I attended on a Saturday night. The DJ was amazing. The bartender was FANTASTIC and friendly. Staff in general was really great. The atmosphere, music, décor, and drinks all earn 5 stars! I definitely need to come here again soon!

I went to Club Orpheus for the first time last week. I like that it is easily accessible, with plenty of street parking in the immediate area. Considering I am brand new to Baltimore, it was pretty easy to locate. The sound system was good; a talented DJ could make really good use of it. Whether you are upstairs or downstairs, the sound quality consistent throughout the club. The club is a little small, but it is spread out over two levels. The bottom level boasts a decently sized dance floor and raised stage for DJ set-up. To the side of the stage, there was a sitting area where you could hang out with friends or take a break from dancing. They have a full bar just behind the dance floor, making it(too) easy to grab fresh drinks throughout the night. Drinks were reasonably priced and about average in taste. The glasses were chilled, which I liked. The bar is cash-only, so leave your credit cards at home; but there is an ATM right next to the bar if you’re in a bind. The bar tender kept dropping my change on the counter in puddles though, making me peel wet bills off the counter. But, she was the only one working and pretty busy– I can’t nitpick her for that. The upper level has a few tables and chairs, with a sturdy rail overlooking the stage and dance floor. There’s another counter up here that looks like it could potentially be a second bar on busy nights– but in this case, it was set up for a vendor. There’s two stair cases going upstairs, so there’s not too much traffic blocking the way. Restrooms are spacious and pretty clean from what I could tell. I hear this place is pretty friendly to alternative fashions, so I’d definitely come back for another night. I happened to come on a themed night when there were a lot of people in costume, and everyone seemed friendly and welcoming. I liked the atmosphere.

I’m reviewing this as a venue that my band played in. Not a bad place. The stage is a little dark, and a bit small(though playing on the floor in front of it is no problem). The sound system and sound man were decent, and the staff were friendly. The police came and said we were being too loud, so keep it in mind that the neighbors might not be too friendly. Overall, a decent experience.

I live down the street from this place and always have a good time when I go. It is a goth club but they don’t care what you show up wearing. Everyone at the bar is really nice and easy to strike a conversation with. Good time

I used to play shows at this place in 2000, 2001 fairly often. Since then, I’ve gone more times than I really care to remember. Their old bartender tried to refuse serving me because of my jacket multiple times. I also watched him blatantly ignore a friend trying to get drinks years later. Before anyone else says anything about«knowing how to get a bartender’s attention» or «the bar being too busy» just know that there was no one else at the bar but that friend and me. And we were both there for our mutual friend was guest djing… And our mutual friend, who came from out of state, was Djing for next to no one because this Club just does not know how to promote. Or just doesn’t care. Or has a well-known stigma attached to their name. Management has changed hands more times that you can count… The elderly owners refuse to adapt modern transaction techniques… you know, like credit cards/bank cards. The current management are driving this club further and further into nothing but LARP territory. The few times I’ve recently been here I’ve counted 12 people… all times combined. Since my on-going absence, i have heard countless tales of the primary DJ admitting he knows nothing about Industrial music as well of tales of him putting on a preprepared, amateurly beat-matched, compilation of stagnant and /or cliché goth rock and leaving the booth to hit on women.

I’ve been going to this goth club on and off for nearly ten years. They’re under new management, and these two guys are doing a lot to make sure people want to come. They play an awesome mix of music. You get everything from the Cure to Obscure industrial stuff. It’s a good mix. The cover is reasonable, as are the drinks. The staff here is also very friendly. It’s definitely a welcoming atmosphere. They don’t accept credit cards, but there is an ATM in the building. There is street parking.

How am I the only one to review this place? This club has been here forever and day, and it’s one of the few 18+ clubs in the area, so my sister can go with me. They have different themes on different days, but the main shtick is that this place is known as a goth club. But don’t let that fool you. Just go and have a good time, despite how you look. The only downside is no beer on tap, but not a biggie. They have Natty Boh in a can, hence why I can forgive the no tap beers. There is plenty of street parking, another added bonus!
