IT’SUGAR

I had to introduce my Godson to the land of candy & he was not disappointed.
After a good 15 mins or so, he settle on 5 types of candies, told him he could get one. I was not going to be responsible for his inflight sugar rush on the airplane heading back to AZ.
He took the Gummy Worms, I got the Tart Candy & we were good. We ended up by the Gelato section & I got some Dairy Free Gelato & back to sight seeing we’re headed to.
The cashier didn’t know how to use my Check In coupon, so the store Manager Anthony came to the rescue. Very nice customer service all around as that’s the sweet topping of our visit.
A great way for a sweet tooth craving & quick stop… just have some water handy.

Im so upset by my visit to It’Sugar this evening. Some friends and their children were going to waste some money on overpriced candy. We arrived at the store and my daughter held the door open so that 9 of us could enter the store. I the slow one, was the last one to enter. As I entered I learned the employee, Eric had scolded my child for holding the door. Not one to rush to judgement I asked what was going on. Eric said they were trying to keep the heat in. Understandable, but I honestly thought he was being sarcastic. I asked was he cold, he answered yes aren’t you? I said no, and gave him the side eye (I wasn’t cold because I was wearing a really warm, yet cute jacket). Eric and I stared at each other (like a dance off but just staring) for about 10 seconds and had a small audience. I walked away because I really couldn’t believe an employee would really be so angry about being chilly. (Maybe he was using some new psychology in customer service where I would recognize his alpha status and slink away.)
Although my friend suggested we take our business elsewhere, our group stayed and browsed. Dumb decision. The whole time we were in the store I was watched the children like a shadow to make sure they didn’t have too much fun or touch anything.
I was snapped out of my almost shopping when I hear the same guy (Eric) yelling at a girl to put an item back. To be fair he was screaming, but he had some volume and he made it clear he wasn’t joking. The young girl struggled to put a large teddy bear wearing a candy bikini on a top shelf. Another employee, who wore an It’Sugar shirt (who clarified that he didn’t work for the guy, he had his own company) joins in and to also puts the challenge out to see if the girl can replace the item. The girl (bless her heart) was trying to put the item back and was being a great sport, in light of everyone was now watching because of all the attention being brought to her. In am not sure I registered what was happening, you know people don’t usually go to stores to feel humiliated.
My friend who was near the employee let him know his attitude was terrible. Eric thought otherwise. Apparently he deals with this all day? I didn’t hear the entire conversation but he then told her to leave the store. Yup, he said to leave.
He did clarify he was the boss, the manager. He didn’t own the company but he was in charge. I’m not sure what the other man’s role was on the store but it was clear he had his own business.
I didn’t get the message the first time, but it punched me in the face now. I told my kid to let’s go. She was confused and disappointed that she could not purchase the items that she wanted, but I explained that we didn’t need to shop somewhere we weren’t welcome.
This candy store visit was definitely not sweet. I hope Eric doesn’t scare any more little girls. I also hope the corporate office looks into the heating issue that occurs when the door is opened for customers to enter and exit.
Sadly It’Sugar is no longer on our family’s list of must-​go places when we visit Baltimore.

Today I went into the store at the Baltimore Harbor and I experienced a very rude store manager. He started off telling my kid to close the door.“you are letting the heat out”.okay she was holding the door for all of us. I really thought he was being sarcastic but I was so wrong. The manager had another altercation with another member of my party as well. They really got into it with the security standing in and being just as rude as the manager. This store manager was very rude and really needs to be retrained on customer service. I will not be visiting one of my «used» to be favorite store. Just awful and sad!

A super fun store. Of course it is for the kids. Unless you bring your inner child out to play quite a bit.
The store is in the mall on the inner harbor. It is not a large store. But for it’s purpose — it’s big enough. There is candy everywhere. I did not play any particular attention to the different varieties that the store carried. But it was super cute. I got a bunch of candy and finally got to the taste the very elusive — Fireball candy. Have to say — the candy is better than the drink for sure.
PS: If you are coming from the Cheesecake factory next door and have a take out bag of leftover food, be prepared to have all the attention of the staff. At least one of the guys who I am sure was one of the staff members was watching me non stop as if I am going to smuggle some of the candy out of the store without paying — in my take out bag. Not happening buddy! Get a police record on my name smuggling candy? Sorry — No interest!

Cute shop. Treat heaven. Lots of kitsch items. Nice throw back stuff. Some funny as heck magnets. Nice novelty items (especially loved the Harry Potter items they carry). Well-​stocked throughout. Clean. Open feel. Tons of light. Little coffee shop around the corner from the register area.
Staff were friendly, when interaction happened. I had been shopping for a good twenty minutes (including near the staffed register area) before a general employee greeted me. Not the standard for the area, and would have granted a 4-​star rating.
Still, cute shop, and great option for the kiddos, and the kiddo in you.

HOLY CRAP LOOK AT ALL THE CANDY!
This place is a little pricey but if you are in need of a sugar fix, you really can’t do much better. They’ve got pretty much anything you could want. they’ve also got a lot of things you won’t find somewhere other than a candy store (and even then not a guarantee). They’ve got giant candy bars and gummy things, there are some amusing gift things like magnets and what nots. Basically, let a 10 year old design their ultimate store and this would be it.
Good place for some hard to find candies or if you are in need of a fun gift for someone with a sweet tooth.

Was craving some sweets after walking around the Inner Harbor area.
Stopped by here. They have a bunch of stuff. From oversized Rice Krispy Treats to oversized NERDS candy. I went for the weigh-​and-​pay area. It’s like 4 bucks for a quarter of an ounce and a pound of candy was about 13 bucks.
I went for the White Chocolate. Right around a quarter of an ounce. Also got sour tape or whatever and got a fourth of an ounce. All in all, I paid 8 bucks and some change.
Definitely a tourist trap. Then again, what isn’t in the Inner Harbor area?

My boyfriend and I decided to go on a nice date to the harbor and took me into It’s Sugar to buy me something sweet and to get himself some coffee. It was incredibly busy and we waited in the line for ice cream for about 20 minutes. They only had one girl running the entire ice cream portion of the store and I felt incredibly bad for her. There were a couple of workers who would come out of the back (I’m not sure if they were elsewhere in the store or what) but they would eventually just leave her to be by herself again.
When we reached the front counter my boyfriend ordered an iced coffee. The poor girl grabbed 3 other people because she didn’t know how to make it and it, by the taste of it, her other coworkers had no idea either. He got his coffee, tasted one sip and had me taste it as well. His ICED coffee was warm so I told him to back in and ask them to remake it because we waited to long. He came back out 30 seconds later with a cup of ice…
Safe to say that turned me off from the entire place, which is quite a shame because it looked so cool inside. That type of customer service is. just ridiculous.

Well hello there, it’s me… sugar.
I’m a fan of touristy candy shops where you can buy ridiculously big candy or gummies in any flavor and shape. They have sassy gifts, cartoon novelties and hello kitty everything.
I always make sure just to buy a little bag of gummy sours or something and not get carried away, which magically disappeared while walking along the inner harbor. *wink*

Stayyyy awayyyyyyy :-p The last thing we need is to eat humongous boxes of candy. And it’s not like they’re even larger sizes of the candy. For example, the $ 20 box of Laffy Taffy is just a big box of tiny mini Laffy Taffys. The huge Rice Krispie Treat is probably one of the few real huge sized portion there besides the jaw breakers and gummy bears. Kids love it though. Better check the price before you agree that your little kiddo can get that box of Nerds!
There’s a little gelato ice cream stand on one side of the store too.

This is a fun little shop especially for children who LOVE SUGAR! I was never a kid who loved candy and such so I always feel strange in these kind of stores. But my niece and nephew love candy — so this really hit the spot for them.
We walked through the entire store and could hear squealing from every child that stepped foot into the establishment. This really is candy galore. They have oversized candy bars, rice krispie treats, lollipops to make your own candy mixes and combinations.
There are bulk dispensers throughout the store specializing in different products. The kids went nuts. We finally walked out 40 minutes later and $ 30 less in our pockets. However, I do agree with the others, it is overpriced. I wasn’t surprised since it is in a tourist attraction area. Great store for candy lovers especially after walking around in the heat all day, was a nice little treat for the kids.

CHOCOLATE COVERED GUMMY BEARS ARE DA BOMB. ’nuff said.
IT’SUGAR is like Sweet Factory, but with more personality. Not only do they have their bulk candy ($ 3.24 for ¼ lb) but they also have a lot of cute «sugar coated» things. Some examples of this might be m&m dolls, candy toys, giant versions of candy, and even One Direction gear! Yes, a teen’s dream.
Unfortunately, I get impressed by the good selection of bulk candy and although they do have chocolate covered gummy bears, and a good selection of different flavors of gummy bears, they are still missing other good stuff such as grapefruit slices and etc.

The oversized candy was fun and the staff seemed nice, but everything was very overpriced.

Giant gummy bears, my beloved licorice wheels, and anything else that you can dream of. So many nostalgic candies as well.
If you have a sweet tooth, this is definitely the place for you. It was quite busy even just before close.

I am going to write this review now and send the update, because although I had the time of my sugar tooth life in here yesterday, I know I will be crowned quuen my by loyal subject children the day I bring them here… from the youngest 10 month old to the eldest 13 year old, all shall be overjoyed.
Y’all I felt like Wendy Williams on a food segment! My mouth was embarrassingly watering. Once I saw the ignorant sized gummy worm I knew it was time for me to leave before the drool came out my mouth. Geez, I can’t believe I’ve never heard of this place!

I was freaked out by seeing all of the candies I remembered as a child. I spent hours walking in there with my boyfriend going, «Ohhh, I remember those!» I was stoked to find Charleston Chew bars — I haven’t seen (never mind tasted) those since I was ten years old.
Self-​service Jelly Belly bins are the BOMB. It’s really, really easy to overspend in this place; bulk candies + no scales = mouth-​dropping tally. I don’t like the self-​serve bins being so close to the floor, however; a lot of kids were reaching in the bins and grabbing candy with their hands, dropping it back in; can we say public health hazard, boys and girls? I really wish they’d put the self-​service bins much higher where little grubby hands can’t reach.
Love the general idea, though, and I’ll most likely be back for a Charleston Chew fix.

Pricing is on the high side and open containers of loose candy small children can easily put there hands in (or adults for that matter) freak me out! Other than that this place is cool.
Gummies and sours galore in all the shapes and colors of the rainbow. I loved seeing all the candy I ate as a child — especially in their super sized form! Giant candy buttons anyone?
Cool bacon shaped and flavored candy as well — something for everyone and a nice walk down memory lane.

Have you ever seen the World’s Largest Gummy Bear? Well, look no further. It’Sugar has the World’s Largest Gummy Bear and it’s siblings, large gummy bear, normal size gummy bear and mini gummy bear.
You can find various types of gummy bears, tootsie pops, Nerds, carnival candy, candy from your childhood, bulk self serve gummy treats, jelly bellies (mix your own), M&Ms (even in Ravens and Orioles colors) — it’s a sugar fiend’s heaven. I saw candies that I haven’t seen in awhile. If you are looking for some (not really extensive) vintage candies, they even have Necco wafers.
In addition to candy, they have Hello Kitty and «vintage (think 50s) with a twist» novelty items. It’s a bright white space, punctuated with color and candy. For the candy addict, this is a great place to get your fix. If you’re looking for something fun, pop in and get a gift for your favorite candy lover. It may not be your everyday candy stop as prices are a little on the high side, but it is a great place to stop in and get a treat.

Just because you grow up doesn’t mean that you should have to let the good things of childhood go. That’s not fair. That’s why I am thankful for It’Sugar — a candy store that reclaims the good olé days for adults. Filled with novelty candies like the world’s largest Reese’s Pieces Peanut Butter Cups, It’Sugar is conveniently located and had plenty of normal-​sized candies as well, including Jelly Bellies on tap and Mike&Ikes. There are a couple of cute M&M tees and even some baby onesies with tongue-​in-​cheek messaging (see pictures! lol). All in all, it’s a very cute store with a lot of gift ideas for the sweet tooth in your life.
