The good old CVP. I live a few blocks away, so I find myself here pretty often. The food is good, although it does take quite a while to come out of the kitchen sometimes, and the waitstaff is awesome. The energy of the bar is pretty chill, so its a nice place to grab a bite and a brew on my random nights off and then stumble back home. It can get a little crowded sometimes as it is one of the more popular destinations in Charles Village, so if you want to sit down for dinner on a weekend, get there early as their seating is limited. Altogether a great place. Honestly, I’ll probably be there again tomorrow because its just so damn convenient.

This was a very unfortunate experience for us but considering its the second one with the exact same results, I feel very confident leaving this one star review. Came in tonight when the pub wasn’t overly full but got generally rude service and our two sandwiches took an hour 15 minutes to come out. At one point, the server came up and asked if we already order food(we did from her) and what the order actually was. I would not recommend this place in the least bit.

I’ve been to both the cvp in Charles village and the one in Towson. The one in Towson is much better than this one in almost every facet. Not saying that this one is bad, but it’s a little smaller and the service and food weren’t as good as Towson either. If I were to go again, I would just grab drinks as the table service wasn’t great.

As a resident of Charles Village this place is a staple in my life. Always good food, drink prices are solid and the bar tenders are all cool dudes. Definitely a place to stop if you’re in the area!

Waitress was great but she kept eating her boogers when she thought no one was looking. It was weird. She was great though, and the food was exceptional for the atmosphere. The waitress also definitely didn’t put her boogies anywhere but her mouth, so you don’t have to worry about them in your food/drink.

The only things I have had there are the Cobb salad and the CVPini. The Cobb salad is really good and the CVPini is not very good. The service is pretty good. But the lunch prices are a little expensive.

This place is a go-to if you are in the neighborhood. Come here if you want to watch sports on tv in a busy, but welcoming atmosphere or if you want to grab a quick bite to eat with friends. The atmosphere can at times be a little loud as many college students and locals come to hang out, but I have never had a bad experience. The food on the menu can be described as typical bar food — sandwiches, burgers, wings, but they are quite tasty! The potato skins are a favorite of mine! There are a variety of them — Chili/Nacho/Jalapeño, Bacon/Cheddar and Broccoli/Cheddar. All of them are so so good. You have to try them all haha! There is plenty of room to sit whether at the bar, in a booth or at a table outside. Plenty of street parking too. Another added bonus is you can come in and pick up a quick 6-pack or other alcohol to go if you are in a bind and don’t want to overspend your budget at Eddie’s Liquors, for example. This place is a staple if you live in Charles Village.

I keep coming back because of its atmosphere: sometimes cheery and loud but not noisy, sometimes quiet but not empty. I’ve only had the bar food which was pretty good, service was always good, and it’s at a great location in the middle of Charles Village with plenty of on-street parking to boot.

Not quite Cheers but still one of those places where you feel most of these people know each others’ names. Located on a prime strip in the middle of John Hopkin’s, this pub appears to be a no frills kind of place to sit and watch the game or chat with a few people while enjoying an adult beverage. The interior is nothing to look, a simple bar with a few TV screens sprinkled without. Staff is welcoming and booze pours are decent. Bar food is available but nothing special as I only had a couple of fries. Drop in for a cocktail or beer to unwind after a night on the town or on a lazy afternoon.

This place is utterly cool. Here you are at the door step of one of the best and most expensive schools in America and you have a gritty cool sports pub that could be in any neighborhood in the city. A lil divy but not really divy at all. Lots of sport stuff on the walls including Os, Ravens, and Hopkins LAX. They have an old style pull the handle cigarette machine. The staff is super friendly. We entered with our 8 year old and ask with concern if he could be there. A drippy, happy yes. Extremely good service the night we went. Wife had fish and chips which were ok, slaw was great. I had a rib dinner that was delish but really pub ribs and not a BBQ shop style. The wings were fab. Seriously. Ask them to mix BBQ sauce and their hot sauce and you get a GREAT sauce. Good beer selection. Had a Monument City Rye 51IPA which is becoming a choice of mine. Great pub… good atmosphere… nice people… diverse crowd.

I’ve been here a couple of times with my friend after work for happy hour. They have 2 for 1 wine! That’s dangerously awesome. I’ve had their southwest egg rolls and clam strips. They were both what you’d expect; the clam strips come with cocktail sauce, but I prefer tartar sauce and extra lemon and they had no problem obliging. The service was good even though we were outside. Someone checked on us so that was nice.

It is a nice pub to hang out in Charles Village. It is cozy, usually crowded and food is very good. I liked most the philly cheese steak! Chardonay is really good too!

I haven’t had food here yet so this review is for drink prices, service, and atmosphere mostly. Although I’ll add that the food at the tables near us looked good! The fire alarm in my building went off last night signaling that it was probably time to go out and grab a beer. Charles Village doesn’t have a ton of options for this so I finally decided to go into CVP. The beer prices were great(two craft beers for under $ 10 is about as good as it gets!) and the service was friendly enough. The atmosphere is exactly what you expect: a college bar. Which was perfect for our purposes anyway. If you’re craving a cheap drink and some bar food this seems like a good bet.

A nice local bar with some regional craft beers, bottled beers and typical bar food. The waiters and waitresses are nice and willing to help. They recently have a new beer list and the options are all very good. Must-haves include their burgers, BBQ ribs and wings. Plenty of TVs to watch sports games.

The waitresses ignored us when we walked in, were rude when we sat down. We came at 6 and on the table they were advertising happy hour prices until 6:30. It was exactly 6:15 when the waitress finally came to take our order. We asked for the HH wings and she said that the HH was only until 6:30 «bar time», which was 6:15. I told her I was 6:15 and she gave me an attitude. Terrible. Never going back.

Happy hour has changed! No more half-price munchies at happy hour or Monday nights. Everything on the menu has increased by $ 2. Happy hour wings used to be 12 for $ 4.50, now are 10 for $ 7. That’s an 87 $ markup per wing. Seriously, 70 cents per wing is not a deal. You can get that anywhere. And the rest of the prices are now priced where you’d expect something better than the average or worse bar food. Still a great neighborhood bar with great bartenders, but it’s now just a random-time place for me and no longer a happy hour destination.

We love bar food. My husband and I adore a dark, uncomplicated place with a good beer selection and a tasty bar food menu. That is exactly what we found here. It is 1pm on a Tuesday and the place is kind of deserted. The walls are covered in sports photos. The burgers are freaking awesome. What more could you want from a pub?

Went for happy on a Wednesday. They have $ 5 crushes all day everyday if you like those that’s a pretty good deal. There was a menu and apps seemed to be about $ 8 – 10 for most items beside chips and salsa which were $ 5. I didn’t see another menu for happy hour app prices so I was unaware of any food specials that I see in other reviews so overall the apps are more expensive than other barfood bars in Towson. There was a flyer for good specials like $ 2 domestics during Orioles games… it also included some pitcher and wing specials as well.

(5÷26÷2014) Still mostly the same old CVP. A long, long time ago, I spent a lot(A LOT) of time here as a college undergrad. While there’s been a little bit of updating, the place remains as I remember it. It a local bar, flooded with undergrads at happy hour and late night, squatted by graduated students on weekend afternoons, frequented by neighborhood denizens pretty much any hour of any day. Once spring break, Christmas and summer hit, population drops by about 80%. Pretty much sports is what they’ve got on the TVs and most people there will be watching, especially the O’s. They’ve got a heavy hand(and large glasses) for the rail mixed drinks, decent pub grub, and all at reasonable prices. Def not a destination place, but stop by if you’re in the ‘hood.

I went back for the first time in 15 years and the place was completely unchanged. This is a good thing. Cheap drinks, nice staff, good bar food.
