What happened to this place? The old dark horse was never my favorite bar but at least they had good wings. The first thing I noticed tonight was that the new menu doesn’t even seen like a real menu. It looked like an elementary school project. Not only was it just an unorganized list of items on a white piece of paper, but they also had sports-related names that had absolutely nothing to do with the food item at all, like the«4th and 29 burger»(a cheeseburger). I ordered said burger, and was never asked how I would like it cooked. Apparently that was because they cook it with a blowtorch, because it was nice and burnt on the outside while somehow still pink on the inside. It was also extremely bland. The crab tots we got as an appetizer were actually pretty good, and my friends seemed to think their wraps were decent too. Afterwards, the bartender/waiter(who was the only employee we saw the entire time, on a saturday night) asked us if we wanted separate checks. We didn’t really need to, but since he offered, we said yes. This process took 45 minutes, because he had to find the manager to split the checks, then realized he didn’t remember who ordered what, came over to ask us, had to find the manager again, brought the checks, realized the happy hour special for the night($ 2 off each beer) had not been applied, apparently had to find the manager again to be able to apply a standard happy hour special, and then brought the checks again. We never actually saw the manager. Also, the checks were still wrong, but at least the total was right so we paid them and settled it amongst ourselves. It was absurd. Have more than one person working on a saturday night, and if you’re going to have a special, give that person the ability to ring it up in the register without going on a 20 minute manhunt for their boss. I came here several times when it was Dark Horse. I won’t be back unless the old owners return and bring a competent staff along with them.

Food was ok, but the service was inexcusably slow. Even after the bartender brought us free shots of fireball, we waited so long for our checks that we unanimously agreed we would take the check on time over free shots. The bar looks even more empty on a Saturday night when there are only like 7 tables and a ton of useless space. It looks as if they are trying to discourage a lot of business. Daily specials are useless when the bartender can’t apply them without a manager present, and it ends up taking almost an hour just to get the check. Would not recommend to anyone visiting the area, especially when there are so many better bars nearby.

This place is okay. We went for trivia one night and had a good time. I hate their menu. It’s confusing and a little too casual. It reminds me of when I was a kid and used to make my own menus when I was«playing restaurant.» Take some time to write some descriptions on there. It just seems lazy to me. Nothing stood out to me and I ended up just ordering tots which were ended up being good and not overly fried. There seemed to be only one server for the whole crowd and she did a good job of handling it. My friends liked their wings, but that wasn’t a surprise since that location has always been known for wings. I’m sure they’d get a lot more business if they actually did something with their menu and made it a little more appetizing. I am hoping this place lasts because it is a nice place to play trivia.

Horse With No Name used to be Dark Horse and I keep confusing the names, but anyway, it’s Horse With No Name now. We came here with friends for trivia on Wednesday night. Trivia starts at 8 and we arrived at 7:30, but the bar was still pretty empty. Even though it was trivia night, there weren’t many drink specials. I was a bit disappointed that there weren’t many good deals, so I stuck with my usual shock top. So the menus here are like order your own sushi menus, but for wings and burgers instead of sushi. I guess it’s clever, but using all that paper seems kind of wasteful. Also, there isn’t a wide variety of food options or food specials. If you come here to eat, definitely expect standard bar fare. I ordered the pineapple habanero wings with a side of sweet potato fries. The wings were very tasty! The chicken was cooked well and I loved the pineapple habanero flavor. It definitely hit the right balance of sweet and spicy. The sweet potato fries were good as well. Service was decent. It seemed like there was only one waitress working the majority of the tables and she was definitely doing her best. Trivia was fun! I’d definitely come back on trivia night, but otherwise I’d love it if there were more food and drink specials, as well as a greater variety of food options. I would recommend this place for wings, though. Definitely one of the better wing places in Canton/Fells.
