My wife surprise me at the last minute by telling me that we were going to a free fall event especially on a Sunday. She knows Sunday is football day for me. However I went anyway not knowing what we were going to see or listen to. I was pleasantly surprised when I realized we were going to listen to Phil Ravita jazz group. Even though we were fifteen minutes late. I really enjoy listening to the sound of jazz any day of the week. I really enjoyed the band especially the drummer because he was so into his music. Even though this was my first time listening to there music. I will definitely be listening to more of there music.

I have walked passed this place a thousand times and wondered what was behind those big white doors. Thanks to Free Fall Baltimore I was able to experience the wonderful sound of Phil Ravita Jazz group. We was running late and had to find parking. So, surprised we were able to find close parking around the corner. We rushed in and climbed the stairs to the second floor to find the box-office. There, we ere greeted by friendly staff. Hate to admit this, we were half an hour late. I know boo boo! Thankfully we were admitted in and found seats. The seats were cozy but needs much tender loving care(yes I had to write that out). We you close your eyes, you feel like you have been transported away. This was my first Jazz concert but it won’t be my last. I can see me returning soon. Looking for a relaxing date night out? This is the place.

The setting is a bit run down, but the music is really the reason to go to An Die Musik. Musicians play to a crowd of dedicated musical fans, many of them regulars, and the wing-back chairs make the listening experience comfortable to say the least. Very much worth a visit.

Loved the experience! Just visiting Baltimore I found this place on Unilocal.Really good music, not expensive and very intimate place. Living in NYC it was a nice change to the very business minded venues in NYC that have you leave instantly after the last note was played. You have to check it out!

I wasn’t really sure what to think when one of my favorite Chicago saxs, Ken Vandermark, decided to come to An Die Musik with AbBaars. I’d never heard of the place, and it was in Baltimore, but I wasn’t going to miss it. I actually ordered tickets in advance by calling the store and giving them my credit card… which I found out when I got there was totally unnecessary. The place itself is sort of like a house. The bottom floor is a really cool record store and then the top level is where the performances are. The space itself is actually really tiny, and I was able to get into the front row of mismatched chairs without any problem. The crowd was primarily hardcore jazz enthusiasts, mostly old men, with a couple of college kids who were well on their way to becoming old jazz men thrown in for good measure. They sold refreshments in between sets, and a good time was had by all. I definitely look through their listings every week or so just to see who is coming through, because this place is much more alive than any jazz club that we have in DC right now.

This is the type of place that you can only find on the East Coast. Anywhere else it would be «like» one of those cool re-purposed, multi-functional arts spaces. In Baltimore, it IS a rowhouse that has been converted into a gathering gallery space, music store, and intimate, upstairs concert hall. The red, plush chairs upstairs are a respite in a sea of uncomfortable concert seating. Most concerts also have adult beverages and snacks available. An Die Musik is the home of the wonderful Evolution Series, bringing quality contemporary classical music to Baltimore. Definitely go with open ears and enjoy some really great programming.

I was here three weeks ago for a live recording and the acoustics in the hall are immaculate. Show prices vary definitely reasonable, and are usually double sets. Alcohol, soda, and water are fair too…

What a nice venue. A place where one can go and listen to live music without the bar scene. We saw AfroBop here and they were great. Featured some talented local guys. I will certainly make a point to come back here.

Just had the pleasure of watching Felicia Carter here. It really is an intimate venue – which I liked about this place. We walked in and were directed to buy tickets in the shop, located all the way in the back of the first floor. The guy we bought our tickets from was very sociable and let us know what other shows were coming up that we might be interested in. They sell drinks during the show: Cups of wine for $ 4, bottles of beer for $ 4, and sodas for $ 1, which is pretty reasonable if you ask me. Since the place is small, the sound is great. I also really like how music is given respect here as an art form.

What a wonderful venue for Classical, Jazz, and New World artists. Sit in one of less than 80 seats — very intimate — and hear great eclectic music for $ 5 to $ 20. [Student & Senior discounts, too] A real bargain, and you are helping local artists. Also has some Peabody Conservatory student and faculty nights that are free or only $ 5.
