If you like gimmicky chain bars with overpriced beers, this will become your regular haunt! However, if you have discerning taste in music, appreciate originality, and enjoy good beer and friendly bartenders, take your business elsewhere.

Having visited the one in Philly, I had high expectations in store which were definitely fulfilled. The musicians were great as was the service. There were a bunch of bachelorette parties there the Friday night I went and the musicians made it a fun and entertaining time for them and all other guests

Nice bar with lots of seating. Also good deals on beers up until 11:00. They also have live bands and people will get up and dance. Every time I come here I always have a great time!

Dueling Pianos with very talented musicians. I was here when there was hardly a crowd and had a great time. I can only imagine what this place is like when it’s packed. Good music. Drink prices reasonable for being in a city. Staff pretty friendly.

Very fun bar that I would come back to again. Probably the main draw was the dueling pianos. Their music was great and definitely added to the experience. As for drinks, we split a bucket of some mixed drink. I honestly have no clue what it was(this was far from our first stop of the night). We also paid for jello shots in the form of shot tubes! Think plastic syringes that pump out the jello. Howl at the Moon had a lot of seating and plenty of space to hang out. We successfully grabbed our own spot separately from the late night crowd. Definitely enabled us to have a great time.

I won a happy hour here and invited some friends to celebrate my birthday. It was my first time at Howl at the Moon and I loved it! The dueling piano bar was incredible and all of the performers were so talented. You could request any song you wanted — the music ranged from 90s throwbacks to current hits to classic rock. And there was even a mini dance party that started up. It’s pretty easy to win a happy hour so if you enter your email address on their website, chances are you will win one. The specials that came with the happy hour were pretty awesome: No cover First 2 drinks FREE for YOU First 2 drinks $ 2 for guests $ 3 Domestics $ 4 Skyy and Flavors/Cruzan and Flavors/Bombay/Jose Cuervo/Jim Beam Those are the deals for the 9 pm to midnight happy hour. There’s also an earlier option from 5 pm to 8 pm with the following deals: First 2 drinks FREE for YOU First 2 drinks $ 1 for guests ½ price drinks(restrictions apply) $ 12 Bones $ 20 Buckets of Booze *Complimentary appetizer buffet while supplies last I’ve heard that at other places, the drinks they give you at these happy hours tend to be watered down and not very good but I enjoyed all my drinks and so did my friends. I got the hurricane bucket as well and let me tell you — it’s HUGE. Definitely not a one person job. The service was great both at the bar and the wait staff. One thing I was a little concerned about was that the happy hour does not guarantee tables. You can reserve tables but that costs $ 100 per table which seats 4. None of my friends had trouble getting seats but if it is a very crowded night that could be an issue. Overall, I had a wonderful time celebrating my birthday here! Howl at the Moon has definitely become one of my favorite places on powerplant!

First and probably last time that I’ll visit Howl at the Moon; not because it was horrible but because it just wasn’t that great either. We came late, left early, and spent a bunch of money on booze. The only thing I can say is that the drinks were very strong, which was an added bonus since we had a cheap happy hour menu.

This bar is large and there is plenty of space for everyone to walk around or even dance if youre drunk enough. It does get pretty crowded late night. Because of the variety of music they play, there is a mixed crowd. The dueling pianists are always EXTREMELY talented(I get jealous of them having so much fun at work and contemplate quitting my day job to focus on learning the piano). They play requests and a huge variety of music. They are also amazing hosts and entertainers. Its a fun atmosphere and different than hearing the TOP40 at every other bar. Howl at the Moon dueling piano bar is just classier. I used to think Powerplant was touristy or trashy, but its become quite a fun venue overall, so there are many other bars within it that you can enjoy before or afterwards. An entertaining evening and worth the visit, always!

Won a happy hour at this place. Costumer service is an A+. I still remember April, she was my server for the night. I celebrated my birthday here, I left some birthday cards behind and one of the workers ran and caught up with me once I made it outside to give me the cards. My only Complaint is the liquor in my opinion is watered down. My tolerance is very low and I had many drinks and my buzz was like I had two or three drinks. I even got the bucket and that didnt make a difference. So if you want a good cocktail I dont recommend this place. The pianist is amazing played song like«baby got back» to «push it» and sang all the lyrics. The will play any song you choose if they dont know it they will learn it. Great for group.

For any of the Powerplant places, it’s only worth going if you have free cover. It can be a good time, but just save money for drinks and an über. Around 10pm on a Friday, two women were playing at the pianos. They were AMAZING. They were lovely singers, singing current songs but also some throwbacks like«A Thousand Miles». It’s so fun to singalong with them. The ladies would just go back and forth, alternating singing between them. But then when they take a break and the two dudes sing, everything goes downhill. They’re just not as talented vocally and I just personally don’t like their song choices. Fun place to chill and get some drinks before you go somewhere else to dance.

Met people here for a birthday. The birthday girl won a «happy hour» so that’s where we went. Funny moments, bad music. The one in Indianapolis is way better.

Went here while in Baltimore and loved the dueling pianos. This is a place that you are guaranteed to be entertained and it is neat to see your bartender sing a song. Drink specials are a little too sweet for my liking though so I took away a star.

If you ever find yourself downtown at the Power Plant, check out Howl At The Moon. They have talented musicians there who play a wide arrange of music at your request. They really encourage audience participation, so you know you’re going to have a good time.

This is the best spot in the Power plant and I’ve been there many times. HATM is a dueling piano bar. I recommend getting there early to guarantee a table or even reserve one cause the happy hour can fill up fast. The pianist are AMAZING. They can play everything from Super Mario theme song to Taylor Swift to Eminem to Metalica. Since we came for a happy hour we each received two drink tickets for $ 2.00 drinks and the host of the party received 2 free drink tickets. They also have drink specials all night after you’ve spent your tickets. We ordered the sex on the moon bucket to share with the four of us, this one is one of my favorite! After some of our bucket of liquid courage we got my roommate up on stage to sing with the band. I think that was the best stage fee my friend has ever paid. She rocked! Toward the end of the happy hour the place was packed but our server was still attentive and fast. You don’t get that kind of great service at many bars in the Baltimore. I highly recommend HATM if you are in the downtown Baltimore/Harbor area or even if you’re not and you are out of state I still recommend making the drive. You will not be disappointed. I know I will definitely be back.

This is my first time at a dueling Piano bar! My wife and I were invited to go for a double birthday party. One of her coworkers and her boyfriend had birthdays a month apart and he won a party here at Howl at the Moon! The previous comments about weak drinks are way off! We are here on a Saturday night, the first taste in my mouth is the whiskey, could barely taste the coke! Because we have a group, our first 2 drinks were $ 1 and the rest of the drinks were half price till 8 p.m. They used Kentucky Whiskey and not JD. Had a blast with our group! Would love to. come back! The pianist knew everything! The one even mentioned that his wife is from our area of Pennsylvania. We had a really good server, Sia showed up just at the right time every time, great job Sia!

I’d never been to a dueling piano bar before heading out to Howl At the Moon with some friends, but it was a fantastic experience. Their drinks were fabulous, the music was great, and the crowd fun. I can’t wait to head back for another awesome night. There’s nothing better than live music and there is no shortage of it here! The band members are all so talented and even rotate from piano to drums to guitar. The band will play everything and anything that is requested… from Taylor Swift to Slipknot to Elton John. HATM is a great place to celebrate a birthday, bachelor/bachelorette party, or any other event you can think of. I highly recommend it!

Good old fashioned dueling piano bar. Great for celebrations, lots of bachelor and bachelorette parties. Crazy jello shots in a large hospital looking injection«shot» like container. The singers could impressively perform(albeit not necessarily on point) most of the latest hits and greatest oldies. Definitely a good time!

Nothing beats a live band that can tango with the best of them. If you’re looking just to jam with oldies but goodies, a little bit of rock, and«a little bit of Monica in your life»… howl @ the moon does it! Disclaimer: Come for the music, not for the drinks. The bartenders are skimpy at best. We paid for top shelf vodka at the door and we were told that Skyy was top shelf. Not sure if the bartenders know what top shelf means, but if I’m asking for Grey Goose or Belvedere, and those liquors are on the top shelf above Skyy, then give me what I paid for at the door and pour the Grey Goose. Or let me know that you’re not offering real top shelf liquor with the $ 30VIP cover, and I will gladly pay $ 12 per glass of Grey Goose and Red Bull. My suggestion, go to PBR first or pre-game. Whapaahhh *sounds like a cracked whip to me! ;-)

When I told a friend I went to the dueling piano bar in the power plant area of Baltimore, they looked at me oddly and said«aren’t you a little old to hang out with the frat kids?» I can understand the sentiment; most of the power plant bars and clubs on a summer Saturday night seemed to be filled with early 20’s patrons seeking a liquid dinner with a variety of dances. But howl at the moon was unique. The band running the dueling pianos was absolutely amazing! Two guys would be on the keys and another two would be on drums, guitar, or sax, then they would all switch. The live guitar solo in the middle of free bird, from the guy who just got done playing mice and men on piano: amazing. The ages: complete diversity; I’m convinced anyone would be welcome. There were the normal frat kids and 21-runners, but also bachelor and bachelorette parties, pockets of 30-something’s chilling or dancing, and even a large party celebrating a man’s 60th birthday. So as I told my friend: I still have another 30 years to hit up at least one spot in the power plant area…

Where do I start with this place, both the good and the bad. We went here for a multi-birthday celebration using a groupon and the night was a success, but I can say this place isn’t for everyone. First, it is loud and it is music-based. A piano/performance-bar, the music is non-stop and most people come here to sing, shout, and dance like idiots. Their performers are pretty good, even if not exactly professional quality, and overall I think this was the best part. The main downside was when they began to redo certain songs, either by request or because they were easy-to-do fillers when needed. We were there for 5 hours, so if you only go for a couple you might avoid that. Second, the drinks are expensive and watered down. This isn’t to say you can’t get a decent buzz here, but it all depends on your tolerance and your pocket book. We «saved» some money because our groupon provided us with drink tickets and a set of gift cards, but regular attendees won’t get these. The buckets and«bone drinks» are probably the most watered down yet the tastiest; regular mixed drinks are about on par(even if a bit light) and of course beer is beer. Third, this is basically a standing room only place that can get very crowded. The only seats are all reserved and cost a pretty penny. Again, we were smart with our groupon and arrangements and thus had some decent seats and could relax. Unfortunately, there are many drunks who constantly were asking to dump their coats, purses, drinks, etc. on our tables and chairs because they had nowhere to do it. If you go, either recognize you’ll be standing there all night with drink and coat in hand… or reserve a table in advance. Now, there’s been some comments on staff but we had absolutely no problems with them. Our server was attentive and not once did we run into anyone rude. The security was around but the only time I saw them say anything near us it was to tell some random drunk lady to get down off a chair. Of course, said drunk lady had been a problem all night and(as an ex-bouncer myself) I would have kicked her out long ago. Even when one of our own party went out to smoke but they wouldn’t let her in because she was a bit too inebriated, they were respectful and we had no problems understanding and abiding. For those wondering about clientele, the report here is true: White People. Not to say there wasn’t some diversity in here, but it was predominantly 30’s-50’s Caucasians acting fools to various classic rock, pop, and country songs. So, take that as you will on what you’re looking for on a good night out. I’d say this place was fun and might make for a good visit for some event in the future. However, the overpriced, watered-down drinks, lack of comfortable standing room, and nothing spectacular make it so I doubt we’d visit on a regular basis. If you’re around and it sounds fun, feel free to try it; otherwise, you don’t necessarily miss much if it’s not your cup of tea.
