I have long been a lover of Ceremony Coffee in Annapolis, but due to an unfortunate series of events involving an endangered species of bird, high winds and a yacht, I don’t really step foot in Annapolis all too often anymore. So when I heard this small batch roaster had set up shop in Baltimore, I had to stop in during a recent road trip although I may have had two other cups of coffee that day. This particular café is HUGE. While the shop in Annapolis can be described as rustic, this one has more of an open, modern décor. It’s so clean, I’m pretty sure you could perform surgery in here. Lots of high tables, and bar seating along the windows with abundant outlets if you need to study or telework from here. Now about the coffee. This is the real deal. So real that they only have a limited menu and serve their cortado($ 3) with soda water real. I think Ceremony’s roast is the coffee lover’s coffee. I am telling you it is the best on the East Coast. Pick up a bag of the espresso beans and just sniff them. You’ll see what I am talking about. The pourover coffee is wonderful, but I come here for what I consider their coffee cocktails(no alcohol though). I’ve had a coffee arnold palmer and the white shakerato(expresso and milk and simple syrup, shaken up). It’s not a grab and go kind of coffee shop. It takes them time to prepare your coffee, so you should have a seat and unwind. With espresso running at $ 2.50, pour over about $ 4.50, and their seasonal lattes at about $ 3-$ 4, I find the prices pretty agreeable. Baltimore, you don’t know how lucky you are to have this place!

Though I roast my own beans, I buy Ceremony when I don’t have time. The roasted beans are always fresh and quality. The space here is visually clean and spacious. It’s well designed and inviting. The staff/baristas are friendly, and you can now get some of the best brewed coffee and espresso drinks in the city here. Highly recommended.

OHMYGOODNESS… if you want some genuine coffee lover to make your coffee… you come to the right place. Everyone there know what they are talking about when it comes to coffee and tea… they roast their coffee and they even have a lab in the back where i am sure they held classes for people who are interested. The must try is the Nitro-Cold-Brew… it came out of a tap(like the beer tap) and when you taste it, it’s so smooth, frothy, and not bitter… I don’t know some of the coffee chain because of their bitterness, but here, i don’t even need to put sugar in my cold brew or my latte… it’s that yummy the price is a little«high» $ 4 for Latte, $ 5 for cold brew and hot chocolate… but you get what you pay for… This become my favorite coffee place! too bad we don’t have one in where lived…

The food here is amazing and the coffee(I recommend the pour over) is so good too. But it’s not very conducive to studying. the atmosphere is really nice and the open windows are so inviting, but the tables are really small and there aren’t many outlets either. If you’re here to enjoy a book it’s not bad, but don’t bring a bunch of textbooks trying to study.

If you like chai latte and you like it spicy, this place is it! I always love my chai latte with soy milk and my first sip was wow it’s spicy, nice tingle to the back of the tongue and it was delicious. Not overly strong in the tea flavor itself, very smooth

Very good presentation with coffee and tea, and a wide open space that is good if you need to focus. HOWEVER, there is a serious lack of outlets here, so you need to come with your laptop fully charged. The service is attentive and friendly.

I love working at this place. Good coffee, beautiful setting, and friendly staff. They have a side parking lot and good internet connection. Please open one in Canton area!

It’s been a while since Baltimore’s had a café with both ambiance and food that wows you once you step in the door. Ceremony Coffee, a coffee roaster hailing from Annapolis, brings its classy vibe to Charm City. Be amazed by the expansive interior with abundant natural light that’s great for studying/socializing, along with friendly staff who knows a lot about coffee. Located next door to Mount Vernon marketplace, Ceremony Coffee is your place to edumacate yourself about the gold-standard of coffee. Craving a pourover? Try one of their 4+ varieties. Looking to try something new? Check out their nitrobrew, kombucha, and creative array of seasonal drinks. Looking for inspiration to create your next people-pleasing drink at home? Try the hot chocolate, which comes topped with a *real* roasted marshmallow. Seriously, folks. No wonder the staff is so friendly and happy here. They get to pretend they’re camping and roast marshmallows on the regular! Their food is also pretty spectacular. In particular, I most enjoyed their toast topped with almond butter, greek yogurt, and chia seeds. While everything here is on the pricier side(seasonal lattes are $ 5), come here to #treatyoself and your friends every once in a while. You’ll be happy you did.

Ceremony is probably one of the best coffee venues in Baltimore. It’s been a while since a place has wowed, probably ever since Lamill left the Inner Harbor. The coffee here is top quality and the preparation of the drinks speaks volumes. The place itself is sleek and very spacious. There’s a back room for educational things. Plugs for charging is plentiful, and, obviously, there’s free wi-fi. There’s probably 10 – 15 spots in the back for parking, so if you’re lucky, you might be able to grab one. Prices are decent. But for the drinks, it’s worth it. The salads and sandwiches are pretty average, and are a little overpriced in my opinion. The doughnuts and treats are tasty.

We’ve stopped into Ceremony a few times, and can’t wait to spend more time working here! Great atmosphere and wonderfully productive environment for me to write in. Haven’t strayed from my almond milk latte order, but haven’t had to — it’s delicious and always prepared quickly and cheerfully. No complaints at all — happy to have another Sunday coffee option and great to welcome them to the city!

Ceremony Coffee Roaster’s Baltimore café/pro shop is a specialty coffee junkie’s wet dream… and a budget brew commodity coffee drinker’s nightmare. Pros and Cons to having coffee at Ceremony: –Time– Ceremony takes the time to brew coffee using multiple methods to extract deliciousness from unique coffees from around the world. If you’re in a rush, this place may not be for you. –Price– sourcing wonderful quality coffee ain’t cheap. If all you want a budget $ 0.99 caffeine vehicle to drown in half-and-half, Ceremony probably isn’t what you’re looking for. –Space– This shop is a gorgeous, minimal, functional space that a design geek would appreciate. There’s a ton of European-style shared long table seating on high tops which seems designed to encourage conversation with strangers-soon-to-be-friends or other coffee appreciators that you happen to sit with. If you want to be alone or feel antisocial and want to hunker down to work for hours in comfy chairs, this place probably isn’t for you. –Education– Ceremony has state of the art equipment, including automatic pour over stations and espresso machines that cost in the tens of thousands of dollars. Ceremony invested in and obviously paid a premium for pricy coffee gear all in the effort to brew primo tasting coffee for coffee lovers who don’t have the means to spend $ 20k+ on their personal home brew set up. I noticed a space for tastings and coffee classes in the rear. If you don’t care to learn, this benefit won’t matter. For those who are curious, it would be hard to imagine a more ideal place to learn about coffee. Baltimore coffee lovers are LUCKY to have a shop like this. It’s definitely geared more for people that appreciate food culture, specialty/third wave coffee culture and/or have functional taste buds. It’s also the rare shop where if you are a beginner to gourmet coffee, you can learn from some of the elite of the specialty coffee world. What a wonderful spot. Highest recommendations for coffee. Can’t wait to come back for more.

Come for the ambience, but that’s pretty much it. Friendly but super slow service, coffee’s just not good, and pricey overall. I got iced americano and a bag of their coconut honey macarons from the counter. I understand that they opened not too long ago, so they’re still trying to expand their food/pastry menu, so I won’t say much about the honey macarons. I suggest that maybe wait until they get the actual pastries and avoid getting any of those sweets displayed on the counter. However, I want to make a big deal out of my iced americano being super watery. I was definitely not happy about that. Americano itself was already very light in general, so too much ice def didn’t help. I hear that their latte’s not bad though… I mean how hard is it to mess up a latte, right???

Ceremony coffee roaster is paving the way for specialty coffee drinkers who appreciate the delicate layers of coffee beyond the popular image builder of Starbucks’ Frappucino and other sugary drinks loaded with mountain of whipped cream. Ceremony knows their coffee. It’s shows in the way they serve coffee and tea with glass carafe. You do not just drink coffee and show off the green mermaid mug. Drinking coffee becomes an experience. Take your time and enjoy your properly brewed coffee. Ceremony coffee barista was the winner of SCAA Barista Guild, unfortunately the guy left to establish his own roaster somewhere in Colorado. Have no fear, they also have a trainer and former barista who was one of the finalists in the recent Barista Guild. Their new facility in Baltimore comes with gated private parking, airy minimalist décor, and my favorite coffee tasting/cupping training room. Every Wednesdays, they offer complimentary coffee workshop to educate the public on coffee from seed to cup. It is almost like a wine tasting class. Check out their classes on the web site. I guess the workshop I attended has changed me and intrigued my curiosity of specialty coffee.

I came here the other day to study and was pretty impressed with Ceremony. It’s very bright and spacious. There’s a good amount of small tables and two large high top tables. Unfortunately there are only hard, metal chairs — not very conducive for studying/reading for several hours. I ordered an iced Americano and the smoked salmon toast. The coffee was good, but I loooooved the toast. It was 2 slices topped with greek yogurt, smoked salmon, red onions and everything seeds. Super tasty! I wasn’t sure that the greek yogurt and the smoked salmon would go together, but now I’m a believer! It was the perfect little study snack. The coffee and toast cost me around $ 14, which is a little pricy, so in the future I’ll probably eat before I come and just grab a coffee.

Excellent customer service. The place is very nice and spacious with much natural light. I’d go there for reading, studying, and to catch up with friends. There are a bunch of bar stools and a few regular chairs. There are not many power outlets; bring your computer/ipad/phone fully charged. I had a tasty white tea. Price is $$, but still worth it as you are paying for the experience. This place is highly recommended.

Was craving a latte and a new location to try out, stumbled upon this place and fell in love. The restaurant is very open, with the center being the small kitchen and coffee bar. Resembles a kitchen display in IKEA! Not to mention that there is a parking lot in front of the shop, in the heart of downtown where would one ever find something else of its kind. I ordered a basic latte and the smoked salmon toast. The sandwich was excellent! All toast are open faced simple treats. Who would ever think to pair Greek yogurt, raw red onion and piece of salmon together with a sprinkle of everything goodness. Perfect little something to snack on while I people watched and read my book. This place is a great place to study, read or meet up with friends to catch up. There is music in the background and some plugs scattered in the corners for the electronic charge up. This place is also great to enjoy solo. I would suggest sitting by the big window in the front and doing a little people watching. Interesting location, but one that will help this area of the city grow!

Spacious and open interior with big glass windows that flood the room with natural light. Whether you need a place to get some work done or are catching up with a friend or two, there is an abundance of tables and chairs including high top tables. Ceremony tends to get pretty crowded on Sundays, but on weekdays it is pretty easy to snag a table. There are limited outlets as others have mentioned but I believe there are a total of 3(one by the front facing window and two at each corner of the back). Ceremony has a wide selection of coffee including nitro, so if you are a coffee connoisseur definitely check it out! They also serve food(toast, salad, granola, etc). I’ve tried the almond test, which is a delicious, healthy and filling snack. Also, the Mount Vernon Marketplace, which just recently opened is actually in the same building so if you are looking for more food options you don’t have to go far. Definitely a great addition to Mount Vernon!

We were stumbling around in B’more looking for food and coffee. Luckily, we found this place. Such a beautiful space, plenty of white spaces, plenty of room to study or people watch. Coffee was decent. You had a cappuccino and I had an iced coffee. Still a bit bitter, I prefer milder, but it got the job done. You had the toast with salmon and greek yogurt. Forgot to add a poached egg, that would’ve made it perfect. I had the soup of the day, ginger carrot. Light and energetic. We ate our late breakfast in peace, half full and not feeling too drowsy after. I would consider coming back here again if I was in town.

Welcome to Baltimore Ceremony Coffee! Stunning buildout, friendly and knowledge baristas, clean/crisp ambiance and a menu to sate your non– caffeinated desires. Third wave coffee lovingly served in beautiful space — who could ask for more? After months of anticipation I was finally able to order an espresso at the Mt. Vernon location. The barista was dialed in and the resulting shots were fantastic: syrupy, pleasantly bitter with a sweet dark berry finish, lingering floral notes and a hint of spice. Thanks to everyone at Ceremony for a wonderful experience. Unquestionably the first of many…
