I went to the«new» location in 2003 and, while not totally let down, was just not that impressed. I was there as a joke really, just to see some old 80’s hair band. We left before they came on. The old location, which was torn down in 1997 to make way for Ravens Stadium, was just awesome. A renovated warehouse, this place was 2 clubs in one. On the left was a bar but sometimes they had exotic dancers on the little stages connected to the bar. On the right was the concert hall where I saw acts like Slayer, Pantera, Ramones, Tool, Fishbone, Faith No More, and so many more I can’t remember. Sometimes they opened the doors to the concert hall side so you could watch the band playing for awhile and then take 5 steps over to watch a half-naked woman gyrate to NWA. Ahhh, the nineties. My best memory was when Slayer was playing and, in the middle of «Reign in Blood», some girl in a neon green skin-tight dress jumped off the RAILINGOFTHESECONDFLOORBALCONY! They caught her at the bottom and then proceeded to pull her dress up as she crowd-surfed to the back. Getting old sucks.

Saw a Little Feat show here — gotta be close to 20 years ago and the place was an adequate venue and the show ROCKED.

I thought this place had shut down. Back in the day Hammerjacks was an ok place, even though I’m not a big fan of clubs. $ 10 open bar night was great! Come to think of it that’s the only reason I ever went there.
