I most certainly will NOT be trying this restaurant again. For 1 mediocre pizza you can receive on at least 2 large pizzas from a chain establishment with a higher caliber of customer service.

Judging from the other two reviews, this place should have a four-star rating — no? Justin F. seems to like quite a few items, and Christine B. said«the pizza here is fantastic.» Maybe it’s just me, but I don’t understand how you can only give a restaurant three stars when you use the word«fantastic» in your review. First and foremost, I’d like to say that, contrary to Christine’s claim, you canNOT«smell the urinals» upon entering Café Isis. For starters, there are no urinals — just one single toilet for the ladies, and one for the gents. Secondly, the restrooms are located far enough inside the restaurant that the supposed smell shouldn’t hit you as soon as you enter; it’s a rather large space with a somewhat high ceiling — plus, you’re likely to get a whiff of the delicious food before you get to «smell the urinals». But enough of this; let’s talk about my experience. Boyfriend and I met up with a bunch of his friends for his birthday dinner. We had the whole place to ourselves and so it may or may not have gotten a little loud(consider the fact that Café Isis is a BYO). The staff was incredible; service was friendly and efficient except in one instance: the one person who ordered the simplest thing — a cheese pizza — saw her food come out last, after having been forgotten. But who could blame them? With so many hungry mouths to feed, shit’s bound to get a bit hectic. I got me the Amina pizza, which was loaded with roasted eggplant, roasted red peppers, mushrooms, pesto sauce, mozzarella, and feta cheese. Slap me with a ham if this wasn’t one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had; it was amazing — CHUNKS of eggplant, as opposed to thin slices that you would find elsewhere, and beautiful crust. It was one of those times where you don’t wanna talk because you just want to savor your food. Boyfriend got the Mt. Vernon pizza, which came with chicken breast, pesto sauce, roasted red peppers, and mozzarella cheese. Delicious, but I preferred mine. Boyfriend confirms that the chicken was a bit dry and that it wasn’t the best pizza he’d had there. At the table there was also a Hawaiian pizza, a calzone, the aforementioned cheese pizza, and various other items; this goes to show that Café Isis doesn’t only have one good dish — just one excellent menu. I got to feed my boy some of the delicious Chocolate Pyramid Cake that came out for his birthday… and by that I mean«shove as much cake into his mouth as possible». I really loved this place, and I hope to return. There’s a TV in there, which isn’t my favorite, but there’s also some cute artwork on the walls. I should mention that Café Isis has vegan options(such as soy cheese) and wheat crust for the health-conscious. FIVESTARS. This place should get more business.

The pizza here is fantastic. I always get it to go because I don’t like sitting in a restaurant where I can smell the men’s room. A huge turn-off when walking into the front door — to smell the urinals. But my solution is take-out. :)

Also known as the Al Pachino Café, Café Isis is a pretty good stop for some middle eastern-ish eats. I’ve only had take-out from here, never eaten in. I’ve also only had a few things on their menu, but its a great change from your normal pizza and subs take-out. I like their hummus, their Indian pizza and their schwarma. Their pita bread is good and so are their pita sandwiches. They have several vegetarian options; eggplant burger, falafel, salads. Check them out if your bored with typical greasy take-out food.
