Broad selection of nuts and fairly affordable. Ask to try the Indian cashews(which are apparently different from the Brazilian cashews because they are more buttery). I tried the Old Bay peanuts — like everything covered in Old Bay, the spice was overpowering but worked well with simple peanuts. I enjoyed the store and the cashier was very friendly — the nuts are apparently prepared in-house. Not completely sold that it’s worth the struggle to find parking, but I would stop by if I was in the area again.

It’s a wee little shop that I happened to come across as I was strolling along the streets of Baltimore, esp. since there’s a huge black and white sign labelled«Peanut Shop» on it. They have a wide variety of nuts, however. Not just peanuts, but cashews, Brazil nuts, etc. Peanuts in chocolate, covered in wasabi(it actually has quite a kick to it), peanut brittle… Oh, they even have gummy bears in chocolate. Dried fruit(kiwi, pineapple…) I think there’s something for everyone. As long as you like nuts or chocolate or dried fruit, or any combination of the three, then you’re pretty much set. I bought ¼ lb of bright green wasabi covered peanuts for ~$ 1.25. The cashews for around the same weight was $ 5.50. They come in little generic brand plastic baggies. You also don’t get to buy like two peanuts from the choose your own nuts section. Gotta buy at least ¼lb of one kind.

Bottom line: Good variety of chocolates and nuts. However, my two experiences have been them staring at me as I enter then turning around to go back to their leisurely activities(Well, I don’t know if they were leisurely… I just know they were more interested in the computer than to greet a costumer). The first time the clerk/owner? stared and went on about her business and then acted as though I was a bother when inquiring about some of their specialties. The second time I just decided it was not worth the shade of being ignored again and walked out.

Such a sweet little shop. We stopped for a little sustenance on our long walk from the station to the ballpark and came away with a variety of goodies: dark chocolate covered cashews(lots of yummy chocolate … sometimes just a little nut!), a firecracker mix(including spicy nuts, wasabi peas and more), dried mangoes(just the right amount of sweet, fresh licorice, Old Bay spiced-peanuts and more. The man and woman(assuming the owners) who greeted us were warm and friendly, pointed us to their favorites and let us taste the treats that interested us before buying. Very reasonably priced, tasty little snack.

The first time I walked by this store on Charles, I thought it was a joke! Who has a store solely devoted to peanuts? Then I realized, that I love peanuts and peanut butter and it was worth a visit. Turns out the peanut shoppe has much more than just peanuts! They have pretty much any roasted, salted, chocolate covered, or crushed nut you could want. They also have some specialty chocolates(they’re Kosher in case you’re interested!) and sugared dried fruit. I loaded up on peanuts, almonds and crystallized ginger and have been snacking ever since. Great little local business! And they even do a lot of the roasting on-site!
