This review is long overdue. I came here with my husband and then 8 month old for dinner during Mother’s Day weekend. The food was fabulous, the atmosphere took you back in time and the service was exceptional. This is a real family Italian restaurant-very few of those left. I ordered the chicken Alfredo and my husband, the chicken parm. Both were great and presented well. The owner, Mary Ann is one of the nicest people I have met. She even babysat my son while I ate. When I was leaving, she handed me a dozen red roses, was a great first mother’s day.

This restaurant is one of the best Italian restaurants i have ever been to. It is romantic and intimate and they have a piano player setting the mood. It is a family run restaurant and they are warm and welcoming. The food is consistently amazing! Every time we go to Baltimore we go there for dinner and everyone we have ever taken has loved it! The atmosphere and food makes you feel as if you are actually in Italy. I had the crab stuffed portobello mushroom appetizer and the veal Oso Bucco. They absolutely delicious. The veal was tender and flavored to perfection. My friend had the clams casino and sea bass. The seafood was fresh and it melted in your mouth. I can’t wait to go back to Baltimore so that I can eat there again. If you are in Baltimore this restaurant is the place to go.

I wonder if in 100 years places like this will still be around. Will the nostalgia fade or will a new generation carry on this dying concept of «little italy». The walls pressed with photos of the owners with celebs, boxers, the donald(hillary is there too) lol. Baltimore does a good job of keeping a respectable row of restaurants, and da mimmo, claiming to have the best chef in the goddamn state, is very particular about steaks being medium, «1.5in» slices of veal as big as your head and a whole lotta lobster. The menu is full of greatest hits so bring your glasses or contacts or whatever because you’re gonna be reading that menu for a few minutes. And they alwaus give you a lot of time and space here. The service here is purposely elongated, giving the feeling of a long, meaningful family dinner. Appetizers are being passed around ohhh. Lobster ravioli, 2 please. Lobster tail with cocktail sauce, with a tiny fish swimming in the bowl. Lol. Garlic bread, holy shnap, that was good, and gone really quick. I had the shrimp scampi. Simple creamy delicious. Oh man. Italian food is so heavy. Food baby is growing. You definitely feel pregnant leaving this place. This is the epitome of good ass italian cooking. Rich flavorful and served up in this dining room that feels like the 18th century euro/italian pasterual exhibit. Oil painting of the coast of capri, bored looking women in windowsills and a really oversized grape in a golden chalice. The service was friendly and knowledge. The kids name is mimmo, so you know its totally a fam business. I feel like that kid is so ready to peace from the restaurant biz. He was saying how he had law school finals this week lol haha. Hes definitely born into this shit. A really rich meal, highly recommended for families and old fogies.

Really Good Italian food a little on the price side but the cute little ambiance makes you feel cozy.

This is the highest quality restaurant in Baltimore. I’ve eaten at Da Mimmo several tines and will continue to dine there. I’ve brought fiends and family and everyone has loved their experience. The veal is heavenly; the best I’ve ever had, and the best you’ll ever have. But everything else I’ve had is excellent also. The staff is very friendly and professional. I’ve always been greeted with a smile. I never feel rushed or that I am an imposition. Plus, they have a free parking lot, which is very pleasant because finding parking in Little Italy can be difficult. If you want a memorable dining experience go to Da Mimmo, you’ll be glad you did.

Went here after the Army Navy game and was fairly impressed. The food was pretty good and the service was attentive. Though I do have some concerns over the price to experience ratio, but it was a once in a lifetime, bucket list trip with my old man. One thing I could definitely appreciate is that it is a family run place and one of the sons was our waiter and named after his grandfather who started the place.

I visited twice on a recent trip. Based on the first visit alone, this would have been a five-star find. The food was wonderful and the service was excellent. The second day, the service lacked the extra attention to detail of the first day, but was still more than sufficient. The food is very, very good old-school Italian. However, the second trip, I made the mistake of ordering a bloody mary. It was the worst, premade mix, blandest bloody mary ever. I had about 3 sips from it. The server never asked if it was ok even when I ordered something else to drink. I let him know that it was not good. He said he was sorry but he could not take it off the bill because he «didn’t have a card for the register» to give credit. That seemed odd, but didn’t bother me — until I got the bill. A BAD drink with premade mix was $ 12!!! The same price as my entrée!!! I will try another restaurant the next time I’m in Little Italy, as good as their food was. That drink was unacceptable, the price was shocking, and the server’s inability or unwillingness to do anything about it when I hadn’t had more than three sips out of it was absolutely disgraceful for a restaurant of this caliber.

Great service. Great food and wine. Their driver even gave us a ride home! And the music was perfect for our date night.

Spectacular food, attentive service, and old-world authenticity. I’ve dined here around fifty times(not exaggerating) over the last few decades, and the food cannot be beat. I agree with another reviewer writing that they’ve only tried the veal chop. True… I ate NOTHING but the veal chop for twenty years straight until about two years ago. Only then did I branch off upon the advice of Masood(head chef). Glad I tried other things, but I miss the veal chop. It is shocking… massive…superb. A few things to know before you go. First, no pizza here, so don’t bother asking. This is NOT Sbarro at the mall. Second, leave the kids at home. Third, dress nicely. Finally, bring lots of money. You get what you pay for in life, so consider Da Mimmo to be one of those wonderful treats reserved for special celebrations. Dinner promises to be leisurely and delicious with great personalities from the staff. Don’t really expect fake-friendly smiles from your servers… not happening here. Instead, anticipate old-world professionalism. Sit at the bar, drink until you are loopy, enjoy live music, and prepare to be utterly stuffed.

Decent Food. Over priced. Terrible Service. 45 min wait on the food. If you are of African descent be prepared to be asked if you have enough money to pay for your bill.(This is what happened to my group of 4 professionals after ordering and before receiving the meal.) Loved being in the Little Italy community but hated the experience because of Da Mimmo’s. :-(

For the quality of service and food that we got, the price wasn’t worth it. In fairness, the maitre d was the only one who gave us excellent service. We have been attended to immediately and was led graciously to the 2nd parking lot when the first one was already full. He was very friendly and got us to our reserved table. And that was it. We were not offered any bread until we requested. No butter until we asked for it which took the waiter over 10 min to bring so by the time we got our butter, the bread were gone. I ordered medium veal steak, I got medium rare. I had calamari for appetizer– the breading was moist(I suspect it had been sitting in their food warmer for some time). The taste was nothing special; something you can get at home or some cheaper place. My friends and I chose not to get any dessert because we just wanted to get out of there. Am I going back? Only if somebody invites me for some occasion. But I’m not gonna be excited about it.

This place had delicious food and great service. We came here for restaurant week and the food fwas superb so I can only imagine how the rest of the food on the normal menu tastes. We had the veal chop which was their speciality and it was delicious! I would highly recommend going hhere

I HIGHLY Recommend and will return! AMAZINGAMAZINGAMAZING!!! This is one place where the price matches the quality and quantity! I was amazed at how good and fresh every person in my parties dishes were. The food was just exquisite and so flavorful. I had Sea Bass on a bed of pasta… The Pasta was cooked to perfection and the fish… WOW! I have never had a fish that good. I even enjoyed capers. We had the meatballs as an appetizer and if an Italian Restaurant is measured by their meatballs this place would win a prize. My family let me take the leftovers and I enjoyed them for two days… so as for value every person had a meal and then the food served me for three more meals! I think the price point was right on and the food was amazing.

O. k the wife and I were out and about again just looking for a spot to dine and stumbled upon Da Minno’s. Just after 3p. m there was no one in the restaurant so we had the choice to either the bar or the restaurant area. We choose the restaurant. The atmospher was inviting and the host took really good care of us, still letting us have the lunch menu selections available to us since they stopped serving lunch past 3p.m. Da Mimmo’s has a great selection of their own house wines, and the Cabernet is one that I would surely suggest. It went great with their LARGE butterflied T-Bone veal chop. Recommended medium charbroiled with garlic, rosemary, and sage. Just typing this makes me want to order another one. I should of took a picture! The Ceasar salad was also tasty if only there was a little more of it. It’s literally just a really good taste, not so much something to be considered a meal in and of itself. The shrimp scampi was also a hit with its garlic, butter, white wine sauce combination. After you finish the meal make sure you have some of their warm, soft bread to sop up the remaining sauce. You’d be missing out if you forget!

I went late night before they closed and sat in the bar and ate as fast as possible. There were clearly some couples that were sugar daddy/young gold digger that were trying to have an intimate low key night and i had to sit by them! Awkward! It was really dark, maybe that’s a common thing there. There was an old man playing piano which was nice, but incredibly loud. I think if I was prepared for these things it would have been better. Food was just ok. Waitress/bar tender treated me like lower class and like I shouldn’t be there, but the owner was very nice and welcoming. Have to give 4 stars and probably will try some place different next time.

Save your calories and most definitely your cash. Olive Garden’s all you can eat pasta pass costs the price of two entrees. EVERYTHING is al a carte. The prices were insane for entrees without at least a vegetable let alone a salad or soup. The salads were $ 12. It was definitely the best part of the meal and earned the star. I overheard an adjacent table order a dish traditionally served with pasta. Even with that dish, there was no side of pasta. The bread was sacrilegious for a place in Little Italy. It was essentially the par-baked dinner rolls from the grocery store. My daughter with fresh braces appreciated it’s softness and lack of texture. We ordered garlic bread, a 30 year old recipe, it was on the same limp uncooked bread. They sell it by the slice The tempura zucchini was ok. The accompanying sauce was without a doubt ketchup and mayonnaise. We still haven’t identified the mystery ingredients in the lasagna. The pasta was beyond al dente, it was raw. We’ve been all around the world. We’ve eaten Italian food in Italy and even far away places like Egypt or Japan. This by far was the worst Italian fare we have ever had. I really didn’t care about the price, if the food and service were good. The service was very average. We weren’t offered a wine list. They didn’t even tell us the specials. My daughter felt sorry for her plate. I feel sorry for my palate and wallet.

Located in an area called«little Italy» and what a nice welcoming cultural part of town. Didn’t have reservations, but were seated immediately. Restaurant is very intimate and dark inside. Ordered calamari for appetizer, very tasty. Did take at least 25 min to get our entrees and I was so hungry. Ordered chicken Marsala and fettuccine Alfredo. The Marsala was amazing! Practically melts in your mouth. Great flavor and the best I’ve ever had. Alfredo was also amazingly good and tasted like fresh made pasta drenched in Alfredo sauce. Sauce was fantastic. Also tasted as if it were homemade and not out of a can.

The saffron rissotto is on point! I’ve visited Da Mimmo’s on a couple of occassions and have been pleasantly surprised. They start you off with a plate, that you won’t eat on and they’ll offer you brushetta or garlic bread, which you should know isn’t free. It’s delicious but NOT complimentary. I’ve ordered the saffron rice twice and came up disappointed this last time. The first time I ate at Da Mimmo’s was during a weekday and I was served a heaping portion. Unfortunatley when I came here on a Saturday though, I found that the serving size was maybe 1⁄3 of what I had gotten the previous time. I actually left the restuarant feeling a bit hungry because I was expecting a bit more food. Overall, I like the vibe of the place — even though as it gets darker outside management thinks its wise to turn down the indoor lighting as well? Oh well. You should still try it out for yourself. Note: Da Mimmo’s offers validated parking across the street, next to Vaccarro’s for their customers.
