We’ve tried to support this bar and patronize it, and have given them multiple second chances, but it just hasn’t worked out well. When they first opened, there were a few great food items — never anything you could really attach to, because the menu changed very often. Grilled tuna steak sandwich, grilled pork tenderloin sandwich, excellent fries. Great sauces. And, they had a soccer channel that our cable didn’t even carry, so we ended up there for lots of world cup qualifiers. But, while the food was good at the beginning, the service was awful. Our water and cocktail glasses would sit empty for almost 20 minutes before anyone came over for a refill or to offer another cocktail(while we were sitting at the bar). It was really frustrating because we’re trying to order more drinks, give them more money — and the bartender’s just standing at the end of the bar staring into space. When we did manage to get another drink, it was always really different from the initial — super inconsistent mixology. This happened for a good three or four visits, and then the food went downhill so we stopped eating there. Incredibly unevenly cooked burgers, half-cold fries, overly-salted flatbread pizza, undercooked crab cakes. Why did we keep going? Sometimes we want something close by that has all of the games on. It’s a really quick drive over, and even though the tv service isn’t HD(which is really rather frustrating), to get to watch all the games with a glass of beer(stay away from the inconsistent cocktails), is sometimes worth it. We wanted them to do well and stay an option, so we just dealt. Our most recent visit this past weekend, however, will be our last. Our beers were both very skunky(how old is this keg?) and when I went to wash my hands in the bathroom(because the bar was sticky), not only were most of the lights out in the bathroom, there were multiple dead cockroaches just sitting in the middle of the floor. I came back out and told the bartender discreetly, and she thanked me for the heads up. But, a few minutes later she came out and said«oh, you must not be from here — those are just water bugs. Not roaches!» Well, since I hadn’t taken my phone into the bathroom I didn’t take a picture, but gatherings of roaches are something we’ve seen elsewhere, and if you google what water bugs are here — they’re American cockroaches. So, call them whatever you wan’t, but your bathroom is dirty and your service is rude. We won’t be back.

I had the worst experience at Davids that I have ever had. I have been there a dozen times and never had a problem until today. When we(6) first went in, I asked the bar tender/waiter how much polish hot dogs were. He said 2/5.00 with chips. When we got our hot dogs they had fries on the plate. We didnt ask for fries. He brought us all water and 1 coke. He waited 10 min. then asked what we wanted. My grandson Justin ordered the 2/5.00 hot dogs with salsa and onions. My other grandson Trevor ordered 3.00 fries. I ordered the 2/5.00 hot dogs with mustard and onion. My son Chris ordered 3.00 fries and chicken tenders. HIs wife Megan ordered a cheese burger. My hot dogs came out with salsa and onions and were polish. ONe of the fries were wrong. When he took them back we told him mustard and onions on the 2/5.00 but he put lettuce and onions and still brought polish. This is not what I ordered. Our check came to 56.00 but he couldnt tell us why it was so high. He then went across the floor and very loudly announced that there was a problem with a check. At that point I went across the floor because I had a baby in my arms. He was told off about announcing that there was a problem so the whole restaraunt could hear him. He asked for a credit card before we even ordered. No one knew what that was about. After he made that mistake he should have charged us for the 2/5.00 hot dogs that we ordered. The waiter does not know anything about customer relations. The problem was not solved or fixed. There was 6 adults and two babies in our party. Some sort of correction should have been made.

If you are giving bad reviews about the food here, then you only have yourself to blame. Surely after just 10 seconds in this bar, your brain was telling you, «don’t order food». You should have listened. Tons of flatscreens, cheap beer, «locals». And you need to come in at least once to check out the murals. The Oriole bird on the baseball is my favorite.

First time I was here, the sole bartender walked right past my empty glass several times, then disappeared for 15 minutes while my buddy and I waited for service. The second time I tried to go here, I wasn’t allowed in because I had my skateboard with me. Guess what – skaters ain’t comin’ in your bar no more. Not that I really feel the need to visit anyway… nearly everything David’s does, Frazier’s does better.

I just love the down home local bar vibes of this place. We don’t want them all to turn into hipsterific 8 dollars a drink joints, for godsake! Just grab a draft, have some bar quality chicken tenders, shoot some pool and enjoy this«everybody’s welcome» Hampden sports bar. Three cheers for David’s!

Good place to watch O’s games. They have a special Boh and a shot for like $ 5 or something during games. Their fries are good but that is about all I like off their menu. Plenty of TV’s but only one big one that is in HD. Also outside of their Happy Hour the beer prices are pretty expensive. $ 6 for a Blue Moon for example.

I recommend going over to 7 – 11 across the street and picking out a frozen food item instead of ordering anything from there. The food is void of all flavor and the drinks are too. The only sad feeling I have about writing this is that I feel bad for the over worked 70 year old Irish guy who was nice but not able to keep up with everyone.

More like David’s fourth and long. This place is horrible and depressing. Busted all the way through.

Great for a weeknight. I got the Mediterranean salad with grilled chicken and it was delightful. Way better than most bar salads. Surprisingly good. Bartender was very attentive. And the meal was cheaper than most nearby spots. Only thing that worried me was how empty it was. For a Thursday night it should have been more crowded.

Small Menu Too many people for 1 waitress Food took over an hour and 20 minutes Food was nothing to brag about.& I mean nothing Only reason I am giving 2 stars and not 1 is because I received money off my bill

Rating is as an out-of-towner’s sports bar. They have a few interesting beer selections and pretty good bar food. Service is spotty. However, if you’re patient and looking for a place to watch sports when you’re not a Raven’s or O’s fan, David’s is one of the better options in town. The crowds aren’t crazy like they are down in Fell’s Point. On an ordinary Sunday(not conflicting with an O’s game) they have every NFL game on. You just have to make a strategy about whether to watch the screens that are on a 3-second delay. Switching from screen to screen can be annoying. They also have shufflebowling and skeeball. Alas, no pinball.

I was hoping to upgrade a local joint that shows sports, but at a recent event I attended, the owner yelled at the coordinator for reasons still unclear to me, and combined with continuing poor table service, I can’t recommend this place. I have found that sitting at the bar often yields better service, but it’s no guarantee.

$ 12 domestic buckets, a mural so life-like you could step into it, friendly compatriots and staff, and a million teevees, all playing at *slightly* different paces, all makes for a great Hampden sporting experience. The digital jukebox makes for goodtimes, as does the skeeball, shufflebowling — the taps are nothing special, but who needs fancy when you are throwing back with the Avenue’s finest.

I came here with a group of people for dinner while on my travels down in Baltimore. They have some nice deals such as the 20 wings and pitcher of beer for 20. The food is decent, nothing too special. Like everyone else who has commented on this sports bar, the service is their greatest downfall in doing business. If you want something, you’d have to go up to the bar and get someone else to get something, which can be a real pain. Overall, it was alright, not great.

I like good«real» food and am not a huge sports fan so I was not expecting much but was very pleseantly surprised. The poutine fries were really impressive(and gigantic!) With real carrot and onion pieces in the gravy. My sons pork loin sandwich was also a fresh surprise with a unique freshly toasted roll, freshly roasted peppers and was just a nice fresh flavorful surprise since we were expecting more of the run of the mill premade sports bar fair. I promise not say fresh again LOL. OK and last thing, the french onion soup had actual fresh herbs(whoops sorry about that)… another nice surprise! Not bad Dave’s. A few games of skeeball on their two skeeball machines and you’ve got a great night out.

David’s is a really comfortable, wide open place with a ton of tv’s all playing different channels so that you can keep tabs on multiple games or sports at the same time. When my boyfriend and I went after Honfest earlier in the summer, he was able to watch the O’s game while I was able to watch the Red Sox game. Neither one of us had to sacrifice for the other, and we were both pleased. However. The service here is not great. Our waitress disappeared on us for extended periods of time, and we weren’t here at a busy time of day. Also, their straws don’t come in paper wrappers? The waitress brought me over my straw on a napkin so that her hands didn’t touch it and contaminate it, and that was thoughtful, but still… gross. How much more money could it possibly cost them to order wrapped straws? There are hilariously terrible paintings on the walls in the dining area of this place. My boyfriend and I spent the long wait for our food making fun of them. I sincerely hope that the owners didn’t pay someone to paint these murals because they are awful. I hope the artist has a day job. I would give David’s two stars because as a bar I’m sure it’s okay(I don’t drink and therefore don’t go to bars, so I can’t judge it on that front). However, David’s gets one star because the overpriced and overcooked crab dip that we ordered off the pitifully small menu made me excruciatingly ill. I was sick to my stomach for hours later that day, and food rarely disagrees with me so severely. Never, ever again. Update: apparently the laughably terrible mural has been painted over. Now there’s really no reason to go here.

The sports bar stuff(Lots of big screen TV’s; reasonably priced drinks) gets 4 stars. The food part gets 2 stars. The place has a limited menu but the kitchen struggled the night we visited. Burger was good; fries overdone. The wife had a vegetarian entrée with portabella mushrooms, sweet potatoes and some trendy grain(farro) that would have been delicious if it were warmer. But at least they’re trying. The Onion soup was just OK. Was not brave enough to try the Poutine, that Canadian dish of french fries topped with cheese curds and brown gravy. But points for having Poutine on the menu. We hope that David’s kitchen continues to improve as you can tell they aspire to serve more than just regular bar food. Pluses include the 2(really fun!) Skeeball machines, FIFA soccer matches and the naïve mural depicting the Ravens Superbowl victory over the Forty Niners.

I was here for the Ravens — Broncos game last night to see what this sports bar had to offer. I was pleasantly surprised. It’s definitely a sports bar — an absurd amount of TV’s and a team spirited atmosphere. Several Tecate cans and two vodka tonics came out to be about 25 bucks which I thought was fair. We didn’t have any but the food looked delicious. Due to the crowd, the service wasn’t the best, but I’ll definitely be back to grab a bite and catch a game.

Having been twice for lunch, I’m going with the 3 based on sincere hope this Hampden location can succeed. But it’s moving to a 2 if a repeat visit is similar to today. There are some growing pains going on(waitresses arguing in front of customers over how tips should be split, flat soda, the usual) but I think this could be a good spot. But there seems to be a negative counter for each of their positives. So there are multiple big screens, but half of them aren’t in HD and look even more fuzzy sitting next to HD. They livened up the look by painting home town sports murals, but they look like they were done by middle school kids. The staff is friendly, but at times seems lost or overwhelmed. The menu and specials seem to be well thought-out but are a bit overpriced($ 9 for a chili cheese dog and a side of fries at lunch, and that’s the cheap end of the menu). The food is tasty — the candied jalapenos were a nice touch to the dog. But I seem to have to go through too much of the other to get to the good part. A longer-than necessary process to eat lunch and was only one of four in the place. And then there were no towels in the restroom. Sigh.

Get the Morgan Burger. Bacon, blue(or goat) cheese, and fig jam. It’s a great combination of sweet and bitter. They use Martin’s potato buns, which could be replaced with something a touch denser, but otherwise a very good burger. On the other hand, they’re losing a star now that I think about the drink prices again. The tipping point was when my suspicions about their exorbitant Union draft pricing were confirmed(I suspect the other premium drafts are pricey, too). On the other end of the specrum, I got 24 ounces of Union’s other beer, Duckpin Pale Ale(equally priced in the liquor stores), for $ 3 during happy hour at Rocket to Venus($ 5 pint normally). The cocktails and other premium drafts are definitely high, too. From now on, I’m sticking to Bohs and a burger and not going as often. I’ll save the tastier stuff for elsewhere. The least they could do is not skimp on the happy hour, which ends at 6. The owner’s son also mentioned that some of the staff requested higher wages. His retort was to mention how much money they’d sunk into remodeling the place. A poor business plan is a lousy excuse for overcharging and underpaying. Hopefully they figure out how to keep everyone happy and make the bottom line work.
