I was introduced to Silver Moon II about two years ago through a coworker. There were two Greek men on the grill and two young white women working the counter. I LOVED coming here. I would always order the same thing, grilled chicken Caesar salad. It was DELICIOUS! I went a few weeks ago after a hiatus due to trying to cut back on ordering out. Well, the Greek men and young white women are gone. We are now left with an older white woman that is just pain rude, and young men that seem like they mean well, but are not prepared to work with a fast-paced downtown crowd. I tried to order my salad over the phone so I could just pick it up as I only have a limited amount of time for lunch. I was hug up on twice, but figured there was a problem with the phone(I did not know my favorite counter girls left). I walked over and ordered my salad. It took more than 30 minutes to make my salad and while I was there I had to listen to the woman at the counter yell at the cooks, talk down to them, and get rude with customers. I was trying to hold out to taste the salad, and it was not as tasty as I remember. No more Silver Moon for me. Back to Attman’s and Lenny’s.

I really enjoyed coming here months ago when the two guys were obviously running the place. The atmosphere was nice and the place was clean and you certainly felt welcomed and throughly enjoyed your food. Back in the day before they came along Silver Moon was known for good food but the WORST service. You would practically go in and try to be as nice as possible so that you wouldn’t piss off the counter lady, get your food and dash. Fast forward to now the guys are gone and the place had went back to just ok food and terrible customer service. The lady at the counter acts like her life is miserable and it seems like she hates people in general. You feel so degraded at the counter and don’t even ask her a question she give you the look of death. So sad because I became a regular here and now I can’t imagine going back!!! I sucked it up the other day for the first time and my husband and I decide to give them a try since the new management. My chicken cheesesteak was no what I was used to, it was so heavy and it lacked the flavor the other cook gave. I even thought I heard the lady talking about us as we were leaving out of the door!!! Jesus hold my mule! No one should feel like this when patronizing an establishment. So yourself a favor and eat somewhere else!!!

Came here for first time In awhile and discovered the mean ugly lady was back. I normally would have walked out but had called in my order. She has gotten fat and uglier. I have seen her verbally abuse people including teenagers. Run don’t walk out if you see her!

First night in Baltimore. Rainy night and town was pretty dead. Especially after the orioles lost. Right down the street from my hotel. Place was pretty empty but it was 10:00 pm and it only has 5 tables to begin with. Nice menu selection and reasonable prices. Had a delicious gyro with a Greek salad and fries for $ 9. Super tasty. Place was very clean. Staff very friendly. The also have homemade desserts which I plan on trying before I leave Baltimore.

My cheese steak and fries were delicious. The place is very clean. It seems like most people call in, I didn’t but my order didn’t take long at all.

This is somewhat a carry out restaurant, but it has a few tables and 3 booths if one wants to eat in. Either way, the food is nicely prepared, though served in McDonalds like containers for some things, and the silverware is invariably church – picnic style plastic ware(if you eat what you ordered there) BUT – BIGGGGBUT – you can’t beat the food!!! The fries were as good as any we’ve eaten elsewhere, and the crab cakes… ahhh, the crab cakes. Only ones I’ve ever eaten that were as good were at Cap’n Jacks years ago on the Potomac – my always comparison on crab cakes. If you want big, delicious crab cakes whose main ingredient is CRAB, nicely spiced with just a whiff of something to hold the together, you can’t beat the Silver Moon II!!!

We were staying at a hotel nearby on a rainy cold night so this was easy walking distance away. It was late and I am pretty sure they were getting ready to close, but the service was really friendly and quick. We ate inside at a small booth. I ordered a cheese steak which came out boiling hot. I don’t know if this is the norm, because the one I had in Philly was the same way. I am not complaining but I had to just hold the bread open and let it cool off for a while. I burnt my mouth on the first few bites, but it was still pretty tasty. Good late night eats.

Takes the corner diner to the next level. Amazing homemade desserts, huge all lump meat crab cakes, friendly service! This place isn’t fancy but what they do, they do well and with a smile!

So so good! The staff is incredibly nice and the food is shockingly good, especially given the prices!

Once again… I made my stop here for crabcakes. The last couple of times I came by they did not have any crackers. Understandable because it’s winter and not really in season much. I phoned the store to ask this time first before going by and the owner knows me by the lady from Philadelphia… once I told her who I was and that I would be in town for the weekend, she told me to call her Saturday morning to see if she could get some in. I called and told her I would be there in about an hour. I totally APPLAUD her because she made it happen for me. Now that’s over and beyond the call of duty. I was able to get 2 crabcake platters which were absolutely delicious. Thanks so much!

This ain’t no party. This ain’t no disco. This ain’t no foolin’ around.* So you better have your order ready before you even think of approaching the register. The folks taking it have no time for indecisive hemming & hawing. It gets busy up this piece during lunchtime. Better yet, fax the order so you’re not holding up the rest of us hungry Baltimoreans. I strongly suggest coming after 13:00 to avoid the hectics. East Silver Moon II’s a staple of the main post office, BPD, and passersby on the #20& #23 buses. Or a discombobulated tourist or two enroute to schwanky Harbor East. Oops! No tapas, spicy maguro maki, or Dirty Mojitos? No. It’s subs, sammiches, sodas, and fried fish & fowl. The fried chicken of the 6 Wings & Fries($ 7.75) used to be huge. Not so much now, but still tasty. Fries seasoned with salt and/or pepper on request. The Double Cheeseburger($ 5.50) is more mayo, lettuce, and thick slice of fresh tomato than meat. The bun’s big & soft, but patties thin. What shines most is the Grilled Reuben($ 7). Piled hefty with hot corned beef, sauerkraut, and good amounts of melted Swiss served open-face. Cup of Thousand Island on the side. Knife & fork required. I like their fare. Nothing’s «blown me away», but it’s not geared for that. No fronting gastronomic glory in this little shop. It’s solid, pretty reliable customary comfort food in a modest setting. Staff obliging if you come correct. So, chill out, mind your P’s & Q’s, get in line, and order. And stop yakking loud on that cell phone! You’re risking the stink-eye from management. East Silver Moon II will feed you. And they’ll feed you pretty well. But they ain’t gonna coddle you. *courtesy«Life During Wartime» by Talking Heads(1979)

(01/28/2011) Was wandering around in the snow looking for a place to grab food after coming back from the post office before hopping back on the metro to work. Passed by Silver Moon II right outside the Shot Tower metro stop. It’s clean and inexpensive. They had the usual suspects for a carryout place(cold subs, hot subs, some Italian and Greek specialties). The gyro platter came with a side of salad(fresh looking) and a side of fries(forgettable) for $ 7.16. The gyro itself was very satisfying; the flatbread was supple, not dry; the meat was very well seasoned and was more like kefta, and less like that compressed sliced gyro meat you usually see around town. It had fresh chopped tomatoes, white onions and parsley, and the bonus was the garlicky tzatziki which was liberally applied the entire length of the wrap, and not just on the exposed opening. I was waited on by a very polite and efficient young lady. Behind the counter though, there was a some kind of drama going on between who could only be the boss lady and some poor contractor she was reaming out for not doing his job properly. I was amused, but other delicate flowers might be offended by the volume and choice words. The place was clean, efficient, and the food above average for a carryout joint. I’d definitely go back if I was over that way.

Walked past this place looking for another restaurant, ended up coming back and going in, we ordered a Italian cold cut, cheese steak and a half and half, the food was really good. Clean restroom, clean tables, attentive staff. We will return.
