I had two expiring Groupons ending June 29th evening. Because of the rave reviews, I chose to use the one for Delights by Mina rather than the one for another restaurant. Now, I am definitely sure that we visited the wrong ‘Delights’ location. We went to 105 N. Charles St. rather than the Park Ave. location(which I was unaware of until today, re-reading reviews). As we entered, we saw only two other parties at tables. I was surprised because online suggested making reservations, which we had not. Also, it was about 12:10pm, lunch time downtown. The place looked rather deserted to have such magnificent reviews. A waitress popped up, told us to sit where we wanted, so we took a booth, and she vanished for almost 10 minutes. The table was dirty from previous diners. My brother wondered if we were on a hidden camera show. She returned with menus, was about to put them on the table when we stopped her, pointed out the crumbs on the table. She looked surprised, almost like she had no idea of what to do. Then she said she would be back, left, returned with some paper napkins and proceeded to brush the crumbs off the table onto the floor. She apologized to my bro when some of the crumbs landed on his lap. I couldn’t believe this was happening, but I just brushed it off(pun unintended). The waitress vanished again for about 10 more minutes. My mother, who has worked in Food Services could not conceal her extreme look of disapproval, which my bro pointed out. I asked my mother if she wanted to leave, but she said no. My brother told me under his breath that he would not drink any water here. I asked my mother several more times if she wanted to leave, until I just decided we would go because her face said it all, no mistaking her disdain. The waitress came back, and I told her that my mother and father couldn’t find anything they wanted on the menu. She asked if she could get us some drinks, and we declined and left. Outside, my mother confessed that she kept saying she would stay because the rest of us seemed OK with the place, she didn’t want to be a voice of dissension, but that she had planned NOT to order or eat or drink anything at all in there. We went to the restaurant where the other Groupon was. Very happy we did. My father confessed to my brother that he was voting to stay so as not to hurt the waitress’ feelings. She was friendly, by the way. Knowing that this Charles St. location is not the only location, I will definitely visit the Park Ave. location and do a review of that one.

So I didn’t get the chance to eat there. But My experience is that: That day it was my birthday and at my job I get to decide where to get launch from. I am african and I wanted my coworker to get a taste of that african food. So I asked a friend for a good african place in Baltimore and he tells me about Mina. I go on the website and I like what I saw. It also had good reviews. We are 7 in my departments. I call to place the orders and she tells me that she cannot make the orders for us. I had to call 2 days in advance. At lunch they only have buffet. I was disappointed. I felt like this type of information should have been on the website and the customers like me know and make plans accordingly. I was so mad but she was nice on the phone so I couldn’t go crazy on her, although she almost ruined my day. I was so looking forward to that food such a big disappointment. The disappointment is so big I will never go there and will let everybody know that they should not.

It was a little late in lunch serving but waited for a very limited number of 5 items but you can eat unlimited. The best is the lamb chop.

The food is 5 stars. Regional French-influenced west African done well. Delivery at lunchtime can be problematic; perhaps it’s communication issues with Eat24 perhaps it’s overwhelmed drivers, I don’t know. Mina, however, takes a personal hand in making sure her customers are happy and well-fed. When there has been an issue she stepped up, owned the problem, and made it right ASAP. This is absolutely the kind of local business worth supporting — she’s doing things well and working to make things better while cooking up some great food. Now stop reading reviews and order something already!

I would give this place 7 stars if possible. I came here at 6pm on a Tuesday, and was greeted by Mina the store owner. Although the restaurant was already closed, she still offered to make me dinner! She went through the menu with me to go over the options, as I said I wanted to try something new. She ended up making the Attieke Poisson(best fish I’ve had) with a side of amazing plantains and two pieces of juicy and tender oxtail that she offered for free! She also made me ginger juice which was delicious. To top it off I ordered the strawberry shortcake crêpe, which Mina ordered from the 2nd branch and had it delivered here. Anyway I had an amazing experience here and you would be missing out if you don’t try it at least once.

Usually don’t like crepes but their roasted vegetables with feta crêpe was really flavorful and delicious. My girlfriend got the jerk chicken and was really pleased. The seasoning was spicy, but balanced and the chicken was really juicy throughout. Also, the woman who picked up the phone and delivered was really nice and helpful with the menu options!

A friend and I were grabbing a drink after work at the new Mount Vernon Marketplace and decided to also get a bit to eat. Of the plenty of delicious looking vendors in the marketplace, Delights by Mina was serving some delicious looking crepes. They had sweet and savory options, but the sweet ones had nutella in them. How could anyone in their right mind turn that down? The crêpe that stood out to me the most was NuStrawBan. The crêpe was caramelized on the outside then filled with nutella and bananas then on top was a few strawberries. The fresh fruit added a nice freshness to the crêpe, but overall it was super sweet and delicious. Probably the best crêpe I’ve ever had. If you have a craving for a crêpe while in Mount Vernon, check out the sweet and savory options at Delights by Mina.

This place was a true culinary find in downtown Baltimore on a Sunday afternoon — especially the poulet mafé(chicken with peanut sauce)! The weekend buffet(served from 12 to 4) was a very good deal at just $ 12.72(which included non-alc. beverages). Very friendly & attentive service, too, and our waitress even brought us samples of Mina’s homemade bissap(hibiscus drink) and jus de gingembre(ginger juice). We look forward to returning soon to try one of our other favorite West African dishes — the poulet yassa(chicken in a lime, pepper, & onion sauce)! We also hope that Mina will start serving dinner more often than just the first Friday evening of the month.

We arrived here very early for the buffet, the food is very good and traditional west african. Don’t forget to taste their peanut butter chicken and ginger juice. Very reasonably priced. Definately a good place to meetup for lunch. I just wished they had more items on buffet.

Mina is absolutely wonderful. She cooks the best food ever. She also takes time to check on you to make sure everything is ok. My first visit she made a special dish for my colleague who is vegan. It looked really tasty and so did my dish. She also lets us try new dishes and desserts. Her homemade juice is also amazing!!! I have been back for the buffet and it is great also. The only criticize i have is the service and food is definitely lacking when she is not there. Everything is just amazing when she is available at the Charles St location. Your the best Mina!!!

This is a wonderful gem of a restaurant! The atmosphere was wonderful, beautifully painted. Service was wonderful. The hostess was very helpful and told of us of all the wonderful thing they offer; buffets and cooking classes. The food was definitely the best part! Had both savory and sweet crepes and they were delicious. Hoping to return soon!

Mina has moved to a new location just down the street from where she was, i am yet to try the a la carte yet, but i have tried both buffets the breakfast and the lunch. I took the breakfast to go, which turned out to be a little pricey so the way to go is to sit in. It was delicious, i tried the lunch buffet then it was a weekend everything was fresh and delicious. I am yet to try the philly steak crêpe, will pop in one of those days to try it out. All in all she and her partner and crew are serving up some delicious eats on Charles Street. Check them out.

I was glad to see that they reopened so I went to try them last week. They currently have a temporary menu(I believe they call it soft launch menu) and my understanding a new one should be coming soon. The crêpe I had was still as tasty as I remember from before, so I was very glad about it. The location is also much bigger than you would think from the outside, it seems they have plans to have some type of buffet based on the the current layout. This definitely went from a food court joint, to a full scale restaurant, so I am happy for them. The only thing that I wasn’t as happy was the price(therefore the 4 stars and not 5). A crêpe, side(got plantains) and drink were almost $ 13. A little steep to make it a frequent lunch like I used to before. If I remember correctly, the same lunch was around $ 7/$ 8 before. I will probably go back less often now due to the higher price, probably once a month, rather than twice a week… hopefully they come up with a lunch special menu with a more competitive price.
