Thoroughly enjoyable experience. Food was delicious, service was excellent. Had a wonderful dinner watching hockey in a surprisingly quiet environment.

I live around the corner from this bar and the beer selection/witty chalkboard outside brought me in, but the Owner, Pat and the rest of the staff kept me coming back. I’ve been there enough to try their food and you can tell everything is fresh and some of the items have that homemade touch to them– try their Honey Old Bay Wings and Mozzarella sticks especially. They are constantly updating their specials and offering new items on the menu so you can always change it up– even if you find yourself stopping in on a weekly basis like myself. I love their constantly revolving beer list, but they’ve even gone out of their way to make me some amazing Irish coffees in the colder months and their crushes are made fresh squeezed right in front of you. All of that aside, the thing that keeps me coming back is to stop in and see the family they have behind the bar. Melissa especially is always coming up with fun themed nights(hot cider night and cosmo nights were some of my favorites.) and Pat genuinely cares about looking out for his neighbors. We briefly moved out of the area last year and went out of our way to come visit Lighthouse during the curfew because they support their neighbors, so we wanted to support them in return all the way from the suburbs. I even lost my wallet one night and Pat went out of his way to help me look(and because he’s stellar at what he does– he could vouch for everyone at the bar because he knows everyone!) Thank you for providing Canton with an awesome local watering hole, Pat! We love coming in to see you :)

Good atmosphere, smoke free, and a good place to hang out with some friends. The food was much better than what I’d expect at a bar and the service was great.

I recently had a friend visiting and I had been curious about Lighthouse because I take my dog to the dog park around the corner so we decided to give it a shot. Fun music, friendly clientele, relaxed bartenders– Lighthouse was the perfect spot for a Friday night where we encouraged other friends to meet us and ended up hanging until close! We had so much fun we went back the next night! One of the best parts of canton is great bars like this off the square!

This bar use to be awesome. We started coming in and many times we had a very short bartender. He literally raised his voice at us on multiple occasions for doing something he didn’t like. Like closing a tab when there’s a 10 dollar minimum even though he closed out a pretty girl’s across the bar. We ordered food and it didn’t come until we were ready to leave and they still charged us even though we waited forever. Based on multiple issues my friends and I will never come back. Apparently this bar hates money and its patrons.

Oh my gosh yum! The girl and I stopped by on a Friday for dinner. We sat outside because it was a gorgeous night. Craft beer menu is quite extensive, which I personally loved. The drinks came out in plastic because we were outside, but that as no problem. The girl had a watermelon margarita which was good — not too sweet. For food we had the crab dip as an appetizer. It was really really good, and the pita chips were amazing! For dinner I had the weekly special which was an Angus beef hotdog wrapped in a pretzel. Incredibly good. I got it with the duck fat tots, which are definitely some of the best tots I’ve had. The girl had the bbq chicken sandwich, sans-bread. She really enjoyed it, especially the sauce. She got the sweet potato waffle fries on the side, which were ALSO delicious. Service was good. Friendly, a little on the slow side but we were constantly apologized to and we were in no rush so we didn’t mind. Overall we would definitely go back. Food was great and very reasonably priced for the quality and portions. I’d recommend this place to anyone!

Since we live a block away on Conkling and heard rave reviews we decided to make the 100 yd walk. We sat outside and had lovely service, orange crushes and an even lovelier time. For appetizer we got the buffalo old bay wings which fell off the bone(literally). Maybe a little spicy for my liking but still possibly the best wings we’ve ever had. Next time I want to try the honey old bay. I got the rockfish tacos. I never order tacos even at Mexican joints so this was sort of a big deal for me. Nonetheless, they were great. They say you get 3 tacos but realistically it’s like 6 with the amount of rockfish in them. The flavor in the Guinness beer batter was my favorite. A definite must try. My boyfriend got the sausage pizza. It was good but not amazing. But considering it’s not a spot known for pizza it was still pretty good. The sauce was its high note. Overall, we are patting ourselves on the back for this decision. We were both eying up menu options for next time.

This place is an actual gem. From the outside, it might seem that this place is dank and super divey, but on the inside it’s actually pretty nice. The upholstery isn’t super dilapidated, and while it isn’t the most ultra-modern bar in the area, it’s definitely well-organized and well-kept. With that, it definitely has a neighborhood feel, and you can tell there’s a fairly loyal following among the locals in the Canton area. The clientele ranges from Baltimore lifers, to young professionals, to groups just watching the O’s game on TV. The music played here is a wonder, as when we visited, it was a mix of 80’s hits, with the occasional sprinkling of bluesy modern rock(think the Black Keys), and there was much drinking and singing along in our own impromptu karaōke sessions. They have a pretty extensive beer list, mostly bottles, but a few notable drafts here and there. The bartenders are pretty friendly and quick in pouring out drinks. They make their crushes with actual orange/grapefruit juices, which is a very nice touch, for all you crush purists out there. I’ve never tried the food here before, but from the looks of it, they serve pretty standard, heart-stopping pub fare at good prices. I’m pretty shocked that my friends and I didn’t discover this bar before, but I’ll definitely be back to this neighborhood favorite.

Favorite bar in Baltimore. Great food. Exceptional mozzarella sticks made fresh. Pizza is thin and very good(try the chicken parm pie). Haven’t had anything bad. Friendly bartenders. Lots of tvs. Weekly specials. Outside seating.

This is an absolutely wonderful bar. The chicken dinner on Thursday nights is awesome and the beer selection is great. It’s just a very friendly fun bar where the people working there and the owner genuinely care about their customers. I’d highly recommend it to anyone wanting to go to a great local bar and feel like a regular.

Very friendly, great service. Accepting to newcomers. High Def sports on walls. I can’t ask for much more from a corner bar.

We went here twice because we bought LivingSocial deals. To manage your expectations, this is a bar first and foremost, second a restaurant. Having said that, it was some of the best BAR food I’ve had. The menu offered a lot of selections, and the food was solid. The fries and tater tots were very hot and delicious. The sandwiches were very good also. The service was excellent each time. It’s a neighborhood bar, so the employees treated us as neighbors. Their prices were very reasonable, so I would go back even without the LivingSocial deal(which is saying a lot and something I hardly ever say).

Good deals on beers, Crabbies alcoholic ginger beer(yummmm!!) and fabulous crab pretzel! Good place to wander down to on a lazy night or Sunday afternoon to catch the O’s game. Plenty of space and TVs.

Don’t walk into this place expecting any of the aesthetic charm of Canton or Fell’s Point. It is a basic wooden no-frills bar filled with down to earth(older) people, serving typical bar food paired with a decent variety of beers at a friendly price. However, the thing about this place that stood out for me(and what I think makes it worth four stars) is that the owners and the staff are unbelievably helpful and accommodating. They go out of their way to make sure that each one of their patrons is happy. Little things like extending the kitchen hours for straggling clientele to putting your iPod through the sound system if you and your group want to shake a tail feather while you drink a cocktail(see what I did there). It is a great place to hang where no one will know your name, but you’ll still get treated like one of the gang.

We were the only people there on a Saturday night. The beer selection is ok, the food is good but nothing great, the portions are generous and it’s cheap. So a great solid neighborhood spot — nothing creative or extraordinary.

Lighthouse gets 5 stars for being fabulous and OFF the square! On the corner of Clinton street across from the dog park, this newly remodeled location has a great ambiance, perfect selection of beers, and tasty appetizers, including fried pickles! The owner and bartenders are very friendly and ensure that everyone’s experience is positive. Drop in for a happy hour, you’ll be glad you did!

I went to the lighthouse tavern back on their opening night back in February. The ambience of the bar is light and friendly, the staff is extremely nice and they have what I considered to be a large variety of beers. We started with appetizers, a crab dip and fried pickles. Just do yourself a favor and give them a try. Definitely worth it. Moments later we ordered burgers, we had the thomas point burger(wade, reviewed it earlier) and it was just as he described it, with gouda, bacon and that delicious herb mayo. We also ordered another one that avocado in it. The burger was cooked perfectly, the combination of toppings worked well together and really rounded the dishes well. Overall, it’s a great place to go, drink a few beers, have some good food and, best of all, have a conversation. There is music but your ears won’t be ringing at the end of the night, future-you will thank you for that.
