Love coming here for brunch! It’s a great under the radar place and the food is fantastic, I especially am obsessed with the stuffed mascarpone and fig stuffed french toast. I’m not quite as big a fan for dinner, but then again have never been disappointed.

This place has great reviews so I thought to give it a try for dinner with a friend. I made a reservation and was seated immediately upon arrival. The restaurant is uncomfortably tiny. I was sitting no further than five inches away from the next table and could barely hear my own thoughts. It’s very packed and noisy. There’s a great selection of food choices and I believe I just chose the wrong items. I ordered from the prix fixe menu. First was the arugula salad. Bore. Next was the chargrilled chicken. It looked amazing but once I started to cut into it, I was concerned. Even more concerned upon consumption. It has an awkward texture to it. Too tender for my liking. Almost as if it was not cooked all the way. I’m sure it met the recommended poultry temperature but it was not good. At all. Fortunately the dessert was to die for. I ordered the blondie, salted caramel ice cream over a cake like base. That was amazing. The staff was excellent and the parking was easy and free. I personally would not recommend this restaurant to anyone based off of the food and the atmosphere of the restaurant.

Five family members had an impromptu night out at B Bistro, and we were all thrilled with the atmosphere, food, drinks, and service. The charcuterie platter was a bit«thin,» but the selections were delicious(especially the pâtê). A handful of us shared small plates: the chef’s special risotto(that night, it was shrimp with roasted red pepper and caramelized onion), the pork belly, and the brussels sprouts. Another one of us tried the burger. All the food was well cooked and absolutely delicious. The pork belly was a standout! We were thrilled with the service. Our server was polite and helpful.(He made a helpful beer and wine recommendation.) Overall, we really enjoyed our experience and will certainly be returning.

So I was in town with my friends and we stumbled across this quirky little bistro near my place! I enjoyed the duck and the wine it was AMAZING. My waiter Ayaka was in training but she served me incredibly well! She was so nice that it seemed like she was my aunteh! Honestly Ayaka was the reason why this place got a 5 ;). A definite MUST try restaurant!

When it comes to making reservations, I can understand there are caveats to them, like when you can’t control when a table takes too long to get up and potentially delays the next party from sitting down on time. For me, this was just poor table management when we arrived for our table of six at 12p this past Sunday. When we arrived there were three four-top tables open, two of them right next to each other. All that needed to be done was to slide the two tables together and WALA! We could have been seated on time. Instead, they decided to sit four other people who arrived after us at one of the tables, splitting the two tables that were next to each other, apart. This delayed our reservation by 15 minutes. Sure, it’s not a crazy amount of time, but when you know and see that you could have been seated on time and you weren’t, it’s a disappointment. On top of that, there was no apology or remorse shown for this mistake. Once we were seated, they took another 15 minutes before anyone took our drink orders, which came with no apology either. We put our food orders in and again, another long wait came. Other tables of four who sat after us were served before we were. When we did get our orders, two of us had dirty plates, three of us had cold potatoes and my sausage gravy that came with the chicken and waffles was also ice cold. And it’s a Catch 22 situation too because we’ve already waited too long for our food, and while not all of it was cold, you just want to eat and not be hassled with trying to flag a waiter down, sending the food back and waiting even longer. There was some good to the food, like the Salmon Eggs Benedict and French Toast, but overall, this was a poor experience. Sometimes a restaurant only gets one chance to make a good impression and B Bistro did not deliver. I felt bad too because this was chosen by my sister for her birthday and it came as a partial disappointment, and I say partial because we as a family made the best of the situation. If there was just some kind of acknowledgement to the fact that we were poorly served, it might have changed the situation tremendously, but to act as if nothing happened at all? Ugh.

Food was very good but service was not. We had a reservation for brunch and got there on time. Waited 15 minutes to be seated. Waited another 15 minutes til we got drinks and ordered. I had smoked salmon eggs Benedict on scallion polenta discs. Very tasty. Was looking forward to the home fries but they were cold so I didn’t eat them. They should have given a discount for seating us late and serving cold food.

Amazing! Went here for restaurant week and received impeccable service, fantastic food and enjoyed the serene ambience. The appetizers(kale caesar, split pea soup and arugula salad) were all fresh and well portioned and the entrees(cod and steak) were beautifully cooked and paired with delicious sides. My friends had ice cream for dessert and all of the flavors were delicious. I got a chocolate mousse merengue and it was only ok. Only low point of the meal. The food is not wild or inventive, but it is simple, delicious food done exceedingly well. The wine list is also delicious and our server helped us to pair the wines perfectly. The service here is also top notch – we were on a tight schedule trying to get to the Baltimore Rock Opera and they were able to fill our orders quickly so we were able to get out the door on time! Definitely a great place for a date or to take parents as its a little on the pricey side, but I will definitely be back.

Enjoy the atomosphere and the semi open kitchen. On my first visit I had just had mussels which were stringy and some didnt even open. On my second visit I had a steak which was cooked to perfection. The mashed potatoes which accompained the steak were a little to buttery. The service on both occassions left much to be desired. On the first visit the server didn’t appear to be too keen on taking back the mussels do I left. On the second visit the server was a little too friendly and hovered. I will give it another chance in the future.

Five of us went for New Year’s Eve and had a great time. It was a fixed price menu, and while not worth $ 75(I wouldn’t have ordered some of the stuff I was compelled to order), it was excellent. I had the tenderloin, and I sampled some of another guest’s pork chop. We live in the neighborhood and while the restaurant has evolved from a nice neighborhood place to more of a special occasion type of establishment, the food has never disappointed.

I ordered the trout — OK, a little salty and the sliced olives made it sour, but I can accept the some folk would have liked it. My wife had the mussels with fries. Two thirds of the mussels weren’t open and the ones that were were stringy and mealy. We told the waiter and he said he’d check with the chef and came back a couple of minutes later to say that the chef said the mussels were fresh. I responded that we weren’t saying they were old, just not edible. He didn’t seem to accept this, so I said«when I was a waiter, chefs tended not to listen to negative comments from the waiter.» His response was«Don’t project onto me — the chef and I both care that our customers are happy. « We asked for the check and he said«I gave you a discount on the mussels. « Which he did, but 50% off an inedible meal? It will be a while before we go back.

In a word, spotty. I’ve had a few great meals here. Unfortunately, I’ve raved about the place to friends who dined here with us only to be a little disappointed. So for me this is a place where you hold your breath and, if it’s the right night, you might be wowed.

Simply unacceptable and it’s not cheap… I ordered the prix fixe menu with tuna tartare, duck entrée & flourless chocolate cake… Tuna tartare– extremely greasy… smothered in oil Duck — so overcooked… and strangely flavored with fruit… too sweet Chocolate cake — strange consistency Never coming back here ever again

B had been on our to try list for quite a long time, but hadn’t floated its way to the top to be tried urgently. It ended up being the location of a group meetup, so I was excited to finally give it a shot, though it seems we may have waited too long as the quality was lower than many reviews from four or five years ago seem to indicate. Note that the menu online is quite outdated(a few years), though many of the items are quite similar. I did the three-course prix-fixe, and tried: tuna tartare(soy truffle vinaigrette, scallion, toasted sesame seeds) duck breast(spinach, toasted pine nuts, couscous, raisin and pineapple chutney) vanilla crème brûlée The tuna tartare is quite small, and while the tuna itself was somewhat fresh, it was not seasoned at all. I actually had to ask for salt, which shocked a few of the people I was dining with since I’m the one that is always complaining that things are too salty. For the $ 9 that it would be outside of the prix-fixe, this isn’t something I would order again. The duck was a nicer sized portion, but it was absolutely screaming for a sauce. The couscous was nicely cooked but a little boring, the pine nuts did not have any toasted flavor, and there was really just a lot of spinach. I love spinach, so this was fine, but the other person in our group who ordered the same dish just pushed it all to the side, and seemed annoyed that it was«filler». The duck was nicely cooked, but not spectacular. For the $ 27 that it would be outside the prix-fixe, I would just make this myself at home instead and make a sauce for it! It needed a sauce and it needed texture. Everything on the plate was the same texture, and it seemed very amateur. The crème brûlée was a waste of calories. Watery texture, no vanilla flavor, too-thick sugar crust. Berries on top were the best part. Would not order again nor recommend.

I like this place. It’s quaint and kind of hidden. I like the open kitchen bistro feel of the place. My friends and I did a lot of sharing. That’s my favorite way to have dinner. Lot’s of tastes, less decisions. We shared a bunch of appetizers. My favorite was this pumpkin ravioli. The pasta was al dente and stuffed with a savory, yet somehow sweet pumpkin purée. There were toasted pumpkin seeds and brown butter and sage. The brown butter oil was the perfect dipping sauce for their focaccia. I wish they had given us more. I may have stolen my friends. Mmmmm, bread… I ordered the duck breast, cooked to an optimal medium rare. It was good, sliced on top of a wild rice pilaf with fresh greens. The duck was rich with a crispy skin. I like the slight gamey taste to duck. It complemented the dark berry drizzle that came with it. We also had scallops, totally fine. They served it with chunks of pork belly — large chunks equal to the size of the scallops. Neither beat the steak; it was the highlight of the meal. It was perfectly medium rare and served with fantastically creamy and buttery mashed potatoes. There was grilled asparagus and a tasty pan sauce drizzled over the dish. This place is good. Consistently good, sometimes really good. I have yet to experience great. They are a nice date spot, so I will keep trying.

With the feel of a classic French bistro, B Bistro delivers delicious food and well-paired wines in a warm, cozy environment. Rich rustic colors are balanced with clean lines and understated décor, resulting in a modern but warm ambiance. My friend and I tried B for the first time this past Sunday, swooping in for the first night of Restaurant Week. We were promptly seated, despite being a few minutes early for our 6 pm reservation. We had quite a bit of catching up to do, and the waitress did a great job of balancing attentiveness with space. For our first course, I dove straight for the crispy oysters over sriracha aioli, which were light, crispy corneal batter encasing a tender oyster, with the creamy kick of chili spice. My friend opted for the potato leek soup, which was hands-down one of the best potato soups I’ve tasted: creamy and savory, but in no way heavy. Out of the entrée options, I was torn between the bolognese and the rockfish, so we got one of each. The pasta was a solid 4 out of 5, but the rockfish totally stole the show. Perfectly broiled on the outside to add the slightest of crunches to the skin, and buttery flaky meat inside, all set atop crispy French green beans, and a sweet potato/yukon potato hash. I haven’t had a fish dish I enjoyed to this degree in years, if ever. Next time you make it out to B, this is a must-order. I wish I’d gotten a second portion to eat the next day. Onto dessert! I couldn’t resist the promise of that telltale spoon cracking the crust of the crème brûlée, and ordered accordingly. Perfectly executed in terms of flavor and texture, but I do wish they’d taken the flame to it right before serving, as it was a tad on the cool side. My friend’s salted caramel ice cream was quite a bit of the former, and not so much of the latter. I’m a girl that loves salt, but it was a touch much. There was a slight problem with the bill when we were charged for desserts on top of the Restaurant Week $ 30(covers all 3 courses), but the manager was gracious and prompt in resolving the issue. Overall, I’m a huge fan of B Bistro, and will definitely be back for round 2! Fingers crossed their rockfish is on the menu…

We’ve enjoyed a few meals at B, but went recently and it was disappointing. We ordered small plates. A cheese plate was included, and was brought out quickly, but the wait for the next small plate was so long we started to worry we might be in for a long night if each plate was brought out one by one with about a 10 minute wait in between each. Meanwhile, we’re watching others near us who ordered after we did get their nice warm meals. I said something to the manager. We found out our«ravioli had exploded in the kitchen.» That’s fine, but our server never said anything about a problem with our order. The manager offered us both glasses of wine on them. My husband had finished his, so he was able to partake, but because I had so much wine left, I didn’t. The manager didn’t really offer anything else to me, although I was the one who complained. An extra small plate or dessert would have been nice. We had also said to the server that we don’t like blue cheese and could she recommend a cheese that wasn’t too«blue cheesy.» And of course, what did we get, a blue-like cheese. The server was nice, but just lacked personality, and she seemed to have too many tables. I noticed a few people waiting for checks looking annoyed. Manager could have done a bit more to make it right. The food wasn’t as good as usual either. It was just an off night for them. Don’t think we’ll be back anytime soon. We go out so infrequently we see it as a treat… this wasn’t that.

Good for impressing a date. I would recommend ordering a few plates to share(the plates are small though) Definitely tasty but there’s a bad money-to-portion ratio. I might just be spoiled from living in New Orleans for so long though.

Good food. Not great, but certainly good. Wait person was friendly but may have had too many tables or less experienced. Bus table staff was very efficient and friendly as well. Had the soft shell crab which was good but not as good as Kali’s Court’s soft shell crabs which I happened to have the day before(plus, Kali’s gave two crabs for restaurant week price compared to b bistro’s one crab). Nice neighborhood spot for sure but for price, I think a bit pricey and would suggest you check out and maybe compare to some other restaurants like Woodberry Kitchen, maybe fork and wrench, Kali’s Court or a good steak chain… if you’re gonna spend that kinda cash anyway.
