Baltimore Ravens

Proud fan since day 1. Some Washingphoians think I jumped on the bandwagon when they started winning, well I went to the first game in history and have program and ticket stub to provide it. Sat through Teddy Marchirborada 16−31−1 three seasons. They started becoming an elite team around the turn of the Century and are the second most popular NFL team in the DC area. Some idiots from DC said about our Super Bowl Parade «What is it about Ravens and stabbings», I got news for them :“What is it about Redskins and losing?” And to all our naysayers, I say «I wear your scorn like a badge of honor» — J. Danford Quayle.

For those who didn’t know, before they were the Ravens they were actually the Cleveland Browns. But Art Modell changed the name when he left Cleveland.
When I think of the Ravens I think of Defense, sorry I don’t think about Joe Flacco aka Shane Falco :0 pun intended.
Over the past decade the Ravens always had a great defense. My favorite was watching the Best middle linebacker of that era #52 Ray Lewis. Possibly the best that’s played the game.#52 Patrick Willis of the 49ers was great but he retired early. It would have been cool to see what he could have done to cement his career amongst the greats.
This division is owned by the Ravens and Steelers. The Bengals and Browns, will pretty much be fighting for third place and last place respectively forever.
I like the little RB you guys have in Forsett and he’s locked up for a few years. Torry Smith has left and the wide out position needs to be addressed.

Balti is a type of cooking in England, it’s actually Indian food. It’s amazing. I wish that North American places that serve Indian food would offer Balti more. Get it?
First-​Hand Experience: I love Baltimore but I can’t stand the team. The colour, the crest, the history, the style. None of it. I don’t like the QB much either. However the last time I saw the Ravens play live in person was at home and they had Kyle Boller as QB (lol). It was against the Chiefs and Donte Hall got the winning kick return. I liked being here but the fans were awful to me and I got physically assaulted. Because I had a Chiefs jersey on.
So I’ve seen them play live once, it was at home, they lost. And I’m not a fan.
Now that I’ve seen every NFL team play live & been to every NFL stadium (current and former), time to review them on Unilocal!I love stadiums! I’ve been to every cool stadium in the UK & North America, due to my obsession with travel & sport. I’ve toured America as a musician for 7 years. In that time, I’ve seen sports games at (or visited when empty, or both) almost every major stadium in US and Canada. I have pictures of most which I’ll upload at some point. Also, on future travels, I plan to take new pix, and add more stadia! Watch this space!

I’m sorry, I can’t stannnnnnnnnnnnnnd the Ravens. I dunno why, you’ve had some awesome players (Lewis, Suggs, Boldin, Reed), but I just never liked you guys. Something about the purple, I don’t like purple. I don’t like tough defensive teams that cause injuries, I like Vermeil and Walsh type teams. Finesse and flash. Randy Moss. You get the idea. Running is boring.
You do have a cool stadium. I saw the Chiefs (my fave team) beat you on your own turf back in the Vermeil days, Donte Hall took a kick return back to win 17 – 10. Your fans threw things at me, some of them body checked me and tried to beat me up. I’m used to that kind of crap in Europe but not in Baltimore. I’m sure you think it’s cool but whatever.
Ray Lewis murder thing… creepy.
I don’t like your coach — or his brother.
I didn’t like Billick either, your ex coach. Or that you tried to get Terrell and then tried to sue him when he decided not to come. Terrell is just Terrell.
Oh and I’m kind of a Steelers fan. So there’s that.
But most of all, you are the Browns. You will always be the Browns. Someone stole the heart out of your city when they took the Colts away, and I hate the Colts for that. But then you went and did the same to the Browns. Changing the name will never change what you did. Terrible.
And between that hairy QB and that baldy one? You should play the baldie more. Ha. Ha.

Greatest fan base of any NFL team. Incredible owner, superstars all over the field, and Joe Flacco, the highest paid player of all time! Pow.

Haven’t always been a Ray Lewis, Suggs, or Ravens fan. But congrats Flaco, Rey Rice & the Baltimore Ravens on Superbowl win!

And here I wasn’t even going to watch, but once I put it on, I couldn’t change the channel. What a blood-​tingler of a contest this was. I almost didn’t want it to end!

I figured I better Unilocal these guys before I seem like a bandwagon fan. I became a closet Ravens fan when they decided to call tem the Ravens (I’m a HUGE Edgar Allen Poe fan) and when Ray Lewis came to town (I’m actually a Vikings fan, but they’ve been bad for so long I decided back then that I needed an AFC team to root for).
I poked my head out of the closet and became a proud Ravens gear owning fan when Ray Rice from my alma mater, Rutgers University, came to town to show the NFL what a 5′ 9″ (barely) fireplug with SPEED could do in the NFL. There’s been no looking back. I actually got to meet Ray a couple times when he was playing at Rutgers and he seemed like a pretty decent guy.
As I’ve only been able to watch them from afar here in Jersey, it was awesome when this past December when my wife got us tickets to the Ravens-​Giants game just before Christmas. What was even better was watching the Ravens kick the crap out of the Giants! Great team, great colors, great players, great stadium, great fans… in a great city. Damn it was a FUN filled day and one my kids won’t forget!
p. s. I’ll be sad to see The monster Ray Lewis retire at the end of the year… The guy plays (played) with such an intensity and he was great to watch.

Above average, tough, blue collar team in a tough city! One Superbowl convincing win. Has played in conference championship games. Is part of one of the best rivalries in the NFL today (vs the Steelers). Has hall of famers on the defensive side of the ball. Ever since coming from Cleveland, is probably third in success in the AFC behind the Patriots and Steelers. Play in a beautiful stadium, have cool jerseys, great ownership, management and football wise — play the game tough – the right way.

Oh yuck! One of the blandest football teams around. Thankfully Joe Flacco is making them slightly interesting. Remember the Super Bowl team – not many outside of Balmer do.
Add to that Ray Lewis is plain annoying with that dance of his and his involvement in that murder (OK, he got off but let’s get real, there was something up with that whole case).

really, I’m a Steelers fan, but these fans are amazing — major tailgating and i’ve never seen a stadium where pretty much every single person was wearing Raven purple — yet the fans were respectful of other fans — some good natured heckling, but no major jerks and as soon as a big play was over, the front rows sat down immediately (i was told by my ravens friends, ‘front seat rule — no excessive standing so we don’t lose our seats and eveyone can see’.
major team spirit, but still considerate people. Too bad I’ve always been a Steelers fan, otherwise I might be tempted to turn.
