Ok… So, being from the metro Detroit area I had no reservations about venturing to «the hood» for a crab cake(I’m allergic but my guy wanted one)… We get there, only to find out they’re «out of food»??? Really? A restaurant out of food… Hmmmmm… Is this a case of reverse prejudice? I wonder.

Not mad at this place at all. Went close to closing the other night with a SERIOUS seafood hankering. They were out of crab cakes AND out of dungeness crab legs, which was a huge bummer for me b/c I’m not too fond of «blues».(Oh sue me! I’m from Philly lol.) However, they still had shrimp, so I went for a pound of those. They were so huge and delicious… salty as heck, but still tasty. I thought that I ordered a platter that should’ve come with potatoes & onions as a side, but apparently I didn’t, so that was disappointing. I also tried their seafood salad, which I hoped wasn’t chock full of that whack imitation crab meat, but alas, it was. :/I ate about a quarter of it and then trashed it. Tiny little shack right off of Bel Air & Moravia, but it seems to get the job done. I’ll be back.

Found this place online and had the best prices by far after calling a dozen places. Ordered a half bushel med and large males. Crabs were mostly medium some large but very full and tons of spice and just down right delicious. Loved them. Will be back for more. A little drive into city but well worth it.

Yes all those other reviews were correct. This place is the real deal. Just a little shack with takeout only. We called ahead and ordered 2 dozen large males for $ 54/dozen. They were hot, juicy and delicious and they even gave us 3 extras crabs! Our family of four had a feast. Eating Maryland style crabs is always messy, but well worth it. Here’s a tip for those who wear contact lenses. Remove them and put on your glasses. The Old Bay Seasoning will be on your hands for hours and it sure burns when you want to take out your contacts. For those traveling, you can reach this location via the major highways I-95 and I-895. This was our first visit and will return again.

These crabs were pretty darn good. We got a dozen of the large crabs and ate half one day and half after our drive back to NJ cold. There is NO seating so just call ahead and take it to go. Our crabs took forty minutes so we tried to kill time in this sketchy part of town. I tried ordering other things but they were apparently only serving crab that day and the fryers were off due to the heat.

Small little crab shack in a questionable part of town. Delicious, meaty and juicy crabs with a great spice blend. Take out only with very reasonable prices. Im not from Baltimore but have family there so visit frequently and have been to numerous crab restaurants all over town. May be a bold statement but these are the Best crabs in Baltimore in my opinion!!!

Best crabs I’ve ever eaten. PERIOD! Simply delicious!!! Got both females and males, the large ones. They were huge and very meaty. Will drive from NY to Baltimore just for a box of this goodness. Can’t wait to go back.

Ok so I called to place my order on Friday October 3,2014 about 2:30 pm and I was in luck. I placed an order for two hard stuffed fried crabs and one pound of shrimp. Total was $ 40.79. I can’t remember the guys name that waited on me and I do apologize because he was very friendly. I told him that I was a first time customer and he gave me an ink pen which was not only an ink pen but, it was a stylus and a flashlight also. I paid for my order said«Thank» and was on my way. As I was driving home the aroma in the car truly made me want to pull over and start pinching. But, I didn’t. Once I arrived home and open the packages I was pretty impressed. The fried hard stuffed crab came with melted butter. The fried crab was just so huge. My eyes were truly bigger than my stomach because I was only able to eat half. My mother only ate half of hers also. The batter it was fried in was delicious. The inside was like a crab cake and low and behold you still had the steamed part of the crab to eat. I tried a few of the shrimp later that night and it too was delicious. I really can’t wait to get back. I am sitting here right now wishing I was having some of Mackey’s Crab House food for lunch. Trust me I will be returning very soon. Thanks again Mackey’s for your great food and customer service.

Best place on earth. The crab cakes are better than a donut filled with Disney Land, House of Cards and Chez Pannise.

It was okay. Only small females were left at the end of the day. Taste good and seasoning was good also. Great customer service and short wait time.

I love this place. I’m addicted to crabs and these are the best ones. I come at least once a week. He’s really friendly and he stays open pretty late. I suggest calling ahead to place your order though. At least 30mins.

I got the lake trout platter. Came with two whole whiting fillets butterflied down the middle, battered, and deep-fried. It is bone in, but I ate a lot of the bones with no problem; they were rather soft. I didn’t detect much more than salt, pepper, and some garlic on the fish/in the batter. That being said, it was really good :-) The fries were a little bit more done than I would like but still good as well. It was a touch pricey when I first looked but that’s because they give you lots of food. My order came in two carry-out boxes. This wouldn’t fit in your standard square chicken-box boxes. I’ll be back to try the steamed crabs and crab cakes. Your chef is the owner himself frying up your food to order. Pretty obvious this is his life. He’s really friendly and takes a lot of pride in his finished product. Cool micro seafood shack– instant Unilocal street-cred if you come here. Get off the beaten track, would ya?
