Myth and Moonshine was a great bar with great food and exceptional service until they changed management in December.(Please take notice of the plethora of 1-star reviews since the change occurred.) The new manager, Todd, has no business in the service industry. He not only chose not to honor an existing event contract, but he also provided NO notice that he was going to terminate the contract and simply refused to honor it during our event. This unfortunate situation only occurred after I already had 17 guests in his door. Plus, I had confirmed everything 24-hours before the event and was told it was and that the bar was looking forward to hosting us. Despite everything, I gave everyone the benefit of the doubt and contacted him the next day to so we could work together to ensure that it didn’t happen at our future scheduled events. He was neither apologetic nor empathetic. Instead, he rudely spoke over me and became incredibly defensive. He started making false claims about the terms of the contract, blamed his lack of communication with his event planner(regardless, we physically presented him with the contract at the event), and refused to accept that his choice to ignore the contract was wrong. When I questioned the errors in his statements, he began making false accusations against my members and me before finally hanging up on me. He was rude and arrogant and attempted to bully me during our conversation. It was incredibly unpleasant. Please choose one of the many other wonderful, Smalltimore businesses – the many that respect their patrons and their contracts – before giving this man a penny of your hard-earned money. Side Note: In my experience, all of the staff are wonderful people, and I’m saddened that Todd’s behavior and lack of management skills will negatively impact them.

This place used to be great, but since the change in ownership everything has gone straight downhill. Avoid.

Walls of whiskey, bourbon, and of course moonshine. Plenty of selections all served in mason jars.

Checked this place out foe brunch because of the good reviews, but really wished we hadn’t. A list of our issues: –Told they had bottomless mimosas, which sounded great, but they served them to us with moscato and didn’t tell us they were out of champagne until we asked why it was so sweet! Gross! — Two of us ordered french toast, it wasn’t cooked completely. Better flavors can be had by cooking it at home. Even the maple syrup lacked flavor. –Chicken and waffles had ZERO flavor –Had to ask for things multiple time before they ended up at the table, ex orange juice –Served a carton of half and half(that went to multiple tables) with coffee, and took away before our coffee was refilled We are used to quality food, so we have high expectations, but this was the worst brunch we have EVER had.

Overall: 1.5 Food: 2 Service: 0.5 We came in with a large party of 9 on a Thursday night, which we were excited about because it was a Beer Burger Bourbon special night. The server came around fairly expeditiously to get our drink orders, and that was the high point of the night. Not all the drinks made it to the table after ordering, and one in our party waited more than 20 minutes for his drink(just a shot of bourbon, nothing fancy). Our food orders were taken at least 30 minutes after our drink orders. It took nearly 75 minutes to receive our food after ordering, and the orders were all mixed up. Mr Beffrey ordered a Bordeaux burger, specifically because you can order the temp on it(whereas the burgers listed as part of the BBB specials are smashed burgers all cooked to well done). On the first try, he received someone else’s Bacon Jalapeño Cheddar burger. On the second try the Bordeaux burger came out well done, when it was ordered medium rare, unacceptable for a $ 16 burger. Third time’s a charm — it finally came out right, and Mr Beffrey thought it was decent but not worth the price. On the plus side, the sweet potato fries were piping hot and crispy. Ms Beffrey had the Garden Flatbread(decent but not worth the $ 11 price tag). The side of stewed corn salsa was tasty, but also not special. The abysmal service and incredibly slow kitchen ruined our experience. It looked like there were only two waitresses for the entire place, including another large party in addition to ours. The manager did comp 25% off our entire party’s tab as a very generous gesture, but regardless we will probably not be coming back. Overall, will be avoiding this place until their service and kitchen issues have been worked out, otherwise looks like this place has potential as a low key neighborhood hangout.

Great service, if something is missing… Just ask! Good food, good atmosphere. Bottomless drinks during brunch… How is that? Can’t say the hush puppies are good(I don’t like them) but the good was delicious and service exceptional.

I sat at the bar and ordered Crabby Grilled Cheese sandwich. It came with a tomato soup. The service itself was fine but the bartender’s personality could’ve been better. Didn’t seem very social. The food itself was good and fresh. Didn’t take long to come out. I have been here before and sat at a table. Lighting is way too dark at the tables vs the bar. Parking can be a nightmare. Expected for that area but still annoying. A Living Social deal was the reason for my second visit. Maybe I’ll go again in the future. But because I rarely visit downtown, it won’t be any time soon.

Went back for a second round, and it looks like they really ironed out the couple issues we encountered during my first visit. This time a girl friend and I swung in this past Saturday for an early dinner. We grabbed the corner seats at the bar, and the bartender got us set up. We had the tuna ceviche and duck confit sweet potato fries to start, then split the Crabby grilled cheese. The ceviche was fresh and tasty, although I wish they’d used a lighter hand with the lemon/lime juice so the fish could shine. The fries were a decadent plate of crispy sweat potato, tender duck meat, and Gorgonzola cheese, all drizzled in a honey mustard sauce(could have eased up on the salt, but really good overall). Crabby grilled cheese was to die for, plus it came with a cup of vegan creamy tomato soup for dipping! Heaven.

I missed my group of pals, that went earlier, but I still had a desire(and a coupon) to try M&M out. So here it go… Located in thee Canton on Boston street. Can’t say that it was easy for me to spot from the Road, I’d say that the signage was fair to middling at best. Parking can be bit tough, depending what time you get there, seriously after seven seems to be best. I dug the interior, it was pretty open, a nice bar in the middle. I think it had a granite top… can’t say that I see that too often. I dug the lighting and the little touches here and the there. From the moment that I walked in the bartenders spoke and where über helpful. There are daily HH specials, which, I must admit it was pretty cool. From the beers, the dranks and the sliders. Each night has a random theme from neighborhood night, trivia, server, and the like. They have a crap ton of moonshine, and ofter a flight for a nice price. You can even purchase bottles to take home. I missed happy hour(d’oh) but tried the hush puppies, my friend got the crab cake sliders. The hush puppies were okay, and he appeared to enjoy his sliders. We were both slightly bummed that they were out of wings for the night. IMHO the portion seemed to be kind of small, but I’m assuming that was because it was an appetizer. The sandwiches that I saw appeared to have a greater content. There is new ownership, does that have anything to do with it? Like, I noticed that they didn’t honor some of the specials posted on the walls… total bummerization. All in all, I totally dug the dranks, the atmosphere, and the folk were so cool too — I went on trivia night, oh and by the by, I sucked at it, but it was still a(slightly) drunken blast. I’d come back again for more moonshine, more trivia, but I’d definitely make sure I make HH… that and the farmer’s brunch…

Checked in with the excitement of using the 50% off a cocktail, to be highly disappointed that the establishment didn’t support the deal and seemed upset and rude about it. Apparently it was a Unilocal advertisement, but not in agreement with the bar. Wouldn’t go back.

Ok… So How do you EFF Up Old Bay Wings??? IDK… But these guys managed to. There so Called Fried Then Baked wings and then add the seasoning Was A Fail To Me. Over Cooked I was so Underwelhmed. The Flat Bread My BFF Ordered was over cooked, Burnt on the edges. Ordered The Desert because I was in That Kind of Mood and as you can see in my Photo that was charred. The Female bartender who was also our server did a Great job selling the items that we were so Unhappy with, So 5 Stars to her for Getting Our $$$. The other Bartender/Manager Male… He was very Rude and unaccomodating… I dont know where he got his hospitality training from but he Needs to Enroll in the 1st available class. The Moonshine Got Me drunk so That did what it was supposed to Do!!! 5 Stars for that. Overall My experience there is one to remember and Not in A Good Way. HATEDIT!!! 2THUMBSDOWN, WITH A SNAP, IN A CIRCLEASMYLIPSPOKEOUT. I would not Go back, I Would not recommend this place to my friend or my enemy.

Went for a group event and was a little shocked at how unprepared they were for groups. I found the waitress to not be very attentive and she even messed up the check in the end. Oh well, now I know. I can’t comment much on the food as I didn’t really come to eat but I’ll make a special trip back just to see if it’s worth it. The group I came with mostly came for the moonshine and the conversation with each other. We all tried a variety of moonshines in the flights that they have and while some of them tasted a bit like rubbing alcohol a few(mostly the firefly distillery) had a really good taste to them. I found that I could drink the firefly peach over ice and I usually can’t drink any alcohol straight! The flight is worth it to try a few and figure out what you really like and can tolerate. As far as mixed drinks I only tasted a few but they were good mixes with a lot of flavor. Some had wayyyy more kick than others.

Came here with a group of friends to see what the hype was about regarding the moonshine. Boy was I impressed! Not only did they pair the moonshine excellently with drinks but the food was also good too. I ordered the hush puppies and framers market muffuletta sandwich which were very good. My friend ordered the loaded fries, they were ok. They could have done without the tomatoes, makes the fries soggy. As far as drinks, they were all good. I ordered the fuzzy daddy with ginger ale, I’d highly recommend that combo if you like a cream soda. I also had a blackberry on acid which was very very good. We all ordered flights of moonshine. My two favorites where the pumpkin and moo pie chocolate. Our waitress was very informative of the restaurant. She was nice to split our tabs for such a large party as well. One touch that I enjoyed was she told us that gratuity was added to our check, not something that all servers do. Was scoping their brunch menu on the website, look forward to returning and trying it out.

Came here for a birthday happy hour. First let me say that I am no moonshine expert. I didn’t know what to expect. They have a huge array of moonshines and they give you suggestions on what to get them mixed with. I had a couple and they were very tasty. I’m intrigued to go back. The food was okay. I sampled the old bay wings(a bit too dry) and the hush puppies(large and good) and the sliders(very yummy). The atmosphere is a bit eclectic and hipsterish. Parking is on the street so that can be a pain(I took an über). I am curious to return if they do brunch!

I arrived around 5:30 and it was not busy at all. It was easy to find a seat at the bar and the service was pretty great. They had a wide variety of moonshine drinks. I got the Pink Palmer and it pretty good, it could have been a little stronger… but all around good. I got the Hushpuppies as an appetizer and they were delicious, some of the best I’ve had. I also ordered the Crabby Grilled Cheese, it was tasty and it had a decent amount of crab. All in all, I would recommend again.

Myth and Moonshine is trendy among the restaurant crowd, and with a large bar I can see why. In addition, M&M is a farm to table restaurant. We came on a Saturday morning, and it seemed a little chaotic though it wasn’t exceptionally crowded. We were given a seat at a bar table and here is my first recommendation — don’t sit at the bar tables if you can help it. I got to listen to a woman socialize loudly during my brunch and I was a little peeved. Even though they were still serving brunch, there was no coffee and they brewed us a fresh pot, and again it was alright. I had an omelet, and my wife had a benedict. Both were excellent. They certainly put a lot of thought into their dishes, and on their food alone, I can see why they are so popular. Except, I don’t think M&M knows what it wants to be — a loud sports bar, a trendy meeting place, or a good restaurant. It simply can’t be all three, not with the limited space. We won’t go back(to eat) based on the noise alone, but we will go there to drink(especially since we have social groups that host happy hours there). All in all a good place.

I’m baffled by any rating above 2 stars for this place. It’s possible that on a Friday night, we managed to get the worst Kitchen staff, but this was a big disappoint. To be fair, this is listed as Bar first, and that is absolutely the approach you take to this place. First off, the good. Good that 4 could seat fast on a Friday! There’s a good amount of space(the lack of people certainly helped), to move around in. The drinks were pretty good! Big selection and a great mix of flavors on the cocktail menus. The Moonshine Mule was definitely the highlight drink. All front of house staff were very friendly, attentive,…certainly no issues there. The food had a very clear night and day between how the menu reads an item, and what you receive. For an appetizer: «Sriracha-Tomato Cream Soup — Sautéed scallions, heirloom cherry tomatoes, and cilantro broth finished with coconut cream.» So says the menu. There was nothing«cream» about it, it was all broth. It looked like a can diced tomatoes from a store heated up with a dash of Sriracha. I didn’t taste the coconut cream, the cilantro was piled on top, and the normally great cherry tomatos were just lost in this broth. My entrée was the Canton Crab Cake($ 23), which had an absolutely pitiful panko batter. Under-seasoned by far, but again, topped with a copious amount of micro-sorrel. A side of garlic mashed potatoes, which was absolutely nothing special, and spicey, wet corn. There was a line of Remoulade on the plate, which helped the crab out, but not enough(yo, bud, add some butter, guy). My bae bae ordered a special the black&blue mac and cheese, which was flavorless(how?), and you could make far better at home on your first time. Which is the theme of this place: I could’ve made this better myself. The décor doesn’t really stick out in any way compared to other restaurants/bars in the area. Didn’t love a kitchen staff-mate giving me a nice«how you doin sweetheart?» 2 inches from my face on my way to the unisex bathroom, which is, also a foot away from the kitchen. When all is said is done for 2 entrees, 1 app, and 3 drinks, we came out around $ 120, and for 2 people and such badly made meals, I’d really recommend going somewhere else to eat. Be tickled by the amount of moonshine, get a drink, and go.

This was my first time trying Myth and Moonshine and I was excited to try a new place. The first thing I ordered was a Pop and the Peach moonshine drink which was very good. Soooo good I ordered 2 of them. Lol. For appetizers we tried the hushpuppies which was really tasty and the duck confit sweet potato fries… uhhhh they fell short. It just wasnt good. For entrees I ordered chicken and waffles and my friend ordered the Mac & cheese with steak. My friend enjoyed her meal however my chicken was overcooked… too chewy. I had to send it back. The 2nd round was much better and the waffle was accompanied with syrup and some type of strawberry sauce mixed with moonshine. They need to bottle it and sell it. It was soooooo frikkkin good I had to take some to go. DJM please… lol I took my food home so I had room for dessert *insert grin here* and we went with the Bananas Foster which was just ok. Honestly I think this place is great for drinks and possibly brunch. I heard they have an amazing brunch on Sundays, the chef goes to the farmers market to get certain dishes, which I cant wait to try. They also have a Drag brunch.

I have to recommend checking out Myth and Moonshine if you’re in the area. A few friends who live in Baltimore recommended we meet there on a recent trip down and found it was a great rendezvous spot, at the least. A good few notches your average pub food with some cool spins on classics you’d expect to see. I particularly enjoyed the crab cakes and found the wings to be to exactly right where I like them to be in terms of texture and sauciness. Everyone in the group enjoyed their experience. Otherwise, the great draft selection, good service and cool low-key décor and vibe make for a good time. Would revisit. PS Our service was excellent but what really blew me away is that the server automatically brought us separate checks.

The name really caught our attention when my boyfriend, his sister and I were looking for a place with some yummy drinks. We sat at the bar and were left a little disappointed with the happy hour menu. We started off with round of the moonshine cocktails. I originally ordered the Blackberry on Acid drink but it was a bit too strong for me so I switched drinks with my boyfriend. He ordered the Pop and the Giant Peach and it was delicious and sweet. We wanted to try more of the moonshines so we asked about the moonshine flight. For some reason it wasn’t on the menu. For $ 17 you can try 5 of the moonshines. The bartender was kind enough to give us 6 moonshines to try. We were given a long list of different moonshines that varied from unflavored to fruit flavored. My favorite shine was the moonpie banana. M&M also has moonshines that you can buy near the bar area. I wasn’t that hungry so I ordered had the crabcake sliders appetizer. These were pretty good. I also had a bite of the chicken and waffles and it was delicious! The chicken was very tender and went well with the waffle. I would definitely order this next time. Service was excellent throughout dinner and drinks. The bartender even hooked us up with some deals. I look forward to coming back!
