I can’t figure out what the hype’s about. I’ve tried all the Indian restaurants on Charles Street and this one is decidedly my least favorite. The service was very slow, and it was difficult to get the attention of any waiters even though it wasn’t a busy night. This might be excused if the food were good. I believe that sometimes, fusion restaurants can be done really well. I’m not some food purist. But I was thoroughly unimpressed by the poorly-focused menu. Some of the menu options are so random. Aubergine Arugula Salad with wasabi? Uhhh, ok, we’re doing Japanese fusion. Jalepeno chicken? What. Ok, Mexican fusion? Lobster with Green Tomato? I mean, I guess the crab dishes they have make sense if they’re trying to do a Baltimore-specific fusion. That’d be cool, if done well. It’s a shame, too, but the few truly-Indian dishes we tried had fairly flat flavor, like Indian Food Lite or something. –The chai was lukewarm and from a bag. And they charged $ 3 for it! Go to Nepal House for the best masala chai, the REAL stuff, which comes free with your $ 10 lunch buffet. –The Avocado Mango Chaat tasted like a weird combination of a chana chaat and a western side salad from a bag of sad lettuce. It just didn’t work. –No complimentary papadum appetizer. Everything else is priced so high, you’d figure they’d at least throw that in like all the other Indian restaurants on Charles Street do. –I can’t even remember for sure what else we got – I think a chicken curry and a lamb dish. I just recall the flavor profiles being rather boring(try any of the other Indian restaurants, particularly Lumbini, for good flavor). The location and interior are redeeming qualities, assuming you don’t mind the walls and ceiling being hot pink(I didn’t mind this, actually. Nice fireplace and chandeliers too). It’s a gorgeous old row home, and there’s plenty of space for a dinner party. In fact, I bet they get a lot of their business from corporate dinners where they have to make sure Doris from Accounting can order a nice safe Indigma Lettuce Cup and some Ginger Chicken and feel like she’s being«exotic.» *eyeroll* Two stars.

Best Indian food I’ve had. Their lunch buffet is phenomenal. The atmosphere is authentic and seems to take you all the way to India. The staff and the service were both excellent. The owner, Tony, is very friendly and helpful describing the wonderful array of food. Would definitely recommend!

Would definitely recommend this restaurant! Great atmosphere and amazing food. The chef does incredible job at integrating authentic flavored from different regions of India to create traditional dishes with a twist. Everything we tried was unique and full of flavor. So yummy! We can’t wait to come back again.

Excellent food. Came here on a Tuesday afternoon with some friends. We loved every dish we ordered. The meat items were excellently prepared, the meat was very tender and juicy. Staff were courteous, friendly and patiently informative. For appetizers we tried the avocado mango salsa — was a great fusion of Mexican and Indian! The crab paratha — was like a pizza with crab pieces on it. Such a novel idea to bring Maryland into the picture. We ordered the NonVeg thali. It had more quantity than the usual thali, which matched the price. The herb chicken had plenty of spices, but was not spicy. The chicken vindaloo was spicy, as expected, without being overwhelming. The chettinad chicken I ate with both the rice and the plain paratha. So good. The rice pudding that we ordered to top it off, was probably the best rice pudding I’ve had. Will definitely return.

Over all food was ok. 16 $ weekend buffet is too overprice and full of hype. Only two — three item where really worth eating from vast buffet selection. Waiter and I believe other guy was the owner kind of made me feel uncomfortable after I accidentally pour some tea which was kept beside the buffet. Got to hear from both of them that i was not supposed to self serve the tea. Yes I get it! On top of that never even got a chance to drink the tea as waiter came back after ten minutes saying they are out of sugar. I am local to this area and wont be coming back. Recommendation to other people please spend same amount of money in some other restaurant where you will at least get a pleasant service.

Met some friends for lunch there last Saturday. Food was good and fresh, nice ambience as well. Service was awful. The guy waiting at our table was beyond rude. The write up about the lunch buffet at the front of the restaurant said Mimosas were included in the buffet. They never arrived, despite me asking for them. Oh, and they charged us full price for the buffet despite not having served us our drinks. The other wait staff were bringing drinks to all the other tables. I don’t know why they continue to employ this guy.

I came here for lunch and the buffet was great. There was a lot of diversity as to what was avaliable. Lots of vegetarian options as well. I love the décor. The restaurant is in a renovated historic house and is very beautiful, it reminds me of New Orleans. The good was really tasty and fresh.

just got delivery from this restaurant through Amazon prime now($ 10 off on first delivery). We opted for the anglo classic, chicken tikka, and added an order of garlic naan. the chicken tikka was ok. I appreciate a good level of heat in a dish, but here it tasted like the heat was being used to mask the lack of other flavors. The garlic naan was $ 4. Our $ 4 got us one piece of naan. this was very disappointing. had we paid full price, it would have been $ 26 for subpar chicken tikka and one piece of naan. not coming back. there are much better, cheaper Indian/Pakistani options in the area.

Loved the lunch buffet. I’m a fan of Indian food and thoroughly enjoyed myself. However, I’m taking a star away on behalf of my friend who doesn’t like spicy foods. It would be great if they had one or two more options for people who aren’t a fan of spice… but then again, that would take options away from us Spice-a-holics… like I said, I enjoyed it, but I’m including another opinion here, just to warn those who don’t like spicy food. The staff was attentive and fast. It was weird going to the bathroom, made me feel like I was going to a diff establishment, but that’s not enough to make me not want to come back. Warning: the lunch buffet is really good but you might feel sleepy after stuffing yourself lol

I went to Indigma for restaurant week. I didn’t realize that the restaurant week menu was a buffet, so we sat at our table for a couple minutes before the waiter informed us. The buffet offered so many more options than we were expecting!!! They had all meat, vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options, and each was labeled. Which I thought was helpful. Their dessert was also really delicious, and the best part was that it’s all you can eat! I will definitely return soon!

SECONDEDIT: Turns out my gift card was for $ 5– not enough to buy an item. — — — — — — — — — — — EDIT: When I got home the second time, my order was WRONG. I decided to just eat it as I wouldn’t walk there a third time. — — — — — — — — — — — The food itself is fantastic and their restaurant week menu is excellent. I believe that eating in would be a better experience than I describe below. I’d been here once before to get take out a few months ago and had an issue where they forgot to give me some of my order. While the food was good, it was annoying to have to return to the restaurant(they wouldn’t deliver) to get the rest of my order. I decided to not eat there again. However, over the next few months I heard rave reviews from many people and thought maybe my experience was abnormal. So tonight I ordered take out again with friends(we tried to eat in but due to restaurant week they were full). My roommate picked it up and once we got home I saw that AGAIN I did not receive my full order. I had to make the 20 min walk to pick up my food. But they did give me a gift card as apology, so points for that. TL;DR Check your food before you leave BUT it’s quite good.

My friend and I were walking around the area browsing the surrounding restaurants trying to decide on what we wanted to eat for dinner and we actually stumbled across this place by accident but we’re glad we did! They posted their menu outside and also had a board showing their specials. We were drawn in by the three course dinner for $ 30! We were greeted by the owner and he also served us. He was so courteous and welcoming! I really appreciated that he gave us recommendations on what we should order and it helped me to try new Indian foods that I haven’t tried before.

During the week, there is a Grand Lunch Buffet from 11:30 — 2:30pm. My coworkers and I have gone several times for lunch and have left full and content. Warning: Be sure to get there fairly early in order to avoid items running out. As expected for any buffet, it is first come, first serve and while the dishes are re-filled quickly, it is better to not show up near the end of the lunch buffet time. Once you are taken to your table, you can start right away by grabbing a plate at the buffet line. A basket of naan is offered at the table. Upon request, you can ask the waiter for hot peppers which my coworkers sometimes do to add to their experience of spicy. This place has a large variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. The Tandoori Chicken, Eggplant Curry, Gobi Manchurian(fried cauliflowers in a General Tso like sauce) were all top favorites among all of us. The dish options may vary from time to time, but I have noticed a goat dish and some fish options as well. The well-known favorites such as Tandoori Chicken, Tikka Marsala, Saag Paneer, Basmati Rice are always there and are quite delicious. There are salad options and plenty of sauces to try such as Mango Chutney and Cucumber Raitha. After you eat your fill, be sure to try the dessert! I know that makes no sense, but you shouldn’t miss out on dessert! The Gulab Jamun(they look like spongy balls) are super sweet so good luck to you if you can eat more than one. They are a perfect way to end the meal as they are simply covered with a milk, honey, and a rose water syrup. They are very light, but delectable. The service can sometimes be lacking as in a delay in getting naan to the table, but Indigma makes up for it by always being very welcoming and friendly when we come in. Beware of the food coma afterwards!

Hit the lunch buffet at least four times now. Everything hot, flavorful, fresh. Always have a well cooked tender goat dish.mmmm. Fresh Nash soft and chewy and delicious. Usually two dozen or so dishes, mostly chicken based but always a seafood or two, a goat, and some very tasty vegetarian options. Some Chinese inspired dishes as well. Desserts are on target– nice creamy kheer, tasty pineapple cake, sugary sponges gulabs. Mmmmm service fast and attentive as well. Worth every penny!

Less crowded n nice ambience and little spacious too then most of the Indian restaurants in the downtown. Had a large number of varieties for lunch buffet. For $ 15 it is expensive but the price is pretty same everywhere on weekends.

It was okay… I made the mistake of asking for my typically-mild dish to be «a little spicy» and it came out so spicy that my lips burned after eating it, even drinking water didn’t help, I needed milk… and I eat Indian food pretty regularly, so I’m not just some American wuss who can’t handle spicy food… that was not pleasant spice, that was just painful, couldn’t even taste the food over the burn… service was okay, we were one of 3 tables in there so i think i expected a little better given that

The lunch buffet menu is exceptionally good. I have never been disappointed and I go there very often(once a week or so). What amazes me is the variety! Every time they have something different. The favors are explosive and the service is very good. This is a must try while in Baltimore. I have never been in this restaurant for dinner so this review only applies to lunch.

I actually ended up coming to Indigma about four times this year with friends and once with my sister for their lunch buffet. For $ 13, this place is really worth it. They open at 1130 with all foods steaming hot. The one time I went around 130pm, most of the food was gone or somewhat lukewarm. That being said, it is a lunch buffet so first come first serve. They change several dishes from time to time but some of their staples have been tandoori chicken, spicy chicken, aloo saag(spinach purée with potatoes), paneer masala(goat cheese cubes in masala sauce), eggplant, an assortment of chutney and yoghurt dips as well as a salad bar and a dessert bar. i have quite a few photos but it would take forever to load them here but they are posted online here: I really thought it was pretty good Indian food for AYCE at $ 13. It’s great to bring friends as well. I think it’s fairly decent for vegetarians as well like my sister. She definitely wanted to go again during her two week stay. Overall I’m a big fan.

It’s tough to fairly judge another Indian restaurant after having such a superior dining experience at Rasika West End in D.C. In comparison I might even give Indigma a mere two stars, but I’ll be more reasoned with my approach and give it three. My lady and I went early in a Saturday evening, with very few other diners there when we arrived, but the place filling up by the time we left around an hour and 40 minute later. Early on the service was very attentive, while by the end we had to wait a bit to ask for the check, receive it, and get my card back. As for the food, we opted for a selection of appetizers and small plates. None were particularly tasty in my estimation, with the two biggest disappointments being a super spicy scallops appetizer with very soft scallops, and a shared grill plate with meat chunks that were rather dry and sorely lacking sauce or at least something to slather on them. The other two items we had were just okay, and nothing at all memorable. On the plus side, Indigma’s menu is pretty large and diverse, and they have a decent selection of wines. Conversely, their beer selections are quite poor, and typical of many semi-upscale ethnic restaurants that haven’t yet grasped the concept that their clientele is more apt to want craft beer over crappy domestic stuff. Will probably be back to try out the buffet sine time, as my gal says she’s heard good things about it. Hopefully it will be an improvement!
