in St. Louis. Third visit was on a Tuesday for the Fried chicken, equally amazing. The only strike was the service. It felt like the kitchen cooked one table at a time, and you saw the waitress four times(seating, order, food delivery and bill).

I went here for the first time yesterday. Pretty dang good. The beef brisket was very tender and not overly smoked. The $ 1 rib Wednesday nights are a good bargain too. I would come back. We had two dinners, 4 ribs and 2 beers for $ 34. Not a bad deal.

Went for buck rib night. These are some of the meatiest pork baby back ribs I have ever had. Great smoked flavor and very tender. We had fries which were ok because they were the small string ones and onion straws. They call them rings but there is not much ring about them, but they taste great nonetheless. Food gets 5 Stars! Getting the order placed was fast as was the kitchen but when it was time to get going to make it back to watch game 1 of the World Series, our server was no where to be found. Ordering and kitchen speed was 5 star but paying the bill and getting back going was 0 – 1 star. Finally got one of the other servers to ring us out so we could make it home in time. Not a place to go if you have a schedule but if you are just ok with hanging while the servers come and go then this is the place for you.

My college chum and I went Friday for a late lunch. You do have to seat yourself. We chose a booth with well-worn cushions that had seen better days. They’ve got a good lunch special for $ 6.95. Choice of 6-oz. burger, barbeque pork sandwich, grilled chicken breast, ham club, ½ smoked chicken or 1-inch pork chop. Comes with one side. Choices are: side salad, fries, creamy cole slaw, sweet and sour slaw, baked beans, green beans or potato salad. My college chum got the burger with homemade chips that cost $ 1 extra. I got the pork chop. Then we went into an inquisition about the potato salad. They have three. Mayonnaise-based, mustard-based and German. I focused on the mustard-based, but then needed to know what else was in the potato salad besides potatoes. Celery. Hard-boiled eggs. That was it. That’s what I got. The burger was served on a hoagie roll. The homemade chips were abundant. The pork chop(although I didn’t measure it) didn’t look like one inch. But there is shrinkage. Came with a little cup of barbeque sauce. Service was nice. Refills on beverages was attentive. Never saw a smile on that girl’s face. The burger was fine. The homemade chips were fine. The pork chop had good flavor, but was quite chewy. The potato salad was outstanding. With all the chewing and chatting, I ate ¼ of my pork chop, two bites of potato salad, and I was done. Took all that home, including the extras of my college chum’s homemade chips, which were quite tasty.

Clancy’s has been a personal favorite for several years. Saint Patricks day is a great time to be there as the corned beef and cabbage is everything you would expect. Much to my surprise however that must be the only day this applies. Recently went there and decided to have cb&c only to be served corned beef from a bag that was awful. Stick with the burgers and steaks and leave the cb&c to Saint Patricks day only.

So we decided to visit the weekend of St Patrick’s day. We were there for lunch, so it wasn’t too bad. We did have to wait for a table since we had a large crowd, but that was ok. They were packed, so we had to wait a little bit for service. The waitress came over and took our drink orders. She then gave us a little slip of paper that had a few choices on it. This was our menu. OK, cool. What we didn’t know, was that sides were separate. So we had ordered one and shared it with the rest of the table. Our meal came in a styrafoam container. The adults at the table went with the Reuben(Made with Clancy’s Authentic 5th Generation Corned Beef, topped with swiss, sauerkraut & dressing). The kids at the table went with the only kid thing on the menu at the time, the hot dog. The Reuben was so good. The corned beef made the sandwich. We had to cut it with a fork and knife. I would like to go back when it isn’t a holiday and check out their menu.

Probably the best brisket sandwich and au gratin potatoes I’ve ever had in my life. You have to eat here.
