Hard to give more than three stars Came here only for breakfast which I was surprised they serve as place is definitely a tavern. Food was nothing special as quality and pricing were similar to average dinner. The service was pleasant and was happy they were open on Memorial Day. I will check out place for meal other than breakfast and update review then.

Great service. The food was ok. Good atmosphere, good energy. Alright for children or just trying to disappear for a moment.

First time in Baltimore looking for a good local spot. Food was just ok. Took forever. Got my order wrong. Nothing much to say. Very disappointed for my first Baltimore food experience, simply got calories in my body after after a long travel day.

Dropped in real early on a weekday. Was allowed to sit anywhere. Cozy bar/restaurant where you can sit in or take out. Bar are is small yet pleasant with just a few beers(4) on tap. Menu was awesome, and being it was my first time, I wanted to try everything. Settled for one of their signature hot dogs on challah bread(which supported the dog and fixins’ w/o falling apart) and some gravy fries… Which were killer. Can’t wait to try this place again where there is a dearth of eateries… Well… time to go back to work!!!

Wow. I just ducked in with my girlfriend for a quick hangover breakfast, but this place was excellent. Friendly, Quick service. Lots of seating. Street parking. Large menu. Food was excellent. We got: Chicken and waffles– I’m usually not a chicken and waffles guy, but the description sounded good, so I took a chance. So glad I did. The waffle was large and sweet, but light and fluffy. The chicken tenders were juicy and not overbreaded. The sunny side up eggs were a great addition, and went perfectly with the sausage gravy and maple syrup presented on the side. Texas chili dog– again, not really a hot dog guy. But this was excellent. The chili added flavor without being sloppy, the dog itself was large and meaty, and I believe the bun was made of challah bread. Three’s Company sandwich– delicious deli meat club sandwich. Top notch. So… Yeah. Well done!

The food was amazing and moderately priced. Anyone say this place was over-priced should not ever eat out. Please stay home cause this place is CHEAP. The service was prompt and amazing and we enjoyed ourselves. This was my first time here and I will definitely be back.

Best burger in the city? Methinks so. Get the Tavern burger [cheese, bacon] with Roseda beef [local, from Monkton]. Medium rare, and the fries. #PoliteSlobber

Voted #3 burger in Baltimore. I disagree. More like #1. Mary the manger and her whole crew make you feel like a regular even when it’s your first time here. It’s a destination tavern. Great place to chill, do your business, get yourself in check before moving on. My only gripe is that the loaded tater tots should be included by default with everything — they’re not soggy and drenched in easy cheese. They’re baked with real cheese and bacon. They have a nice char and great flavor. And my only advice to diners is if you get the«egg-splosion» burger during office hours, tuck in your tie. Worth it.

Nicest staff and owners you will ever find. We dropped in on a short trip into town because we saw a great review of their coconut cake and they were TOTALLYRIGHT. The food was amazing, there was a lot of it, and we sat for a long time in good company. Coming from Boston, this place completely changed our limited and naïve view of Baltimore. The owner is incredibly sweet and sent us on our way with kind words :) We loved it.

Dropped by at 6:30pm on a Saturday and were able to get a bar table right away, which was great. Noise level allowed for conversation. My martini was well-made and my burger was perfectly cooked, juicy, and accompanied by fresh-cut fries that were better than your typical bar fare. My partner had a lovely Cobb salad that was also unexpectedly good for a bar/grill place. Service was attentive but not overbearing. Prices were totally reasonable, and we managed to get the first round of drinks in under the happy hour pricing. Will definitely be back! Looking forward to trying out some of the other menu items.

I’ve had three or four meals here since my first fateful day where I had that mediocre salad, and everything has been really good. In particular, the hamburgers are excellent, and I love that they have tots you can substitute for fries. I have also enjoyed their Reuben. Glad I gave them some more chances! Upping it to four stars.

A friend and I decided to try this place over the weekend and we weren’t impressed. Food seemed overpriced for what it was. And nothing on the menu jumped out at me, so I went with grilled ham and cheese and onion rings. Very boring. It also took me three tries to find a beer that they actually had in stock. Ordered both Flying Dog and DuClaw before I had to settle for a Yuengling… Atmosphere was also blah. Lots of older patrons(regulars?) waiting for the band to start, and our table was covered in sticky syrup. Not fun. Doubt we’ll ever be back.

I have visited this place twice now and have enjoyed both visits. They are doing construction on the building so parking was tough but it was doable. They also have a lot which was only 5 $ that I almost had to pay but got a spot right up front. My first visit I had a Reuben which was great with a nice monumental local stout. My second visit I had the french toast which was on par with a Ritz/Four season gourmet French, it was divine. I met with the owner Lee and he was very pleasant, he stopped and chatted with us for a few and suggested some beers and food for our next visit. We will be back!

There is a female manager there whose attitude suck. She talks to her staff like crap and embarrasses them in front of patrons. I wish I could have fired her because she has the nastiest attitude ever! Today I witnessed an interaction between her and one of her staff members and almost lost my appetite! It’s sucks that there aren’t any other good jobs out here for those kind of people because I’m sure they would have quit right there! Besides her nasty attitude, ALLOFTHEFOOD is amazing!

Decided to spend this rainy Saturday morning at Tavern on the Hill in Mt. Vernon. Given the reviews and a quick once-over the online menu, I had pretty much decided that this experience was going to consist of none other than your garden-variety diner/tavern-esque type of cuisine. I was right. I chose the Steak & Eggs, complete w/a side of toast and homemade potatoes(my plate was unfortunately missing this last component, but I decided to let it slide as our waitress was new and flustered). The dish was very bland, to say the least. Absolutely nothing noteworthy. The steak was not great quality and the eggs were a little on the tough side. But, for a $ 15 steak dish, you can’t be too picky, I guess. My honey chose The Cowboy Burger, which was great! Quality beef, topped with BBQ sauce, bacon, cheddar cheese, and onion rings. It also comes with a side of fries and a pickle spear. I would definitely come back and get this meal for myself. Since we came during weekend brunch hours, we were also able to partake in their $ 4 mimosa offering. Super yum. All in all, I would give TOTH another go, but would probably stick to the basics. Burgers, fries, and maybe their other breakfast offerings(they serve brekkie all day!). Solid 3-Star for The Cowboy for now.

I’ve been here for brunch twice. The food is simple and affordable. It is always cooked the way I want and tastes great. The first time I had the french toast that comes with a delicious anglaise that is a nice alternative to syrup. The next time I had a Belgian waffle. It was light and fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside. Last but, certainly not least, they have huge mimosas for $ 4. Win!

This is your date night. This is your Sunday brunch, your happy hour. This is your quaint neighborhood goto spot to watch the Orioles. The place you bring your visiting friends and family. This is THE spot. The burgers are full and juicy and my date’s was cooked to bloody red perfection! The Bubbie’s Brisket is(dare I say?) better than my own grandmother’s recipe! The toasty warm Challah bread is the winning touch on both these godly sandwiches. Added bonus… The friendly helpful staff will make you feel right at home.
